  • With our first, we ended up using the regular similac. The only suggestion I can give is to get a bunch of different sample packs to try because every baby is different. Also, if you or your husband have issues with dairy products, you might just start the little one out on something dairy free and then try to change it…
  • 12 pounds at 21 weeks
  • I am feeling good. 21 weeks completed! It seems to be flying by now (probably because of the holidays and trying to teach my 40 month old son to learn to use the potty). Haven't been starving like I was with my son, so the weight gain is at 12 pounds. I started my physical therapy about a week ago and have been twice now.…
  • 20 weeks and 10 pounds. Although Dr.says 12.
  • As far as the bleeding goes, it is really heavy and you can pass thick clots. Also, all of those mom's with other kids know the smell. It is hard to explain, but the best I can explain it is "earthy". Be sure to not bring good panties with you to the hospital as they can get dirty with old blood and take some extra thick…
  • Got my PT and specialist appointments scheduled today. The specialist won't be able to see me for 2 weeks! I just want to make sure my little one is okay and I have to wait THAT long? Geez!! I will also have to drive all the way across the city for my physical therapy appointments. Apparently there is only one PT place…
  • We had our 20 week anatomy scan today. Baby has a 2 vessel umbilical cord when it should have 3 and a chorionic plexus ( a bubble of spinal fluid on one side of the brain). Not too worried about it though because it is usually associated with a severe defect and she didn't see anything, but I get to see a perinatologist…
  • Week 19- up 8.8 pounds (averages out to 0.46 pounds per week)
  • I would suggest lots of hot chamomile tea with honey for the sore throat and a humidifier in addition to what your doctor told you. I know it is not fun and hope you feel better soon.
  • I hope everything is going great for everyone in this group. I know there are some mom's that haven't been on the board since the beginning of their first trimester and I pray everything is going well for them. I haven't been on in the last week or so b/c I finally feel great and have been trying to catch my house back up…
  • We haven't started looking at names yet for this one, but with our first he was insistent on having a one syllable first name. I am not really sure why because our last name isn't really long. Oh well. I liked Ethan and he wanted Luke, so we compromised on his name being Luke Ethan because Ethan Luke didn't sound right to…
  • EmilyRanae- I am 17 weeks and haven't talked with my ob about my ideas but this is my second, and she delivered my first.
  • Fyi- taking a probiotic helps too!
  • Help! I need an accountability partner that is faithfully tracking everything they eat and exercise. Please friend me!
  • Hi everyone! Just got back from my 15 week 1 day appointment and everything is good! Baby's heart rate was 160, and the best part was my 3 yo son was able to hear it! I got my flu shot and scheduled my next ultrasound for November 30th. I have been feeling good other than some SI joint pain in my left hip and my Doctor…
  • If it was me, I wouldn't wear any shape wear while pregnant. Just the thought of squishing things around in there and possible even the baby doesn't sound very comfortable. If I was able to, I would take it to a tailor and see if they could help you out.
  • I usually peel, and cube them. Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil, and then sprinkle a little salt and fresh ground pepper on it. Roast it that way on a cookie sheet at 400°F for 45-55 minutes. Be sure to turn it a few times while roasting. You can even add other spices to mix it up if you want.
  • Well I am officially starting my 2nd trimester today and wanted to drop in and say hi! I am 14 weeks today with our second and the first trimester seemed to drag on. I dealt with constant nausea and exhaustion, but no throwing up, from weeks 6 to 12. I am now feeling better, but still tire easily after doing house and yard…
  • Thelaser- I actually belong in the April club, but I wanted to give a helpful tip for grocery shopping. I used mint tic tacs and peppermint gum to help me. I hope this helps! Don't stress too much about the house, family should understand and maybe you can ask your husband for help. It does get better, hang in there!
  • I agree with the previous posts, but wanted to add that if it doesn't get better after a couple of days you should let your doctor know b/c it could be something else.
  • I did an hour of raking leaves and bagging them today. Will be doing that tomorrow as well.
  • Congrats to all the newbies to this group! I am now 13 weeks and 1 day (due April 23rd) and have been having a lot of round ligament pain the last couple of days. I guess it isn't really pain, but more of a constant discomfort. Anyone else in the same boat? I don't remember having all of this with my first so soon, but I…
  • How is everyone feeling lately? I have been starting to feel like a normal person within the last week or so. YAY! I will be 12 weeks tomorrow and went to visit my family this weekend and told everyone about baby #2. I had made a tshirt for my son that said "Big Brother" on it and let him go show it off to the family and…
  • I was just like this from weeks 4 to 11! I know my husband loved it because he loves to eat out. I just didn't have enough energy to take care of myself and a 3 year old, clean the house, and everything else I normally do. I don't know if my husband has gained any weight yet with this pregnancy, but he has gained probably…
  • Had my ultrasound today and baby looks great ! Moved around a lot and measured exactly where I thought I was (11weeks and 1 day). This still leaves me with a due date of April 23rd.
  • First appt done! Everything going okay so far. My due date is still April 23rd based on my lMP. I will have my first ultrasound on October 3rd (I will be 11 weeks then). I did get all my labs done too (4 tubes of blood and a urine test).
  • I am now 7 weeks and have my first appt tomorrow afternoon. I think I have every symptom known to man now (nausea, food aversions, joints ache, exhaustion, and as of yesterday a really strong nose). I have been slacking on tracking my food because I like to preplan what I am going to eat and i end up having to redo…
  • I have Erin O'Brien's prenatal fitness fix and enjoy it. I don't think she is too cheerful either.
  • Fyi- you don't have to buy something labeled as a changing table. We just used my old dresser that we still had from before we were married and it has worked out great. He will even get to use it for a long time! As far as the bed goes... We spent a little more to get something he wouldn't out grow in 2-3 years (one of the…
  • I agree that early induction should only be done for a medical reason and not for convienence for the doctor. With my son, I was given cervadil (sp?) to ripen my cervix at midnight 5 days after I was due. That started my labor at 2am, had to give me another cervadil at 4, got my epidural around 8. I was ready to push at…
