  • I'll give it a try as often as I usually do, which is not as often as I should but still every few days. I only get bad cramps during the first day of my period, but when I do sometimes it's enough that I have to stop. And no matter how many times people say that exercise helps with it, it never seems to for me. If…
  • I do this sometimes, it helps me a lot to a) not keep any food in rooms other than the kitchen, and b) keep a bottle of water or similar in the room where I computer/read/whatever and more in the fridge. The first mainly means that I notice when I'm going to get food, and then can stop myself or consciously go for…
  • Yoga pants or the more sensible pajama pants are okay if you're just going to the close store or if you're a college student on campus. Nightgowns or anything particularly lacy/impractical not so much.
  • MFP's calculated calories for normal activity do vary by your input weight, but you have to tell it to update the goals, it doesn't automatically change it with weight change. It doesn't adjust the results by how fast you lose weight, but uses a formula based on physical stats. It also goes to a minimum of 1200 a day, so…
  • nevermind, i'm too tired to be posting on the internet today
  • If you can get food to go, you could get a serving and measure it somewhere else, then use that amount, plus possibly a buffer to estimate in the future? Otherwise, my best guess would be to assume things are about the same as water (8 oz = 1 cup) and then just add a 1 oz buffer over the estimate for every amount.
  • American, fourth generation Californian. I suppose some sort of European mix, but I honestly couldn't tell you what. All my grandparents were born in the US, and I think my great-grandparents were too.
  • biking or jogging 30-50 min, 4 or 5 days a week DDR for up to 2 hours, 1 or 2 times a week I kinda feel like such a slacker looking over this thread.
  • If I can get the costume together in time, I'm dressing as CLU from Tron Legacy. My friend's doing Rinzler, and we're going to try to get it all wired up with EL tape so the circuits will glow :)
  • I was apparently leashed occasionally when I was younger, because me and my brother found the leash and asked what it was. I don't remember it, so I'm assuming it was when I was <5 with a 2 year younger brother. By the time I was old enough to look where I was going and come back when called, I wasn't on the leash anymore.…
  • There are bands where I get the whole album and it's great together, or start only liking a few songs but could see myself liking the rest. There are ones where the album has a few songs that actually ruin the rest of it for me, whether because of a jarring theme shift or a song I truly dislike (this tends to happen more…
  • Personally, it's a toss-up between getting to eat those extra calories and exercises I find fun for me. If you don't enjoy exercise or food, exercise still helps with your strength and/or cardiovascular health depending on the type you do, and can help make your body composition be less fatty, which many people find helps…
  • Part of it is that the MFP calories estimates are for a continuous high level of the activity, which you're likely not getting during any sort of several hour activity. You'd basically have to take out all the time you took a short break, filled out notes or paperwork, were talking with coworkers or customers, and possibly…
  • There are two general ways to measure activity on MFP: the activity levels you talk about and how it logs exercise. You can use the activity levels for your daily activities not including exercise (work, school, transportation, whatever) and then log exercise separately and it will give you extra calories for the days you…
  • If you post in a topic, it puts it on your list of topics you have posted in on your profile. This means you can find it again later without having to search the whole forum.

  • I have a cheap analog scale, so to get an accurate reading, I make sure my toes go all the way to the front of the scale, bend my knees slightly and lean forward to where it shows the maximum for that position. Otherwise it can read off by up to 15lbs.
  • I like swimming, so long as there's not lightning, because I'm going to end up wet anyways. Other people don't tend to agree with my logic though.
  • 1% milk, butter, yogurt, cheese(coulommiers, cheddar, asiago, feta, and those mini babybels), eggs, pork sausages, chicken garlic sausages, tuna, cantaloupe, carrots, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green onions, celery, serrano peppers, garlic, pumpkin pie (1 piece left for my roommate), chocolate pie, noodles(they say…
  • Like any of the other simple guidelines, it's an average and will be accurate for the normal (in this case normally proportioned) people. At 5'7" and 195 lbs (and not primarily muscle) hardly anyone would say I'm at an ideal weight, but because I have a significant hourglass my waist is only 33 inches, which is fine by…
  • I'm trying to figure out what's up with the left side of his face. I'm assuming photoshop, because there a part between his hand and shoulder doesn't line up with the parts at his hand and shoulder
  • Currently Nillili Mambo, Evacuate the Dancefloor, Time on My Side, Derezzed, and Jingle Hells Bells, but it varies a lot.

  • What about the times it's just being used as, you know, an accurate descriptor? Like half the shrimp I've seen lately has pointed out that they're "low in fat" on the package.
  • I think it really depends a lot on what activity you are used to and what intensity you are capable of. It took months before I could get any sort of good feeling from jogging, but it was easier for me with swimming or fencing. I've never been good at running, but I've been swimming frequently since I was little.
  • Generally I drink water with mio, I also intermittently have 1% milk, juice(sometimes diluted with water), diet root beer, coffee if I need caffeine, and chamomile mint or lemon tea. And the occasional alcohol but that one doesn't hydrate. I also make veg-noodle soup for dinner at least once a week, which I generally count…
  • Started at a 38E, still a 38E 30 lbs later. Same chest measurements and everything. Really frustrating because I'd really like to go down a size or two. I've mainly lost inches off my waist so far, so maybe the next 30 will come off elsewhere?
  • Shoes - I needed new shoes anyways Sports bras - $50 Scale - $20 Food comes out about the same, and I didn't get specialized workout clothes. So $70ish over the past year. But my apartment has a pool, and my college has a gym that's free for students. And I was already pretty much doing dinners from scratch half the time,…
  • WHO actually recommends .83 g protein per kg, which comes to around 11% for a 65kg person on 2000 calories per day. For a larger person, or a person eating at a deficit, this could be a greater percentage (for me it would be more like 16%). Or for a smaller but active person it could be a bit less. But I don't think it…
  • I'd either count it for an hour or two, or bump up my activity level for the day. It counts for something, but definitely not the same as walking for the whole time.
  • Something like an egg roll but with sweet lime filling the dining hall served as desert, garlic ice cream, fish and squid ceviche, and the sandwich from this thread http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/692783-omg-a-sandwich-to-effin-die-for-omg-omg I can recommend all but the sandwich.
