I agree with others, get a food scale and also I do not eat ALL the calories burned from exercise. I think MFP way overestimates. I do maybe 200 more on a workout day. It's mostly about the food, less about the type and amount of exercise for me.

Well it is a different story if he is asking you for suggestions. Your first post didn't clarify that! I do a lot of egg whites with low fat cheese and salsa in the morning, or oatmeal. Lunches are big salads. Dinners are a meat, lean beef, grilled chicken, lean pork, and a veggie such as brocolli or green beens. Snacks…

Let him figure it out on his own. My husband sure hates it when I "act like his mother". He joined after me and has surpassed my weight loss as it is easier for men in some ways. My hubby is 5'11" and would look awful at 154. Your first step should not be figuring out his ideal weight for him. He can do that on his own. I…

When I started exercising I stalled for about a month! I think it was my muscles storing extra water while repairing themselves.

genetics play a big part also, as does breastfeeding. i am strength training and do not have the best boobs ever unfortunately :) adding, mine have shrunk and I would like some of them back.

boot camp class!

I do half a banana before workout at 5am, then come home and microwave some egg whites (in a bowl with pam spray), add some low fat cheese and salsa. That keeps me until 10, when I do a greek yogurt. Then I do a salad with chicken at 11:45. But yes, on my morning workout days I am much hungrier and pack an extra snack :)

My baby is 8 and a half months old. I gained 20 during pregnancy, due to gaining about 15 pre-pregnancy and then being on a gestational diabetes diet during the pregnancy. At 3 months post partum I joined MFP and counted calories only for 3 months. The last two and a half I joined a boot camp class 3 times a week. I ended…

As with all of your other posts, you should seek professional help.

Smaller bat wings (less flabby back of my arms)! I didn't even notice but other people have!
-
I do half a banana or a 90 calorie, high fiber granola bar. Those seem to work for me.

I think if you go the percentage off of TDEE route, you do not eat exercise calories. That would not mean a gain of 4 lbs in 4 days though. That must be water weight.
-
What is your BMR and TDEE? My TDEE is around 1,700. No way I could eat up to 2,100 calories a day and not gain. I think MFP overestimates calories burned as well and I only eat half my exercise calories.

I have been to boot camp faithfully for 2 months and this morning I did the 5:30am class! No more heartburn! I bought a skirt in a size 8-my wedding dress was a 14! Because I made a change in eating, my husband decided to a month later and he's lost close to 40 pounds!

True, she said her maintenance was 1,600. That does not mean 1,200 for life.

I am in! Going to do 25 or so now!

5'2", I have lost 25 pounds in about 5 months, and that is with a little cheating on the weekends. My boot camp instructor the other day, who is as short as me, said during a particularly hard workout "5 pounds looks like 15 pounds on us and we have to work harder". So true!

The lol, I am assuming, is because sedimentary is a rock form. Sedentary is the word that you would use for activity level.

I gained 5 in Vegas last weekend, and it took until Friday to lose it. So it's definitely water weight! You will lose it all.
-
Don't worry, you are doing great! I lost weight after I was diagnosed at about 20 weeks or so. I lost weight for 4 weeks, then maintained for 8! I only gained a few during the last few weeks. Trust your blood sugar meter and don't worry about anything else. 3 months post partum my fasting number was 101 when they wanted…

Gestational diabetes is a strange beast and is related to your hormone levels during pregnancy. So some things may not apply that would to diabetics. If your numbers are within range, stick to what you are doing and don't worry about what this website has decided is a good number for you. Your blood sugar checks are what…

I had gestational diabetes with my pregnancy (my baby is now 8 months old). I personally could do no fruit at all. It didn't work for my sugar levels. I know other women who could though. So it depends. You will have to see what works for you. For me, I could do no carbs for breakfast at all or my after breakfast numbers…

175 to about 152, I'm now 148 and 5'2". I still have about 18 to go!
