Sorry I'm a bit late to the table, but I went and saw it last weekend. I thought it was pretty enjoyable. The first half of the first film did SUCH a good job at building tension (in my opinion), so I was a little disappointed that this one didn't have as much buildup. Instead it just sort of jumped right into the…

That's a great victory! Let's see, I had a good one too yesterday. I spent the day at the beach yesterday and wore a two-piece bathing suit the whole time. Aside from my usual intrusive thoughts that would go along with being so exposed, I also found myself thinking for a second that people were probably thinking it's…

Hi there I_snaps_I! Sorry for the delay in answering, all day yesterday I couldn't get the board to load, just kept getting a maintenance message. Congrats on doing therapy, it's a hard step to take. If there's anything you ever want to discuss or ask about, post a topic! Since we're a small group, there aren't always as…

I've lost 31 pounds since I started being really committed to getting healthy, and I take in more calories than I did for the years before that when I was trying unsuccessfully to lose weight. I think the key is that while I eat more calories now, I eat BETTER calories. In the past, I'd restrict under 1200, under 1000,…

Your advice was great, I think just recognizing that there was potential for stress helped me to realize that when I felt anxious leading up to it, it was just this monster working, not the real me.

I hope this does come across the wrong way, because I know some people view such things as taboo, but have you ever considered seeing a therapist? That's a pretty substantial loss/gain swing multiple times, and it's possible your relationship with food is being affected by internal problems that are sabotaging your fitness…

I hear you! I'm hypothyroid, and it is a B*TCH! When my thyro makes me sluggish (feels like gravity is 80 times higher than normal) I find that getting in a little exercise through non-cardio methods works. The idea of getting up and jumping around or running can sound impossible during those times, but laying in the floor…

The Zumba class I go to is in a roller skating rink, so no mirrors, plus they turn the lights off, so I'm lucky I never have to see myself Zumba-ing :) I totally agree with the recommendation to stay near the front-- the first time I went, the person who took me wanted to be in the 2nd or 3rd row, so that's been my spot…

LOL, I may actually be related to potatoes though. My love for them is strong enough. My username is not too exciting-- my name is Savanna and everyone calls me Savvy. I used to have a friend who always said, "What's up, babycake?" and it morphed into Savvycake when he said it to me. It's probably a bad screenname for a…

So glad to hear all the kindred sweaters in this thread and know that I'm not alone! I get so jealous when I hear about people working out on their lunch breaks; I would LOVE to go do that, but after any workout, of any level, I'm always so drenched in sweat and red faced, there's no way I could be at work in that state!…

Bonjour! ^_^

I count it when I drink sparkling water, like canned La Croix or Perrier. I don't ever drink the other ones because fake sugars trigger migraines for me, but I agree with the idea or counting anything under 5 calories as water intake.

High heels are one of life's greatest joys for those who like them. I'm 5'9" but I still love my heels. :)

I wasn't too amazed... I admittedly wasn't expecting a whole lot though; I only went because a date took me on Friday. I never saw the first Iron Man, and I only saw the second one because Mickey Rourke would be in it. I think the whole time I was watching Iron Man 3, I just kept thinking, "No Mickey Rourke..."

It would be the ending of Hannibal. The movie was great, but I freaking LOVED the book, and anyone else who read the book knows just how different the movie went. Le sigh...

I totally agree with the recommendation to start tracking them. Knowing what has triggered them in the past can help you to plan ahead and give yourself time/forgiveness in those same situations in the future. When I figured out that one of my triggers was something unavoidable for me (luckily only a couple times a year…

Oh my gosh, your post could have been my own! It's been about 6 years since I first began getting so out of control that I finally sought medical help, and since then I had gained about 70 pounds. Each med represented a portion of the weight in my mind (Pristiq= 30 pounds, Citalopram= 20pounds, Buspar= 15pounds, etc.). My…

Well, I'm doomed then. I'm already totally in love with him. And yes, Rory NAILS it. Couldn't imagine anyone else in his place now.

Reading book 3 now. I started with the shows when a friend let me borrow Season 1 on DVD, and then I read Book 1. Once I'd watched Season 2 I let myself read book 2. Now I can't wait and have decided to go ahead and read first, I just can't resist. I have been completely mad for the Hound since day one. I love his…

Opinions among women vary too. I don't think he was trying to speak from a purely desire-based standpoint.

I'd be happy to just see a mannequin in any of my local stores that actually fit the clothes for sale. I've worked in clothing retail stores before, and it's just a fact that most of them are intended to wear XS (extra small) clothes, which was not the most-frequently purchased size at those stores. While I think it would…

Oh dear Neptune, YES! Sleep is soooo important to your health, including weight gain and loss. I went for about five years with untreated sleep apnea, just thinking that I was a generally tired person. When it got to the point that I was sleeping 9-10 hours a night, and taking a nap on my 15-minute break at work, then…

Well said!

Like the original poster, my "holy sh**" moment was when I was in a friend's wedding. Up until the wedding, and even the day of, I was unhappy with my size, but not to a breaking point. I felt like I looked nice that day; my hair was all styled, my dress fit, I had on fancy makeup. Then, when those pictures came a month…

I never did introduce myself, so I will now, a bit late! My name is Savanna and I'm a geek (altogether now: "Hi Savanna") Everyone calls me Savvy. My superpower is the ability to speak five languages in a single bound. Or, well, to speak five languages, maybe without the jumping. I've studied eight, but three are still a…

Mostly industrial or metal, but also the Fratellis get me going for a workout sometimes. I think because I associate them with songs that we used to play to get pumped up before hockey games :)

When I saw this thread at first I thought it mean pet names as in like, sweetheart nicknames. I was going to say my ex used to call me Yeta after a character in the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. But I'm not a pet. My pet's names aren't anything particularly geeky: a cat named Clambster (as invented by my niece, a…
