40 year male from Hertfordshire, (Should) need to lose around 3 stone but I'm more interested in a healthy lifestyle than what a scale says.

Morning Hertfordshire here! There are a few UK groups, some with lot's of members too. Feel free to add anyone

All depends on work. My preference is getting to the Gym at 5am, it's empty and i can get on with the it. I always feel more energetic throughout the day to. Evening training I find a pain to be honest gym is full (some working hard... some admiring their reflection). So tend to stick with a bit of cardio in the evenings.

Go the Apps tab (here on MFP), there is a link on there. Once you find that it's straightforward and will link & sync the accounts.

Nothing will work unless you do!
-
Dude, that is amazing! Well done from another in Londoner!

Hey all, I'm in the UK too. Lost 17 kgs with MFP before. Then slipped back to my old ways. So back again 11 kgs down and another 22 to go! Please feel free to add me anyone. For all the new people, if you use MFP to track and for support it will work for you! Before starting here i'd never lost more than a few kilos here…

Can't think of anything that does it all (although watch this space as fitness devices seem to the rage within the tech world at the mo). I use my phone, Polar hrm and I've got a Fitbit Flex, between these everything is pretty much covered. (would love one device though). Currently in the UK they do a pink flex (donation…

Whatever you do... don't quit! When you don't turn into a muscle bound bodybuilder miraculously overnight he'll realise that the usual misconception is a load of rubbish, and he'll have a hot fit partner instead! (If you do pack on a load of muscle overnight, please let me know your secret though lol).

Ive got a brilliant game plan... I live in the UK so no thanksgiving! Turkeys just for Christmas here! Hope you all enjoy though... responsibly of course!
-
Welcome! Feel free to add me, theres lots of great supporters out there, I really find it helps! Any other UK people feel free to add me (if you're around Herts/N London even better). I need some more quality friends to help motivate me (Kick my *kitten*!). Always there to support others, as you get out what you put in!

Over time you'll find out what works for you and what doesn't. If you don't enjoy it you won't do it. I love the gym but can't go for the sake of it. So I took up a new sport and use the gym as part of my training. I have the rhythm of a concrete lamp post so any dance type things are out for me (think of a giraffe on acid…

Boiled Carrots! how could you! I hear all kinds of things, most of which just makes me laugh. I've never offered my opinion unless directly asked, but people usually just switch off when I say "eat sensibly & exercise". They don't want to do the work needed just take a magic pill / green gloop shake or similar. I…

Log it as normal! It just reminds you what you're eating, useful if you ever look back as I do. A cheat meal is good for body and soul every now and again. I probably wouldn't go for a cheat day unless I was at a wedding etc. Personally, I don't see any meal as a cheat meal, it's just a less than healthy choice... which I…

Forget about it! Just get back on it, I know an olympian who competes in a weight category sport. She had a day off her strict diet for a birthday! (yummy cake too!) Life would be boring if you didn't have something nice on occasions like your birthday, it's only one day. The important thing is you get back to normal…

Anyone who wears a kilt is always amazing!

You've done a brilliant job, well done. To fat, to skinny... some people will never be on board with you and will be negative no matter what. But I think you summed them up perfectly!

I'm in Hertfordshire, feel free to add me (anyone).

It's where I'm headed!

Personally I find Judo works for me, although i have to follow an all around training plan to help me cope with it being an all over exercise (Chicken & Egg, comes to mind). Other than that swimming and boxing i have found works.

Hertfordshire, Eng. Originally from Scotland and arrived here via various destinations around the world lol.

I really don't mind people who go to the gym, when it seems like training is not their real purpose, as long as; They are not in my way and they don't want to chat (other than could you help me, spot me etc, which is no problem). If you want to sit and chat, remove your backside from the piece of equipment your not using…

lol, I go at 5am for the same reason. graceful runner I am not!

Unfortunately this chap is right, you can't do both at the same time as you really need a calorie surplus for muscle gain and deficit for fat loss. I guess you need to have a think about what's more important to you at this stage and adapt your training and diet accordingly. I wish it wasn't so (I'm sure we all do!). Best…

Great job! Well done on all your hard work, your looking great and I'll bet you're feeling it too!
