  • :blushing: It's easy to be Internet-hot.
  • I did read the article, but I prefer to derail any thread possible in order to further my own agenda and perspective. ;)
  • I meant what I said in that thread as well. There are a lot of viewpoints that I have a hard time understanding. Accepting them, however, doesn't always require understanding. When we apply the filter of our own past experiences and viewpoints on another person's actions, things get really cloudy. It's pretty hard not to…
  • Careful with the stone throwing on this one. What about people who are comfortable with their bodies and their natural sexuality and choose to express it? I've known women who get a genuine sense of empowerment by spending their early years discovering themselves sexually. They are then able to take this experience and…
  • Was it a text message? He's trying to be romantic and sexy. Cut him some slack, that *kitten*'s hard to do via an onscreen keypad. Also, send him photos of your breasts immediately. ;)
  • Dammit, I missed it. It's gone now. I confess this is my first post in a confession thread. Also that I'm a serial killer.
  • I just had another thought. People who use and abuse other are generally (I would like to think) insecure and unhappy. Where would you meet people who were generally the opposite? Does anyone have ideas? Happy people tend to have hobbies other than picking up chicks at bars. Maybe some sort of activity group, group class,…
  • Or, you could *kitten* him on the first night and see if he calls.
  • I don't use people for sex, but here are some things I might to to indicate I was really interested in you: - Make plans ahead of time as opposed to "hey, what are you up to tonight?" - Make plans that involve more than "come over to my place and watch a movie" - Offer to bring you out with my friends (but this one might…
  • Those are all excellent points. Maybe a different way to do it would be to decide who to pursue before seeing any pictures. Then, look at the pictures and trim away the ones that there is no physical attraction to. Who am I kidding, I'll never do this. ;)
  • I've thought about trying it. The "blind date" thing on OKC is completely random and based on a location. I mean actually reading profiles and selecting a date based on what the person has written and your written interaction with them. Maybe even put a disclaimer on your profile stating that you can't see their pictures…
  • For starters - yes, squats and deadlifts are great. I change my routine up every 3-4 months, so sometimes there are more targeted workouts. Doing the same 6 exercises for the rest of my life would get boring. My last routine had this with side bends in a circuit: 1.) Heavy dumbbell in one hand - 10 side bends on left,…
  • Nice ones, Lauren. So when does one let the jail thing out of the bag? Hypothetically speaking, of course. ;)
  • My gym encourages dry humps. I'm pretty sure that's what all the MRSA warning signs are about.
  • Happy birthday Jen!!! Glad to have you on the board and hope you have an amazing day!!!
  • I went to the restroom on a date once. When I came back she said "Wow! You came back! I guess this must be going well". She wasn't joking around. Poor girl. She had a really severe nervous tick.
  • I chuckle when I see people do these with a dumbbell in each hand. Physics. One acts as a counter weight for the other and you aren't really lifting anything at all, other than the benefit you get from simply holding them. No offense if you are doing it this way, but please take a moment to consider.
  • Supposed to meet a girl at a coffee shop. She calls me last minute and asks me to meet her at a gym, says she is "just doing some pullups" and will wrap up when I get there. I show up. It's not a gym, it's an acroyoga studio. She is 40 pounds heavier than her pics and in a full body Jane Fonda like spandex outfit. As soon…
  • I sort of feel like I am in the Twilight Zone. I've been beaned to a dimension where the claim that Twinkies are unhealthy even requires a conversation. I'm out, good luck to you!
  • No, not a single food item. All of your macros as I said. Let's say someone did all of their shopping in the middle of the grocery store. All processed food. And one on the outside - all unprocessed. They are both eating an "exclusive" diet. If all food is healthy, they should both be fine, right?
  • I see you are very set on this. if you define healthy as "able to sustain human life" then, yes - Twinkies are healthy. We can agree on that. Let me try a different approach. We take two human beings in identical physical condition. Person #1 eats a diet entirely of Hostess products and processed whey supplements. They…
  • Haha, I was going to point this out but I don't think it would do much for my dwindling popularity in this thread.
  • [/quote] Food with little to no nutritional value and ingredients known to cause health issues.
  • This type of logic leaves no room for polite debate. Being open minded in a nutrition forum is probably healthy. Something got you here and it wasn't knowing it all.
  • Sounds like my opinion that unhealthy foods exist has caused you some sort of personal offense. It's not meant as an attack on anyone.
  • I think this is the part where we agree to disagree. It sounds like the word may just have different meanings for each of us, which I understand. You cinnamon rolls look delicious, by the way. Did you bake them?
  • I think we're arguing semantics here. You can incorporate unhealthy food into a healthy diet in moderation. I do it all the time. That doesn't make them healthy, though.
  • I think you'd have to take a look at the ingredients individually, but to start with, the high fructose corn syrup: "A Princeton University research team has demonstrated that all sweeteners are not equal when it comes to weight gain: Rats with access to high-fructose corn syrup gained significantly more weight than those…
  • "There is no such thing as inherently healthy or unhealthy food. " That's the part I disagree with. It's just my opinion, of course. What are your thoughts?
  • This is a popular opinion on MFP. I have to disagree with you. Twinkies are not healthy. When eaten in moderation with a healthy diet, you can still be a pretty healthy person in general though.
