This!!! You are NOT eating for two!! Also, if you already have an exercise routine in place, keep at it unless you are high risk or your dr says otherwise. That includes jogging! If you're a runner, keep running! There's a girl in my bootcamp that came to classes right up until the last week or so of pregnancy...she was…

I forgot to add that I do have the stress where everytime I have an routine exam done like an oral exam, blood, whatever, it is always in the back of my mind that I smoke and am playing russian roulette with my health. I find that I hold my breath until I get my results and then can exhale a big thank you that I've been…

I don't have a personal health scare, but there are those around me that do. I am also a 20+ year smoker except for 2 years when I got pregnant. I started again when my ex-husband and I separated and that was 6 years ago. You can't look back and live with regret. What is done is done. What you CAN do is look forward and…

Those sound like typical symptoms that I read about online today. lol If they persist, perhaps check with your Dr as they may be side effects of the Champix (Chantix? Think it's with a 'p' in Canada)... My girlfriend had a bit of an issue with depression when she was on it. She had to really keep aware of her thoughts and…

I'm going to really make an effort to stay within my calorie goal of 1750 per day...that's about a 15% cut from my TDEE...and we shall see if I can make the 5 lb gain a myth and not a given! lol I know people who've gone both ways when quitting. one girlfriend lost steadily as she did a total lifestyle change and a couple…

That's fantastic good for you!! I was hoping to go for a run tonight but I wasn't able to work one in. will maybe do some lunges and push ups just to keep me out of the kitchen and divert my cravings....been a bit of a rough day for those...:) Let's keep up the great work and the support! Hopefully soon all of this…

Thank you for the words of encouragement! This afternoon has been especially difficult. Lots of anger, lots of irritation and the threat of tears! LOL I just had to go out and walk around my office building. Actually feel a little better after doing that. Hopefully my 'peak anxiety' day is day 2 and will be smooth sailing…

Let's hope it gets easier quickly!! haha Congrats on your one week today!! :)

Congrats on your two week acheivements guys! I'm on DAY two! lol I was terrified of the weight gain thing too....a couple of years ago, I gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks, then started smoking again. Now I've just gone cold turkey and am trying to take it one step at a time. Question for guys....you say you're gaining, are you…

You are absolutely right!! no way I want to struggle through day 1 again!! :) I think it'll be an early night for me and then can put this day behind me as victorious!! Haha!! I'm looking forward to smoother sailing shortly! congrats to you on your success!!

I have a small one at home and love it for different reasons. the benefits I find? it has increased my circulation, and my core strength. I do planks on it, dips, squats, etc. sometimes I just stand there but I tuck in my pelvis and engage my core. I find that it helps flush out lactic acid from my muscles and I'm not as…

I don't keep myself from eating it....I just fit it into my daily calorie allowance and have a smaller portion. :)

Hi All... Just some words of encouragement to those considering this approach. :) As an update to this post from a week ago, I've since lost 2 lbs and 0.4% bodyfat. I've been eating around a 15% cut rate for the last week or so. I have a running injury and haven't been able to get to bootcamp, and have had to scale my…

30 min is definately enough! I was of the old school of thought that you need to workout for hours in order to see results. Consistency is key! The exercises are different everyday, and the program changes every week. We'll do 20/10, 15/30, 15/45 tabatas, complexes, etc. etc. We usually end with a 5 minute cardio finisher.…

Yep that's me too!! check out EM2WL on this site and read the info on their board. I'm 5'5", 40 yrs old, 132 lbs and eat on average about 1800 cals per day. I don't kill myself at the gym either. I lift heavy 3 x per week, run 2-3 x per week either doing intervals or a longer run of 5-7 kms. Edit to add: I had…

Nothing is impossible...the very word itself is 'I'm possible' 'Just Do It' (I use that one a lot! lol) There are results and there are excuses.....you can't have both!

Haha...yes well I can recall sitting in the parking lot before class trying to quickly come up with an excuse to leave before it started in case someone saw me....lol I'm friends with the trainer now and she has no problem calling me out on our Facebook page to everyone!! it's a great group of ladies and they are very…

Are you eating back your exercise calories to NET 1200? I made that mistake early on and stalled out on my weight loss pretty quickly. When I eat too few calories, my body holds onto everything it can with a vengeance!! I did a pile of research and joined the Eat More to Weigh Less group on here and have restarted the fat…

There are a lot of women with different fitness levels in our group. The trainer always offers easy and difficult variations on most exercises. Just go at your own pace. You can make the same exercises much more difficult as you gain strength just by using heavier weights and upping your speed/intensity. The very first…

This is just my opinion, but I don't think you need to do 3 workouts per day....it may be that your muscles are holding onto water as you've taxed them quite a bit this week. Weight loss is primarily from creating a calorie deficit. Whether it's by your intake or by exercise, or a bit of both. I've 'dieted' a million…

I go to bootcamp 3 times a week and run a couple of times per week. The bootcamp is intense enough to see results and definition quite quickly in just the 30-40 minute sessions. I make sure I push myself with heavy weights, and when those become a little 'easy' I up the poundage. It's made a real difference in my body…

I use the C25K app by Run Double. I've completed the program, but still use it for pace and distance. They have timed runs, distance runs, fun runs from 20 min to 2 hours, and also a bridge to 10K. I think it's a terrific app and recommend it to everyone who runs, or wants to run. :)
-
I use the rundouble one on my Android and LOVE it!! I started it in june and can now run 5k's a few times per week....I had to repeat a couple of the weeks as I didn't feel I was ready to move on at their pace, but I am so glad I did it! for me, the app made all the difference! Because it is on my phone, I can use the GPS…

Like someone else just posted, it's not because you will have lost weight that someone is attracted to, it will be your confidence, positive attitude, and zest for life that you project when you feel good about yourself and have pride in accomplishing your goals. People naturally want to be with other people who are happy,…

I've been on every diet you can think of to lose (and gain) those stubborn 10-20 lbs. this time around it's been a lifestyle change. more of an awareness of what I'm eating. I haven't deprived myself of anything but I do watch my portions and overall calorie intake each day. aside from the last week or so :) There is also…

That is terrific! I also wanted to give you guys a bit of an update on my holiday indulgences... I have inadvertently been eating at my TDEE and above for the most part for the past week and a half or so. I have been keeping up with my workouts but not worrying about my diet so much. I've still been logging, but not…

I had the same trouble when I was eating 1200 cals per day. I completely stalled out for weeks!! I couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing weight if I was creating a large deficit.....turns out I wasn't eating enough and my body was holding on to whatever it could. As soon as I upped my calories from 1200 per day to 1400…

You will be able to eat that much and still lose. As long as you are burning more calories than you are taking in then it works. :) Just make sure that you are keeping up with the activity level that you've set for yourself to calculate your TDEE numbers. And if you really think about it, If you've been set at 1300 cals…
