  • It does get easier and I tend not to think about it so much now. I've even started pre-logging my day and when I pack my lunch for work. That way I know what my macros are, if I need to up my protein or fat for dinner, or lower my carbs, etc. I adjust at the end of the day if I deviate from whatever has been planned. Doing…
  • I second the salt intake. As soon as we upped that my husband and I both felt worlds better!
  • haha spatula! .....15 year old tumblr user....that made me laugh! and thanks purple...actually that last few days I've been able to keep my carbs to under 50g and I have felt 100% better! That's worked out to an average of 8% of my daily cals. I'm thinking that the most effective macros for me are also the 10/65/25 split.…
  • I didn't check last week but I did this morning....there are trace amounts. I've been under 50g per day for the last 4 days. The last two weeks I was between 50g and 100g per day, so not really sure if any amounts would be detected. Based on the hunger I still felt, I'd say that there wasn't. :)
  • Actually today is Day 21 for me :) My husband and I are definately sold on this way of life for sure! He transitioned very easily.....me? Not so much but I'm still on board and enjoying the benefits! The biggest struggle for me is breaking my sugar cravings. at about the 16 day mark I finally caved to the sugar cravings…
  • Feel free to add me too if you like....my diary is open to everyone regardless I think. I do eat dairy so I guess I would consider myself Primal :)
  • Thanks everyone! Actually, I had originally had my macros set for 15%c, 20%p, and 65%f....that was great for the first two weeks. As soon as I hit the two week mark, for a couple of days it was as if I hadn't eaten all day. Even at 2000 calories! It was extremely distracting! :) My aim was to keep carbs between 50g and…
  • Feel free to add me too....I'm a few weeks in and consider myself Primal as I do have some dairy. :)
  • I definately have my eye on a few different recipes!! Problem is that I'm not entirely sure that I can limit myself to one serving yet.....haha. There's a carrot cake and nut bar that I'm dying to make :)
  • We have done the "Shrek Smoothies"....what we called green smoothies. lol. She likes to make them, just not drink them. Some days she will love something and of course I go out and stock up, then she won't like it anymore. Either way, I'm always enforcing healthy choices. As she gets older she will know which foods are…
  • Fortunately my husband is fully on board with the Primal lifestyle and is loving it as much as I am. My 8 year old daughter however, is not. LOL What I'm constantly doing which drives her crazy is harping on her about protein. Since she is a somewhat picky eater, I always have her 'choose her protein' first if she's not…
  • I'm not a huge fan of ice cream....chocolate is my vice :) However, I'm a few weeks into Primal and have been scouring recipe books in order to keep things interesting. While doing so, I have seen several Paleo ice cream recipes in lots of different flavours. Maybe one of these are decent? lol
  • I've started eating Primal 2 weeks ago as well....LOVE IT!!! I'm pretty sure that there is a section on marksdailyapple.com or elsewhere online that has a plan or information on eating Primal for endurance athletes. Should be easy to find if you google it. :)
  • haha!! I love what mikeflymike said....'if we get to discuss my weight, then we also get to discuss yours'. AWESOME! the only thing you can do is make it known how you feel and then go from there. if they keep bringing it up, then tell them it's not even up for discussion and change the subject. if they continue to harp on…
  • When people give me advice that I"m not interested in, I tell them that they are free to do what they want, and I do what I want because it makes me FEEL better and that's all that matters to me. I FEEL GOOD! Period! I remind them to feel free to take care of their own health however they please :) As far as your boss…
  • guacamole, pork rinds, veggie sticks, jerky? bacon wrapped stuff......scallops, asparagus, dates, etc. etc. I will have to try that ribs recipe...:)
  • that's great, thanks for the ideas! I've found that the more prepared I am for the week, the easier it is to follow.....trying new recipes is helping a lot too! :)
  • Ooops, sorry about that. Thought my diary was public. Is now....I'll bet you're right. I struggle with protein, especially now that I'm trying to avoid processed products. I'm currently set at 15%c / 60%f / 25%p I wasn't really sure what my macros should be and these numbers seemed to be about the average of most I've seen…
  • We sleep with a fan on now for 'white noise'. It seems really strange without it now. :)
  • Thanks for your reply! I actually just got back from a kickboxing class and am relieved to find that I had noticeably more energy than I have had in any other workout since starting PB. Thanks for the welcome too....my girlfriend had gone Paleo for a short time about a year ago and said she had never felt better when…
  • I just recently made a Coconut Curry Chicken that was amazing!! Very simple too....I don't have a link to a recipe, but basically it was: - 5 chicken breasts diced (brown and set aside) Saute: - 1 onion - half red pepper - garlic Add: - 1 can coconut milk - a couple of tablespoons of chili powder - red pepper flakes Return…
  • I don't know if this has been suggested as there are just way too many responses to go through... My husband has made some amazing progress since I got him a FitBit. He loves gadgets, it links to his phone, he can see throughout the day how he is doing 'movement' wise. he even loves that it tracks his sleep. It has…
  • I struggle with protein and really despise preparing raw meat too....lol - protein shakes and bars a good grab and go snack - cottage cheese - smoked salmon is great if you like it - hard boil eggs and keep them in the fridge for salads, snacks, egg salad, etc. - canned tuna / salmon - fish, pre-cooked shrimp, seafood I…
  • I've always taken the approach that if I feel like going out, I'll go....if I'm not really feeling it, I try not to stress about it. There have been several times (especially in the winter) where I've been planning to go out for a 30 min run, and only made it about 15 min and said forget it!! LOL Another time early in the…
  • LOL...I find that chocolate always helps! Everything! :) I find that I go through phases too....I'm also building from 5k to 10k. I'm using the same app I used for the C25k. I'm not pushing myself too hard. If I have a lot of time and I feel energetic, I'll do one of the 10k training programs. If I'm short on time, or…
  • congrats on starting the program!! I am such a fan of C25k :) I NEVER thought I could be a runner and now I LOVE IT!! :) 1. The program is designed to do the 3 days per week training, but if you feel like you can do more, then by all means, get out there and enjoy! Once I started seeing progression (which was almost…
  • Maybe change it up and do some short interval / tempo runs.....There are all kinds of different apps that keep it fun. What about the zombie run app? I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard it's a riot! Also, like someone else mentioned....I'm a lunch hour or late afternoon runner. No chance I could ever get out of bed…
  • I've used it in a few recipes like stuffed peppers, etc. but the easiest one I do by far is: - 1/2 cup quinoa (rinsed) - 1/2 cup steel cut oats - 1/4 cup organic brown sugar or raw honey - 3 cups water (you can also use milk, or half milk/water) - cinnamon - throw it into a slow cooker on high for a couple of hours and…
  • Yay!! That's so incredible and you've been on such an amazing journey! You should be so proud! I am proud that I am on your friend list....I see how hard you work and you have earned every pant size!! :):):)
