  • Also, on the main page of your phone app, under 'weekly' there is a graph which will average out your total calories per day for the week. It'll show the days you were over (in red), days you were under (in green) and your weekly average (in grey). I refer to this all the time and make sure I generally average my daily…
  • I posted this a few days ago so the days I'm referring to in here will be a bit off....this is what worked for me, and has been my 'ah-ha' moment!! I did a lot of reading and researched the TDEE / BMR numbers, etc. as I had been eating the recommended 1200 cals for months. I did really well at first and lost 7 lbs pretty…
  • Yes!! That's WHY I exercise so consistantly....so I can eat more!! :):):)
  • You haven't sabotaged anything! you enjoyed your lunch. fit it into your calorie count for the day. easy peasy....if you're a little over today, try to be a little under tomorrow. I try to stay within my goal for the weekly average.
  • I did a lot of reading and researched the TDEE / BMR numbers, etc. as I had been eating the recommended 1200 cals for months. I did really well at first and lost 7 lbs pretty quickly. then nada.... I couldn't figure out why since I was only eating between 800 - 1200 cals per day net. Doesn't a large deficit equal large…
  • There are donuts in our kitchenette EVERYDAY!! And....my desk is the closest to them. :) If you really want something, then fit it in your calories for the day. If you aren't depriving yourself, then they eventually lose their allure....I RARELY have any of the stuff that's at the office anymore. Mind you, I couldn't say…
  • I hate cooking!! I am the queen of assembly! I buy ready made salads, just need to toss and serve... steam in the bag broccoli or green beans....then I toss them with a bit of olive oil and crushed garlic, throw a few sweet potatoes in the oven on a sunday and they are good for a few days.... uncle ben's bistro brown…

  • Yep, I weigh in everyday too....but only log it in when it's a new low. That way it's easier for me to see where the bigger losses with the shorter time span happened and can go back and see what my week looked like food and exercise wise. Sometimes there won't be any log in for up to two weeks with that new low, but if I…
  • My advice would be to do your best to get rid of your 'whatever' attitude and do your best to stay on track with the appropriate calories for your needs....I had a whatever attitude and gained 100 lbs!!! mind you I had some ridiculous fluid retention, and I had quit smoking, but that was still over excessive!! I've managed…
  • I had one for months that made me crazy!! I did a lot of reading and researched the TDEE / BMR numbers, etc. as I had been eating the recommended 1200 cals for months. I did really well at first and lost 7 lbs pretty quickly. then nada.... I couldn't figure out why since I was only eating between 800 - 1200 cals per day…
  • Don't you love it??!! :) I really noticed a difference when I started really pushing with heavier weights. Make sure to fuel your body though. There are a lot of people here who do at home workouts like Insanity, 30 day shred, and P90x. Makes a huge difference from only doing cardio!! There's also a book I think called the…
  • I know what has worked for me....I had been eating low cal, working out, and had stalled for months! I did some research on BMR and TDEE, and figured out where I should be calorie wise. I have UPPED my calories to a NET of 1450 per day, so I eat back all of my exercise calories for the most part....some days I'm under,…
  • I would consider a 'day' being from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed....you're body doesn't know what time it is. :)
  • I usually have 2 LG Tims with cream and sweetener everyday.....I just fit it in to my cals. :)
  • You can have pizza....just fit it into your calories for the day! I am a snack food junkie and everytime I've tried to 'diet' in the past, I would avoid all of the things I love and then breakdown and binge! Now what I do is have a little bit of the foods that I love everyday! I have chocolate after dinner every night and…
  • thanks for all the posts! I'm not feeling guilty at all, was just curious what everyone did. I was actually away for 4 days, and it resulted in a 3.5 lb gain. I know most of that is water so I'm not stressed about it....the only minor disappointment was that I had gotten within 8 lbs of my goal before I left and I know it…
  • I actually got in quite a bit of exercise while I was away and was back at bootcamp bright and early this morning! lol My plan was to scale back my calories a bit each day for the next few days just to balance out the last few days and hope that I can get back on track right away....I was curious to see what others do. :)
  • Absolutely! I'm a dips and sauce person too...I don't give them up though. I've found low calorie alternatives. low cal chip crackers with salsa or low fat artichoke and asiago dip, baby carrots with hummu, apple slices with peanut butter, low cal prepared gravy with chicken, low fat cream cheese, etc etc. I don't…
  • There are a lot of HIIT workout apps available, and lots online too. I've always had more success and fun in a group class. Do they have any kickboxing, body pump, strength training type classes available at this gym? Since you got the membership at such a great deal, would you be able to spring for a couple of personal…
  • The more water I drink in a day, the less my body holds on to. I make sure to get in lots of water after a high sodium day. Be forewarned though... be prepared to be running back and forth to the bathroom every 15 min or so. lol Not so great if you have a job where you're on the road a lot!!
  • awesome! I heard a saying somewhere that was 'your run starts when you forget that you're running'.....was a super cool feeling for me the first time that ever happened!!
  • I just do my own thing and he does his. He eats the healthy stuff I make, and is happy that we don't have a bunch of junk in the house. My results and transformation inspire him to get his butt to the gym and think twice about hitting the drive thu....:)
  • Build it into your calories for the day and have one. Or half. The less I deprive myself of the foods I love, the easier it is to stay on track. :)
  • I had to get my husband to undo my sports bra last night because I couldn't get my arms up behind me to reach the clasps...lol
  • bump....I'd like suggestions from experienced runners too. I started C25k in June of this year and I am HOOKED on running!! LOVE IT! :):):)
  • Don't feel embarrassed or sensitive about your decision to make healthy choices and exercise! Whenever anyone has ANYTHING to say about what you're eating or the workout you're about to do, just look them dead in the eye and say 'I LOVE this! I LOVE the way eating well and exercising makes me feel! I sleep better, I look…
  • I used to do the 1200 cal thing too....stalled out for 3 months. Tried eating back exercise cals, not eating them back, etc. etc. I did some research and decided to go by the TDEE numbers and have had instant results. I calculated my TDEE at Sedentary which is 1607. My BMR is approximately 1340. TDEE at 1607 - 15% is 1366.…
