You're at an awesome start already. If you keep up with the walking, you'll see amazing results in the long-run. I'm going to guess that 2 - 3 miles takes quite a bit of time as well (it takes me more than 25 minutes to run 3 miles let alone walk!). I'd recommend trying out pacing yourself in intervals. Rather than walking…

This is my first day back as well. I'm trying to stick with this site but it can get tedious adding everything you eat. But there is so much knowledge here!

Keep up with it. One of the struggles I've had is starting and going in headstrong... and then phasing out of it for foolish reasons. From my (brief) experience, the MFP community is very helpful and full of knowledge!

I was just about to say this. My work gave me a 32 oz bottle when I started and I've been using that. I'd recommend going to the store and picking up a Nalgene or some other similar-type of liquid container that has the measuring tick marks on the side to help guide you. This way you know that it's a 32 oz container and…

Lookup the exercise "Flutter Kicks." I feel like that may be a better option, it's often used in military exercise circuits. Hopefully this resolves any exercise conflicts for you!

When I was running over the summer, I used the treadmill after every workout at the gym. I'm not positive on my methods but what I would do is set my run to 20 minutes (this is a post-workout run), set the first five minutes to about 5 mph and after the five minutes is up I would add either .2 mph every minute or .1 every…

You may also want to have a look at these: http://muscleandstrength.com/articles/transformations.html Those articles really helped motivate me to the max. I understand that many women look down upon weight lifting because they see it as a masculine activity, but I urge you to consider it. Read some of the articles of the…

No, that's an excellent amount of water. You're doing great! A diet coke isn't a bad thing. When I first started out, I used to have a diet coke a couple (<6) per week to satisfy my sweet tooth so starting out I'd say it's absolutely fine to treat yourself. Eventually you'll end up dropping it (it just tends to happen when…

How long have you been doing this routine? I go to the gym about 4x per week (well, as often as I have time for.. but usually 4x per week). I start off with weight lifting and then follow it up with cardio. If you're burning 450-500 calories, that's excellent. I have to push myself to the max to burn more than 400 calories…

Alright... I had NO idea that we were to give up Sushi and Jalapeños. Had no idea! I really wish I didn't have to give up Fried Chicken =[

This is my first post, but hopefully I can help! When you say "lately," do you mean the past couple of days, on and off, or this has been going on for a little while? I can certainly relate to this... take today for example: I've only eaten cereal and I'm working on a can of tuna for lunch. I'm not a nutritionist, but I…
