Not from New England, but why don't you consider setting up a park run?

this is the link to the US site - though not so many of them.
    http://www.parkrun.us/

I'm in Ireland where they're very active www.parkrun.ie I know they are very popular in the UK also.

    Just a thought.

The Northern Rail Trail could be a very nice location for this and/or cycling...

There are a few trails around Massachusetts that are good too. And there is one, I'll have to look it up, that is absolutely beautiful in the fall. Goes around a pond.

I would be interested in joining this group. I am just starting my weight loss journey but would be interested in walking/running a 5k in the fall. I am in Portland Maine and we have a great trail system here which could work as a biking get together. Here is the link http://www.easterntrail.org.

Hi fellow NE---I'd be up for this group! Sounds like a nice way to meet people with similar goals....I like the fun runs! Love to do a color run, one of those glow runs too. I've done the triathlon in Webster MA with Danskin....hmmmm maybe up for that again, not sure!

Awesome! I was actually going to run a 5k in Portland in November but my plans fell through.

I'll join up. I'm in Boston and run new England races. I'm currently signed up for Half in the Hampton's at Hampton Beach Feb 23 and I'm registered for the B.A.A. distance medley in Boston. I like the idea of meeting up with Mfp friends at races but it hasn't worked out yet.

I love this idea! I live in Manhattan. I'm currently registered for the NYC Half in March, Paris Marathon in April, Nike Women's DC Half in April, and the Brooklyn Half in May. Registered for the Manhattan Half tomorrow, but I don't think I'll run it.

I'm always looking for new races around the area to run.

I will work on starting a group tomorrow. I was up near Boston all day today so I couldn't do it, but tomorrow should be a little more laid back.
