Eh, wasn't a huge fan and ended up canceling. If I'm going for a "healthy" snack option I want something that isn't loaded down with crap. Take a look at the ingredients of their most of their products and it's a long list of garbage. Except some of the nuts or dried fruit of course.

Did you go to a doctor who specializes in sports medicine?

I don't do a video program like Insanity, but I do strength train with a program. It's 4-5 days and I was still marathon training. Only way I was able to do it was by doing double workouts with one in the morning and one at night. Once I reverse taper after this marathon I'll be back to strength training and running 3-4…

I don't go by MFP's macros. I calculated those numbers on iifym.com and try to hit those each day. Some days I'm a little over or a little under but that's ok.

I really wish people would let the poor thing rest in peace. It's been through enough.

Currently paying $75/month for 24 Hour Fitness Ultra Sport. Giving up that membership for Equinox in December which will be $115/month thanks to the BF's corporate discount.

Flax egg instead of using regular egg. You can use applesauce, greek yogurt, or coconut oil in place of the vegetable oil.

Totally agree with this statement. If not your doctor, seek out the help of a registered dietician. They'd give you much better advice than the rest of us can. Good luck on your journey!

I've prepared Thanksgiving the last two years for my entire family and will do so again this year. I do it after running 6-7 miles in the morning. That is exercise. I don't count the 7 hours I spend cooking (with no help since my mom isn't a great cook) because it's not exercise.

The women has a point about all the overweight children running around these days, but she doesn't have to do it like this. Just don't give out candy. But, It blows my mind the amount of obese children I see now. When I was in elementary school there were very few overweight children in my entire school. Now, whenever I'm…

On the K-clan note, they can take Kanye West with them. After I read this morning he tried to compare Kim K to Michelle Obama I have never been so over someone in my entire life!

I always drink a big glass first thing in the morning. When I walk into the office head to the kitchen and grab a bottle of water. I make sure I drink a bottle by each trading deadline I have which is every two hours. At home a drink a few more glass. Also, I don't drink anything other than water, tea, or coffee. On the…

Yep, when you're training for a distance race it's recommended you eat 60% carbs. Granted, I tend to do about 45% and only go up to 60% when I'm carb loading the week before a full marathon. Which I'm currently do right now. Good luck with your running! Always here to answer any questions you may have.

I'm 5'3. Wear size 24/25 jeans, size 00/0 in skirts, size 0 or 2 in dresses, and size 0 or XS in shirts.
-
Well, I'm 5'3 like you. I run ALOT which means I eat tons and tons of carbs (something you'll need to work on with half marathon training.) Added you!

I'll have to respectfully disagree with this statement about speed work not being for slower runners. My running club has us doing speed work once a week. The workouts are adjusted for the different levels of runners we have. Speed work isn't meant to be easy it kills you no matter what level you're at. People do train…

I wish! I'm always cold. My feet and hands just can't seem to stay warm. On the subway this morning I couldn't feel my feet and its only 40ish degrees today. I'm eating at maintenance now for a couple weeks and it is not changing a thing!
-
What!?? I just....just can't. Please take a seat in the corner and refrain from giving advice ever again!

Nope, I live in Manhattan. They're pretty good at clearing the roads. If the roads aren't clear they'll tell you to stay off of them.

Yum, bumping for later. Going to try these this weekend.

When I go for coffee, I'm going for maximum caffeine intake. So it's a coffee with a little soy/almond milk for me then add some cinnamon to it. Less than 10 calories. I don't like to drink my calories.

Stock up on cold gear and a really good winter running jacket (mine really helps with the wind when I'm running on the river). I try to stick to cleared sidewalks or run in the street when we have snow. I try to run slower as well.

Agree with dynamic stretching prior to a run. I do stretch afterward and believe it's very important. Not doing this landed me in PT with an injury for 3 months earlier this year. Not fun when you work by Central Park and see all those runners, it's torture. I do dynamic stretches prior to my run and follow it with more…

Nike Women's Full Marathon, my 1st full, 4:06. I'll take it considering I ran injured and stopped regularly after mile 18 to stretch out my right quad since it was killing me. Just know I can do much better.
-
Congrats on your first full marathon!! Such an accomplishment! I just ran my first this past weekend too came in at 4:06. Killer quad issues.....well started with a killer knee issue but that's a long story, around mile 18 that caused me to stop and stretch almost every mile. I was disappointed but I'm going back for more…

#20 is so true. I crossed the finish line of my first full marathon this past Sunday. I almost cried like a baby and I will never forget that experience. #25 When people come to you for running advice since you're a runner or say you inspired them to start running you also feel like a rockstar.

I'm all about a good burger and fries but McDonald's.....bleh. If I have a burger craving it's Shake Shack for this girl. If I'm feeling a sit down burger it's the lamb burger at the Breslin yum.
