@serpilchiba336 also if counting calories don't work for you try a different approach like meal patterning. For example you could just design the tweaks you want to your current diet and stick to that pattern instead of calorie counting

@serpilchiba336 yes! Just adding in more veggies is huge. Veggies are very beneficial "weight loss" foods and most are very low calories. And I think I mentioned raw veggies are actually negative calories. I understand being sad about having less of something you love, but hopefully that will pass. I learned to love new…

@serpilchiba336 I'm inspired by your workouts. Actually what you're eating doesn't look bad per se but you will probably need to make changes to get to and maintain a healthy weight. I am also 5'4 and my set point (highest weight) is 185lbs. Today I am consistently at 149ish from casual dietary changes alone. I lost 25lbs…

My favorite websites are: 1) https://nutritionfacts.org/ Dr. Gregor has extensively researched every topic and has published great books. They also have a YouTube channel 2. Mic The Vegan https://www.youtube.com/c/MictheVegan - takes on all the rumors, challenges, popular media about vegan/vegetarian diets with humor and…

Take calorie counting lightly, it is informative but doesn't tell all that we need to know. The greater purpose of tracking is to become aware of what we eat and what it does to us. It's tedious in the beginning and it's okay if you miss some things. But it gets much easier after you build up your list of foods you…

Wow so complicated! After many years of weight loss efforts I realized that what we eat is by far the most important part of weight control (95% ish) and that there is no way that my exercise can make up for eating what I call "weight gain foods." Yet exercise is so important for health, how we feel and look. Plus exercise…

Soy products, edamame also have a substantial amount of calcium. We have to be careful with the calcium supplements because some research says that they can increase heart attack risk in some women.

Hello I'm returning to MFP after being inactive for some time. I went vegan about a year ago and lost 25 lbs! I am working on improving overall health and fitness and also losing another 15lbs. Also my doctor says I need to lower blood sugar. (I do struggle with resisting goodies ha ha ). I have two adult children and two…

Doesn't look like it's been very active but perhaps we can change that. :)

Hello How's it going? I'm also just returning to food logging after several years. Life is better and I think I can do it!

I do keep temptations out of my house in the beginning. Once I have a system in place to avoid them, then I keep them again.

Another approach is to adopt healthy patterns for eating. You'd have healthy options for each meal. For example: I try to eat fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch, and a small serving of meat (optional) with vegetables for dinner, fruit or a small amount of nuts for snacks, limited healthy carbs (brown rice, oatmeal, beans…

Well let's face it, sugar is addictive and we're all addicted! I have greatly reduced this addiction. You have to attack it physically and mentally. Once you get control over it, cravings go away and you lose weight much more easily. My long post below tells how I did it. Physical 1) - The first thing to do is to get a…

From your list the best cereal is multi-grain cheerios. The best cereal not on your list is probably Kashi-go lean which comes in some varieties. That being said, cereal is not good for weight loss. It's better to eat fruit for breakfast. Try one cup of the multigrain cereal along with fruit (apple, banana, melon etc.).…
