I use the Nike + GPS watch, but if I remember correctly can't you just press run and go without setting up a distance? The app still gave feedback on distance and pace along the run.

Post run I'll do protein powder with water then eat something like a banana or I'll just blend a frozen banana with the protein powder and water. I stopped adding PB and almond milk ever since my RD told me fat actually slows down nutrient absorption. Definitely don't want that.

Salmon, salt, pepper, lemon juice. Place all ingredients in a foil packet and seal. Place in a 375 degree oven for about 20 mins. Serve with a a side of roasted asparagus or baby bellas sautéed in coconut (or olive) oil and fresh basil.

If I'm reading your question correctly you're asking if one long run day a week is ok. That's actually what most runners do. My long run day is always Saturday where I run anywhere from 10-22 miles depending on my training. Every other run is anywhere between 4-10 miles depending on the day of the week.

Another reason I love living in NYC. The walk from my apartment, to the subway, out of the subway, and to my office is almost 3,000 steps. However, I work my butt off to stay in shape. I run a lot, I'd say about 45 miles a week in offseason (more than that when marathon training) and I'll hit the gym 3-4 days out of the…

For running that depends on your gait, which you need to have analyzed. I spend a lot of time in the gym on top of road running, but I would never use running shoes to cross train.

That's typically what I do, but sometimes I find myself eating way less on days when mileage climbs above 15 mi. If you're going to do TDEE I highly suggest your carb level is at least 50% because your body will need it. I take mine down to 45% when I'm not marathon training running only 130ish mi a month along with…

I'll just go ahead and post a major obvious. The Paris Marathon. You just can't beat running the streets of Paris or the city in general. There's just something magical and charming about the place. Plus, what better place to post marathon indulge.

This post is rich coming from someone who doesn't even have a full grasp of healthy weight loss. You boast about eating only 800-1200 calories daily and have the nerve to judge people for creating healthy attainable goals? Girl bye!

You look absolutely amazing!!!! Congratulations on all your hard work!

For running gear I buy mostly from Niketown. I have a few things I've picked up at Sports Authority. I used to buy tons of Under Armour bottoms but I've found that I go through their tights too quick. So now I just buy their tops. For the gym, I have tons of Lululemon.

Peanut butter, almond butter, almonds, cashews, avocados, brown rice, whole wheat pasta to name a few things you could eat. Add coconut or olive oil to food when you cook.

It actually kills my appetite. It's a struggle to eat anything when my mileage climbs above 15. What makes me hungry is the combination of running, heavy lifting, and HIIT.
-
Congrats on your new PR! Totally loved reading this since I went to college at UT. I had few friends from undergrad who ran this one.

I thnk you'll have to find what works best for your body. The morning after I raced the NYC half, I went out and ran a slightly slower 9 miler. I don't believe in zero week after a half and I only do a mini taper. However, that's just what works for me. I didn't even do a zero-week after my last full marathon. See how you…

Too close together? Not to me, I just ran the NYC Half and 6 days later ran the Sleepy Hollow half. Granted I raced the first and ran the second easy. Just be sure to listen to your body. There are plans for back to back halfs like a reverse taper. A half doesn't tear your body down like a full does.

Highest in one day, about 2800 during my last full marathon.

Totally agree. Probably a first year analyst and I wouldn't put it past a summer analyst. I don't know a single person working in finance making 500k that consider themselves to be rich.

You do realize it's ok to admit you're wrong? We'll never know everything and when someone points out we're wrong it's an opportunity to learn. You're devolving into 6 year old fighting tactics and it's destroying your credibility to argue your point. It's ok to say this is what works for me, but something else may work…

OP I suggest you take your advice from the people here who've had actual and long standing success. Do what works best for you and just stay within your calorie goal. I often don't eat for 4-6 hours after waking up. I get up and head straight to they gym to lift or head out for a run.

Grilled chicken breast, side of roasted sweet potatoes, side of roasted cauliflower, and a side of fennel salad. Finished off by a vegan chocolate chip cookie. The beauty of being an endurance athlete.....tons of food.

Cookies & Cream is so good! I'm addicted. White Chocolate Raspberry is a close second.

Gnarly Whey Chiseled Chocolate is my favorite. New Zealand Whey with zero artificial sweetners, colors, or flavors. The taste is amazing!

NYC Half Marathon new PR of 1:36!
-
You can feel free to add me! Just did my 6th half this past Sunday PR of 1:36! Have my 7th, 8th, and 9th between now and May 17th. I also have my 3rd full marathon in about 3 weeks.

Equinox is the same way. I've never had an issue with it. If they didn't I'd have it auto deducted from my account every month anyway. I honestly don't see what the big deal is......

The maid changes my sheets and she comes every two weeks. I really hate household chores.

I agree with what many said above. 1200 calories is definitely not enough. I see you said you eat back your excercise calories, but I would suggest trying the TDEE method if you're going to push half marathon distances. I've done several halfs and a couple full marathons. It helps to have a set amount everyday. If I were…

I love this idea! I live in Manhattan. I'm currently registered for the NYC Half in March, Paris Marathon in April, Nike Women's DC Half in April, and the Brooklyn Half in May. Registered for the Manhattan Half tomorrow, but I don't think I'll run it. I'm always looking for new races around the area to run.

I'm more concerned about slippery roads. I didn't run the last two days because I was slipping on my way into the office. Got out there this morning and it was about 7 degrees. The coldest I've run in was about 6 degrees with a winchill of -2. I refuse to get on a treadmill.
