Yeah, I used that as an example of how much stuff we put into our bodies (all types of food included). I detox and I only supplement with Whey, fish oil, and a sports MV. It's not one of those things you do all of the time, I would suggest 4 times a year at most (that's really all you need).

Good afternoon, MFP! love4fitnesslove4food, kudos to you for posting what some might consider an embarrassing question! It sounds like you may need to detoxify your body. With body building (and athletics in general), we consume an absurd amount of supplements and food in sporadic fluctuation throughout the year. It sounds…

Well, take it from my experience. I've been off and on in the gym for over 5 years now, and I've only been really heavy on it over the summer. But recently, I've adopted it as a complete lifestyle change. I usually have a lifting partner. We never scowl at anybody or look down on people who are trying to do something good…

Well now you must love yourself! Seeing the "new" you is like whoa!

You are very welcome! I, personally, think cottage cheese tastes disgusting and I have a hard time getting it down. A really hard time! If you look at my diary from Saturday evening, you'll notice "Friendship - All Natural Low Fat Cottage Cheese 1% Milkfat No Salt Added, 1/2 cup (113g)". The worst part in the nutrition of…

During weight loss, our bodies have a tendency to attack muscle-tissue while it's getting the fat. This is because it's easier for it to break down the protein in our muscles for fuel/energy rather than going to the food and carbs that we consume during times of dieting where we have a caloric deficit to compensate for the…

Definitely agree! I have been married to the rowing machine since I was in high school, the hardest part about it is getting the technique down. I see many people struggle with the proper form and technique on that machine and aren't getting the hard work they should be getting in because of it. But I prefer the rowing…

Well, how sore are you? Did you just recently start weight training? When I first started, I was so sore that I couldn't sleep well because my body felt like I had a flu. Make sure you're taking in a lot of vitamins. A good multivitamin will help with this, but if you're motivated enough then a well-balanced meal will do…

Agreed. Rather than one massive cheat day, I will just spread it out and not indulge too heavy. I tried to have a cheat day 3 weeks ago... I gained 4 lbs in a single night, went 3000 calories over my limit, and it took me over 4 days to recover and get back to where I was on the morning of that cheat day. So, in shorter…

Make a chicken wrap. All that's required is chopped roman lettuce, a small sprinkle of parmasan cheese, 1 wrap, grilled chicken strips, and I like to put tomatoes. Takes a few minutes and it's quite filling. Many people like to put dressing in it, but the dressing usually makes the wrap fairly unhealthy so I just leave it…

I don't know how people like you do it! I'm so envious!

Hangover cure: Gatorade. I would not trust any other beverage to cure my hangover except Gatorade. Don't get the light Gatorade either, just go with the regular one. You'll feel like a hero.

Everyday, log it into an excel spreadsheet and update my weight-loss graph. Now, I MEASURE myself once a week on either Saturday or Sunday. Pictures once every 30 days.. Today is my first 30, I really wish I would've taken starting pictures =[

Excellent! You're on a very good track! I can vouch for almost everything you said! - I do about 80 minutes of weight training and 40 minutes of cardio 5x a week (Monday-Friday) - I binge on protein, I'm on a high protein regiment and aim for 40-50% of my calorie intake to be from protein and start with a protein shake…

I've seen people perform their best while having a hangover. Me and my buddies just stare at them run around the track and think "how does he do that? He drank like an alcoholic last night and now he's maxing his PT test..." I, personally, could never do that. I have a hard time working out while hungover.

I wear a wind breaker-type jacket in the rain, regardless of temperature. Your shirt tends to get drenched in a few moments of time. I also wear my crappy shoes because I don't want it to effect my next-days workout. Plus, I always think of one of the military's motto's while I'm running in the rain, "if it's raining,…

USPlabs OxyElite Pro or GNC's GenitixHD Meta-Ignite are the only two fat-burner products that I would recommend. I'm on OxyElite Pro right now and getting incredible results (I eat properly and exercise a lot too though).

I found this article enlightening for sugar: http://lifehacker.com/5809331/what-sugar-actually-does-to-your-brain-and-body Do whatever you feel is working best for you. It can be hard to regulate any particular intake of food. I, personally, consciously try to avoid as much sugar as possible. I still consume it, but I…

I weigh in every morning, if I gotta take a dump then I do it. Sometimes I'll take a shower and weigh myself after, but that effects your weight on the scale by -0.5* or so lbs. I record my weight in a spreadsheet each morning and include notes to see if any particular trend in my weight can be correlated with decisions…

I would recommend a cheap gym. I go to a fairly cheap gym because I'm not at an intermediate lifting level yet. They will give you a tour of the place and show you how each machine works and what muscle areas each lift targets. I'm sure they might be able to set you up with a good beginning routine as well. I go to this…

Whoaa! I want to be like you a year from now!

First, if I may, you should consider purchasing Whey and other supplements through Amazon or another online website, they’re typically much cheaper. The Whey that I buy would normally cost $77.99 at GNC whereas the same product on Amazon costs me $45.83 with free 2-day shipping. Just a suggestion, sometimes going to pick…

Well, we can certainly agree to disagree; however, USPlabs in no way endorses this product as some sort of “magical” fat loss supplement. It was designed to speed up the users metabolism, suppress appetite (can be a good or bad thing), enhance energy/focus, and positively affect the users mood. Even on their product page,…

I suppose you put it into better words than I; I certainly made it sound much more confusing than it really had to be. Regardless, if they disclosed the exact dosage of each ingredient then they would be surrendering the "recipe", so to speak. The objective is not to trick or cheat people into thinking that their product…

I tried to quit smoking on Friday. I bought a new pack yesterday. I feel as though I'm doomed.

Exactly, don't stack OEP with other stuff. I've reduced my supplement intake to only Whey, Multivitamin, and Fish Oil to be completely safe. Jack3d is now on the top shelf for me, as much as I love the product.

Here's where I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on this. You tackled the caffeine dosage and "other ingredients" pretty well. I'll agree with you in that the other ingredients are less significant. However, there are 119.5mg of proprietary blends; for those of you who are unaware of what this means, in a…

I agree with this completely. ON makes the best Whey in my opinion. I recommend purchasing it through Amazon if you have a Prime account, that way you get free shipping and it makes the overall cost much less! I would also like to recommend Casein protein if you're looking for meal replacements, it takes much longer for…

I take measurements every week. So far the only significant reduction in my measurements have been in my thighs. it varies per person. I would recommend taking pictures of yourself each week and compare them every month. This way you will be able to visually notice the differences between weeks/months. My mistake was not…
