Fifth Avenue mile on Sunday. Just doing it for the 9+1 entry into next year's NYC marathon. The following week I'm running the NYRR Bronx 10-mile. Off to pick up my race day materials.

Leg swings and a few ankle rotations. Then high knees, butt kicks, standing quad stretches, and a few other warm ups from my track days. After injuries it's just so important for me.

For weight loss, yes it's that simple. Eat whatever you want at a deficit and you'll lose weight and lean muscle mass. For a lot of people on here that is their only goal. If you're focused on fat loss, then that requires being much more mindful of what goes into your body. You'll need to keep your macros in check so that…

In college I used to love having McDonald's breakfast right before class. The big breakfast is like 1090 calories!! Eeekk! My favorite sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit like 600 calories not including my hash brown, and drink. I haven't eaten McDonald's in a 3 years and I still can't believe I blew calories on such low…

Doing a Six Week Power Shred along with my marathon training. Certain days are power days (lower reps higher weight) and other's are shred. (lower weight higher reps) I've tweaked it a little bit to fit with my running but here's my routine at the moment. Sunday: Morning: Run 5-6 mi Evening: Chest/Tris/Abs (Power) Monday:…

Quest bars are awesome and you can make so many yummy things with them. For protein powder, Go Gnarly is high quality and tasty.

The comment about the education was a bit naive. I'll admit I worked there in undergrad while getting my degree in economics as did several other girls who were in college with me. I'm not saying everyone was like this but several girls I worked with are now professionals in the financial services industry, lawyers,…

My only suggestion on how you should deal with it is to figure out what is causing your knee pain. If it's flat feet, weakness in your quads, etc you need to work on correcting that. On the heart rate question, no clue. I only care about my pace.

Don't understand the demonizing carbs get. Carbs are fuel. I could never train the way I do on a low-carb diet. If I don't get enough carbs I feel like crap.
-
Feel free to add me. I've been an athlete pretty much my entire life. Currently working out 6 days a week split between lifting, HIIT, and running 50ish miles a week (in the height of marathon training right now). Always here to motivate my friends.
-
Adding you! Love running and have several distance races coming up this Fall.

You tell your family you can't go home to visit any weekend in September because you don't want to miss the long training runs with your run club before you taper. Then tell them you won't see them until November because your race schedule won't permit. Yeah, they'll have to wait until after I run the NYC Marathon.
-
Ah, don't miss that feeling one bit. You might need to look into what you're eating prior to your longer run. There are somethings I can handle on short 5 mile/40 min run that would destroy my stomach on a 16 mile run. Experiment with what you're eating to see if there's a difference. If it's not food related then take…

When you work out your arms lift heavy.
-
You can add me! I have one 10-miler, three half marathons, and a few 10ks under my belt. Adding two more halfs, two marathons, and another 10-miler between now and November.
-
Thanks! I've been hill training like a maniac for that race!
-
You can definitely add me! I have a few half marathons under my belt and will be adding a couple more before my first marathon in October. I'm running the Nike Women's Marathon in SF. Then because I'm insane and wanted to help the charities running NYC marathon 2 weeks later.
-
I'm about 5'3 and currently eating TDEE-20% which has me at 1831 calories a day. I work out 6x a week.
-
I'm just like you. When the mileage gets high I struggle to eat enough. I do my long training runs early Saturday mornings and a lot of those days I'm still in the red for calories at 8pm. I have to force feed myself or eat peanut butter by the spoonful. Which isn't so bad.
-
You can add me! I focus equally between strength training and marathon training. I lift heavy 5 days a week and run six. Also, we'll be at the same starting line in Staten Island on Nov. 3rd.
-
I regularly eat peanut and almond butter by the spoon. Love when those long training runs let me do it.
-
You are speaking the truth! Thankfully it's cooled off the last two weeks in NYC but for awhile I was running in 85 degrees and 95% humidity at 8am! I just had to slow down my pace and not beat myself up for having a tough run. Thanking God that Fall is drawing near.

Shower, do hair, do makeup, get dressed, head to work, then pick up breakfast on the way or in the corporate cafeteria.

Just realized I originally posted 131lbs and not 13lbs. Oops sorry!!! But, yes I have melted away the fat and am looking better than before. I was training before this on around 1500 calories. I was always tired and had the skinny fat look. Not this time. I have insane energy, I feel great, and I'm more motivated than ever…
-
Exercise 6 days a week. Five days twice split between strength training and marathon training.
-
I eat my TDEE-20% at 1831 calories and I'm 5'3. I've followed if for 60 days. I started out 13lbs heavier than my pre-injury weight. I'm now back into my smallest jean size (which were way too tight 60 days ago), my ab lines are showing again, and I look better than I did before. I've concentrated on fat loss over weight…

Same. I wish I could get that many miles out of my shoes! The most I got out of a pair was a little over 500 miles before being forced to get a new pair.
-
It's totally worth it. We call it magic tape in my run club. I use it on my knee and ankles for long training runs and for every half marathon. My physical therapist wrapped my knee in it. I wouldn't dare go without it.

Yes it did by this exact member. It's obvious that you're obsessed with VS models. A word of advice, stop idolizing them. A lot of what you see in VS ads is photoshop and to get their body runway ready they do unhealthy things. I see models walking around every single day and most of the time they look nothing like what…
