Exactly. I usually enjoy Dr. Oz, but I didn't particularly agree with his idea of a "cheat" day.

Well he modified all of the "cheat" foods so that they were actually pretty healthy. It really was just a mental thing. It wasn't really cheating on your diet because it stayed within the calorie limit, and probably the nutritional limits too. It was more like cheating your MIND into thinking you could eat all your…

I'm watching the episode now, and it's not really the kind of cheat day I envisioned. It had nothing to do with calorie spiking (the day's total was 1400 calories) and included meals that I would eat on a normal day (the whole wheat pizza sounded yummy!). I guess he can't entirely endorse eating excessively, but what was…

This time is different because I have actually set a definite goal for myself. Last year I said I wanted to be 130lbs, but in my mind I didn't think it was achievable. So, when I got to about 137, I kind of figured that was enough. Now, after seeing so many amazing success stories on here I know that my goal is definitely…

I don't entirely understand what you're going through because my boyfriend has yet to be deployed anywhere. However, I do know what it's like to go without seeing him for weeks at a time. Use your sadness as a motivation to work out even harder. I find that if I'm just sitting around thinking about him, I miss him more,…

To wear a bikini in 100% confidence and not have to worry about finding ways to mask certain areas of my body with my clothes (i.e. love handles --> my nemesis). I also want to be able to see how toned and strong I am. I know it's there because I can feel it. It's just hiding under a small layer of fat that will be gone…

Thanks for the suggestions! When I get a little extra cash I may look into getting a heart rate monitor. I play in a women's league in Southern Ontario. I've been on the same team with a group of my friends for years. We get some pretty good competition and it's obviously lots of fun playing with my friends.

I love spinning. I've done a few classes in the past and I just went to a class as my school gym. It was my first time in almost a year and it felt great!

This looks good! I've already got my work outs for the day but I'll definitely try it sometime this weekend.

I hate the word diet too. I try not to use it because as you said, it implies more of a quick fix than a general lifestyle change. If I refuse an unhealthy treat, I sometimes get asked if I'm on a diet, and it always bothers me. I don't ever want to feel as though I'm on a diet. I usually just say that I'm eating healthier.

I'm 5'5" and I'm going for 130.

I'm aiming for 12lbs and yes, just to feel more comfortable and confident. I'd be happy to help!

I'm from Ontario too! I just started and wouldn't mind some friends and motivation myself. Good Luck!

Thanks! I guess 12 pounds is kind of a lot, though it always seems like a less significant number when I see how much others have lost. And I totally understand about being bad when my weight's low. I get to a low weight, overindulge and then I'm right back where I started. Good Luck to you too!

I've done both, and honestly, I think that Ripped in 30 is much better. There is a greater variety of strength and cardio movies within each workout and you move quicker through each move (about 30 seconds on each move). The 25-30 minute videos just fly by for me. I do like 30 Day Shred, but I found myself getting bored…
