muscle doesn't weight more than fat, 16 oz of muscle and 16 oz of fat are still one pound. I think what people WANT to say is, one pound of fat takes up a lot more space than one pound of muscle, as muscle is more dense. I have a photo I can share of that, not sure how to add a photo.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I hate when that happens.

Woot, it feels so good, got a personal trainer, I've been running for awhile now. Thanks for the challenge.

Yes, this is what I mean, I put in all the weights I do, and it doesn't mark any calories burned at all. I feel cheated.
-
Let's keep going.......like the energizer bunny!
-
Why do I put in my weight lifting and it doesn't show any calories burned. After 40 minutes of lifting today, I'd think I would burn a calorie or two.

Thank you

I just hired a personal trainer to help me get it together. She walked me thru it all on Monday. Today was my first day 'going it alone". I've been running, but no strength training. I am pretty sore, but feel so great to have a goal. 5 min warmup on treadmill Chest Press 3 sets of 15: 10# Lat PUlldown 3 sets of 15: 50#…

No idea how to get started with weights, have flappy arms and hate it, I hate summer because of long sleeves. Any pointers, or ideas? I'm 56 and just started running last year. But cardio isn't the only answer, I know.

It is hard, we all know it, good job and yes, YOU CAN DO IT! I can't believe that you were told that by anybody.
-
very cool, congratulations, it's not an easy journey

I have been doing C25K , completed it once and am going thru it again, I bow to you for doing SHRED, I am scared to death to do it. The last time I tried it I was sore and could barely walk for 3 days. YOU GO GIRL! That's one good reason to get a tape measure, it will motivate you, you'll see results.
-
Measuring tapes are available all over for about $2, Walmart, fabric stores, even the hardware store. Go invest in one. It will keep you from getting discouraged. YOu need to see results. Your clothes should also indicate that you are losing.

OMG, I meant Tonic Water...........that helps tremendously.

I have a few runners I work with, they drink club soda to make it stop. I tried it and it works.
-
you look like a totally different couple. Congrats! I know what a struggle it is to do it, but like you, once my mind is made up I'm doing it.
-
what an inspiration! You look awesome, believe me, I know how hard it is to persevere like this! Thanks for sharing.

I did C25K, finished it and am now going thru it to gain speed and time. I sweat like a hog, get tired, but push myself to do more. When I started it I had to take breaks, could only walk 2.5 MPH, now I walk 4MPH and run 6-6.5 or 7mph. It is all a process. Keep going, dig down and keep going, it will be worth it. I feel…

I am 55, took off 40# I think since June 1st. I am not starving myself, I am running, doing stairs, walking and just staying active. I have no pictures of me to show now. I do have a before, but have to learn how to get it off my camera and uploaded to here, I think this site is hard to get photos onto.
