So I'm four days late to this but meh. It's encouraging to see people that have a lot to lose doing this, I see it mentioned all over the place but I've also seen people say that it isn't well suited for people just starting out. Perhaps I'll actually give it a try...

It definitely affects weight, mostly water weight. It stalled me out this week from breaking the ten pound mark >.>

Any time you need conversions just google it, there are a ton of conversion sites out there ;)

I used to use the original Rembrandt ones and they worked amazingly well. Most teeth whiteners don't work for me because my teeth are stained by too much fluoride when I was little so it's saying something that the Rembrandt ones worked so well. However, I haven't tried the new version, though I can't imagine they wouldn't…

I'm 5'8"-5'9" depending on the day. My current goal is 160, though I may reevaluate once I get there. I have quite a bit of time to think about it, lol.
-
I do, however it's getting easier to get to my daily goal. The first couple of weeks it seemed impossible, but this week it's been more attainable. However....I haven't been eating as "good" this week as I should be...

Ditto on this. So much. I haven't worn a bikini since before I hit puberty.

Eat more. There's a reason the site gives you a calorie goal to hit each day. 800 isn't enough. Also, as far as I'm aware, you aren't allowed on here under 18?
-
Well in your case if you don't eat them back then your body has no calories to function on. Think about it logically: if you burn every calorie you eat, then what is left for your body to breathe, digest, move, etc. with?

The most annoying things show up high in sodium. It's frustrating and makes it hard.
-
I've been relatively inactive since the beginning of 2009(mostly just walking between classes and that kind of thing, no extra exercise). Before that I was fairly active a good part of the time.
-
This is something I've been having issues with. It's one of the reasons my food diary isn't open to the public, lol. Always end up with lots of leftover calories and very little sodium to spread around. I'm not much help, but posting so maybe we can both get some ideas.

Have to say that salt on watermelon is southern, not weird ;) When I was little I used to cut up hot dogs and dip them in honey. I don't think I have any weird eating habits now.
-
I've started weighing myself three times. The first one is always higher, and the last two tend to match up. It's annoying, but I figure that if it's off, it's probably consistently off, and consistency is the important thing.

Once I work my way through this box I may look into other rice, but as this one is nearly full I can't justify just buying more rice, lol, especially on my budget. Re: Aldi: It's an amazing place, if the nearest one to me wasn't an hour away I would do all my grocery shopping there, it's so cheap.
-
Bought a bag of these today, all of 94 cents, lol! Now I just need to experiment with them...

I'm on a $25/week budget (college kid here). I have a bag of onions that's lasted me a week so far, I always keep a couple of bell peppers (about a dollar apiece right now), a bag of lettuce (the one I have was maybe four?), and some squash in the fridge, also a box of instant rice (I know it's not as good for you as brown…

If you want to be like that, every article is an opinion, as no person is without bias. An intelligent reader/researcher will look at the citations for any article they read and decide from there whether or not it is worth reading and trusting, they will not simply ignore it because it is not in a journal.

It depends on whether or not my computer/phone is handy. I typically eat alone so it gets entered while I eat, however I tend to try to plan out dinner and plug it in when eating my second meal so I know if I need to add in some calories via olive oil or something.
-
I had a huge binge/cheat day on Friday, then got right back on the counting yesterday. This morning I had lost two pounds. A binge every now and then isn't going to kill your goal. Just move on and don't beat yourself up over it.
-
Oh no! My mistake! Bad Turtle, thinking people can learn something new. >.<
-
It isn't really an opinion piece when it is permeated with sources and citations. Perhaps you should go to the linked page and look at the constant parenthetical citations?
-
Sorry, I didn't read through the whole thread, but I wanted to give a shout out for this. I do this, add a little pepper. Pretty much the only sodium is what's in the chicken itself. So easy and the chicken never comes out dry.
-
Haha! One of the best ways to put it.

Just for the record: Of course we don't look like that, because we are not carnivores. We are omnivores, so we have teeth both to eat plants and to eat meat with. Goodness. It is nice to see rational vegetarians, vegans, and meat lovers in this thread (of course, mixed in with the amusing evangelists on either side).

I try to plan out earlier in the day and if I see I'm going to be super low I'll add in an extra tablespoon of olive oil when I'm cooking, or have some milk, extra cheese, something like that, instead of trying to add in a big snack or something. I still tend to come under my goal, though >.>

I look forward to getting a good semi-all-over natural tan again. I tan beautifully when I do and I used to be tan year round when I was little (probably up until about fourth grade) before I started gaining weight. Pools and lakes and rivers and swim suits I'm coming! I think the reason I tan so well is the good amount of…

I love peanut butter, straight off the spoon or on crackers, normally. It's great to get a few extra calories on those low days, lol.

Thanks guys, I'll keep all of it in mind when I head out tomorrow, too bad nowhere around here gives student discounts except for Bojangles >.> @martha: I love Aldi, but the closest one to where I am is roughly an hour away, I could go there perhaps once a month.
