I would also suggest cutting the Crystal Light - I am really really sensitive to artificial sweeteners. Not only do they make me really hungry, but if I go overboard it directly impacts my weight loss. I've been stalled for months now, but I've not been super diligent about counting carbs and calories (I actually have to…

I've been doing LC for about 8 months and am down 35. Halfway to my ultimate goal of 70. I get frustrated sometimes that I'm losing slower than others, but I'm still losing so I try to remember that this is all about ME and not about other people, and to keep going.

my collarbone, and my pelvis - they've been hidden for a while.

I'd be in - I'm also a loyal fitbit user.

Alcohol is also a diuretic, so if you're losing weight after drinking, it's likely some water weight that will show back up.

I need to try the fat bombs as well, but I've really been enjoying herbal teas in the evening. I really like the Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger or Mandarin Spice.

I did find one article from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that was published in 1973 (the study was done in West Germany) that 100% supports this. Fascinating.

Since there's a literal mountain of scientific evidence supporting CICO, I was curious if you've seen anything in the scientific literature supporting this. I'm doing a search (as I'm lucky enough to have access to a bunch of journals) but not finding much research out there. Not being confrontational, just curious.

I had a co-worker stick a piece of chocolate cake in my face at the holiday. In the past I've tried to politely decline but I've noticed that the more I decline the more adamant people get about eating it (which is so rude!) So I've developed two strategies. 1) take it and say you're going to save it for later and then…

I'm down 30 since September doing low/no carb. I feel great and looking forward to feeling even better since I have 40 to go

I had carb flu for a good week. It's rough, but it will pass. I remember feeling like a fog had lifted from my brain once I finally got through it. Keep on keeping on!

Be patient.... that's been my biggest challenge. If you stick with it, even when you get bored, you'll see results.

I finally achieved a mini-goal of getting under 200!! Go me!! However, we have Christmas to get through yet, and then a weekend trip to Vegas. Hopefully a lot of walking will offset potentially bad choices. Hoping to hit 195 by January 1! Like you I also went off the rails on Thanksgiving - which resulted in the worst…

While I'm losing weight, my weight loss has been much slower than a lot of others on this site. It took me well over five days to get into ketosis and I do have to really watch my calorie counts or my weight loss stalls. It works but you have to be patient. Atkins isn't just about eating low carb - calories still matter…

I think the human body is fascinating in that way. Thanks for sharing - definitely the pick me up I needed today.

I'd say 17 pounds in one month is pretty damn awesome!

Alright everyone - only one more day of the October challenge. I'll miss my goal, but how did everyone else do!?
-
I'm in the same boat. I'm 1.6 pounds away from my goal (most definitely won't hit it by Friday given my history) and I think I need to go back to being extremely strict about portion control. Also I know I'd lose faster if I incorporated more exercise, but there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day (excuses, I…

Unrelated to anything - this is both a vent, and a "Yay Me" post. Yesterday was pretty much the worst day ever. It started with me forgetting my coffee on the counter (which I didn't realize until I was AT work - I'm a bit of a coffee addict, so this was a big deal). Managed to get chewed out at work first thing in the…

Could it be gas pain? I used to have that a lot back when I was eating carbs. I haven't had pain, but I've certainly had issues breathing due to allergies acting up. Honestly, if you're really worried, I'd see a doctor. You can always log when it happens, and compare it to what you've eaten or stress levels or other…

I'm 2 pounds away! Hoping I can get there in 10 days!

Um. So what the heck happened to the boards. I knew they were changing them, but every day I come on here and it's different.

I was fine - totally fine - until about a week ago when I decided that I wanted to eat all of the pastry and doughnuts ever. I don't even like doughnuts.... I'm just about to finish week six and I'm finding that I'm getting a little bored. Trying to be creative is hard! I should also note that I didn't actually eat any of…

I concur! What shall we discuss?

I did in fact, cheat, last Friday. I had a glass of wine, and had some "fancy" jalapeno poppers - soft cheese and breadcrumbs aren't on the menu - and I saw a drop in my ketosis the next day, but was able to bounce back quickly. Also - that was the best glass of wine, since I had not had one in six weeks. There's…

I'd like to point out here that what Atkins does is cut out ALL sugar. There are plenty of medical studies out there (now) to suggest that sugar is what is causing the obesity epidemic in our country, and NOT fat. I am in week five of Atkins - and I'm still doing Phase 1. I haven't lost weight that quickly, but I do a lot…

Today is week 5 for me and I'm down 9 pounds. I'm officially a low carb believer after repeatedly trying low fat diets and feeling so hungry. This has been working with minimal effort. I don't have any cravings and I'm eating a lot of delicious food. Feel free to add me as well - always like to be supportive of others! I…

Since my husband isn't doing low carb - I've been working really hard to find recipes that I can convert. Here are two we did last week which were fantastic Chipotle Cheddar Turkey Burgers w/ Avocado Crema - I just omitted the bun and used lettuce instead. I didn't do the crema either since my avocados hadn't ripened yet.…

memelizzy - I totally understand this!!! I've had to steadily buy larger underwear as I put on weight, and I have some size 7s in my drawer that I'm GOING TO GET INTO SO HELP ME.

Remember that muscle is denser than fat, so it does make sense that you'd be shrinking and still losing fat (and size) but the scale isn't changing that much. Like you all I'm a heavy girl - 212 this morning but I'm in a size 16. I have a lot of muscle in my legs, which accounts for a lot of that weight. At my lowest I was…
