This is a biggie!! Try adding more whole foods to your diet everyday. The more you add, the more your body will crave them, the more the processed stuff will fall away when you realize how great you feel without it. Fit in all of the things you like so you don't feel deprived, but add more whole food choices where you can.…

Super easy ground chicken chili: - Brown 2 packages of ground chicken with half diced onion - throw into crockpot with 1 can crushed tomatoes (low sodium if you like), 1 small jar of salsa, 1 can rinsed kidney beans, and 1 package chili seasoning. - cook on low for 8 hours. easy peasy! I make this a lot!

Yep, go heavier and do less reps. Even if it's 4-6 reps for 3 sets. You'll soon gain strength and be able to do 3 sets of 8-10 reps, then can increase your weights again and repeat. :)

That's great, thanks Sara....I will tweak as recommended. :)

That would be great, thank you :)

Yay for you! I quit over a year ago in January.....I did it cold turkey and was stubborn about it. It was as simple as never putting another cigarette to my mouth again....ever! Getting over the withdrawl and cravings wasn't so simple. lol. My family had to bear the brunt of my mood swings and irrational behaviour for a…

just a polite bump :)

Thanks for replying :) I prefer a 4 day split as I have some knee issues and time constraints, shorter workout seems to work best. however, I'm open to alternatives. My focus right now is to retain LBM and lose fat. I've spent the last couple of months building strength which I'm happy with, and now with summer coming,…

Just a friendly bump :)

I just passed my one year anniversary last month. My strategy was to just be stubborn about it and never put one to my lips again. Period. N.O.P.E. = Not One Puff Ever. I was a pack per day smoker for over two decades. Then just quit cold turkey. Was I a zombie for the first 3 days? YES! Was I craving one desperately for a…

There's a primal / paleo group on here that is pretty supportive if you need additional help.... My husband and I did the 21 Day Blueprint Challenge a while back. It made a world of difference for my husband and he continues to eat that way today. Turns out that grains really have an adverse effect on his digestive health…

This plus 1 more.... The difference for me is how those calories make me FEEL. I feel better when I eat more whole and un-processed foods. I make room for junk too. However, the healthier I eat, the more I get to eat. :) I also found that as I added more wholesome foods into my diet, the processed stuff just started to…

One of my at home go-to's is a burpee challenge. There are a couple of ways to do it, but one easy one is: every minute on the minute do 10 full burpees. Then starting the next minute do 9 full burpees, then at the top of the next minute do 8 full burpees.....all the way down to 1. Ten minute workout and trust me, you'll…

Not really contributing to your original question other than you should aim to lose fat at a reasonable rate while trying to eat the most calories you can to do so (moderate deficit).....you'll feel so much better over all. :) In regard to quoted above, I just wanted to offer my support as my situation was very similar to…

I learned to like it with just a bit of cream. But as someone else said, add cinnamon to the grounds and even salt helps for some reason.

^^ There are quite a few people who cycle calories like this and it works great for them. There are also plans like 5:2 where you eat higher and lower calorie days, intermittent fasting, etc. They all 'average' out to 'x' amount of calories for the week. Finding something that you're consistent with is what will work best…

There's a relatively new book with a workout program that has both a whole body and a lower body glute specific programs called Strong Curves. I haven't tried that program but have started a schedule that I got off the Bodybuilding.com website which is glute and leg specific with some upper body thrown it. I add a bit more…

Nuts are a very big calorie surprise when you weigh/measure them out..... Dumb question here, but are you using the same scale to weigh yourself that you had before? Some are off by quite a bit!

After plateauing for quite a while after I'd found MFP and lost on the recommended 1200 cals per day, what worked for me was to INCREASE my net calories based on a TDEE calculator. As soon as I increased my NET from 1200 cals per day to 1500 cals per day, the scale started to move and my bodyfat % started to decrease. I…

I will typically squeeze in a HIIT workout somewhere in the day.....something is always better than nothing, and I just feel better if I move. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/10-full-body-workouts-you-can-do-in-10-minutes-flat/#axzz2g13cWR4l It usually ends up being the burpee ladder or the sprints. :) You can basically do…

Aside from the aesthetic reasons, and aside from the biological reasons like bone density, joint health, etc., let's consider the practical reasons..... Each bag of groceries that you carry into the house can weigh two to three times more than those little 5 lb weights that are unfortunately recommended for women all too…

there's a Paleo/Primal board that may be able to help.....a bit of white rice (which has less 'anti-nutrients' than brown surprisingly), white potatoes, quinoa, beans, corn.....unless you're off all grains and not just wheat.

Staples for us are: - Beef jerky - coconut oil - almonds - walnuts - we microwave bacon and keep it in the fridge....great for when you have a craving for something crunchy and salty. - hard boiled eggs - mini cucumbers - smoked salmon - pork/turkey/beef taco meat...I know that the seasoning isn't the best, but we use the…

I toggle back and forth with cardio. Sometimes I want to go for an easy run and clear my head. Other times I want to get it done quick and dirty! When I have days like that, then I always turn to HIIT exercises. Usually sprints or burpees. They really get your heart rate up! There are a few examples below....there are tons…

ditto here....except that we will buy them the day of so my husband and I don't eat them all before hand. LOL My daughter has always inadvertently been a Primal 80/20 type thing. She was never a big bread or cereal eater anyway. She likes oatmeal and the occasional side of rice. She is more of a 'picker' than one to sit…

I made these last week and they turned out amazing! The only difference was that I used 3 large bananas (instead of 4 medium), and used regular butter instead of coconut butter. I'll be doing them again in the next day or two but as someone else mentioned....tough to stay out of them! :)…

You may also want to consider that having a PR mile may have left you a bit fatigued as well. I know that I tire quickly and struggle a little more when I am running at a faster pace than usual. Also, there is quite a bit of information on line in regard to endurance athletes and training while living a Primal / Paleo / LC…

I don't know if it's more expensive for food in Canada or that I'm crappy with a budget, but wow you guys are awesome at keeping your food costs down! I easily spend $200-$300 per week on average for 2 adults and 1 child. I spend more with an extra trip when my two step daughters are with us for a weekend.....but this also…
