With our first we used to all go for a walk pushing him in the stroller or the front carrier when my husband got home from work. I would make sure to feed him first then head out the door right after we were done. With this one I have more success doing a workout DVD in the mornings after the little one has eaten, gone…

I just realized that I never posted my birth story and it has almost been a month! I went in to the hospital to start my induction on April 2nd when I was 37 weeks pregnant (due to medical complications posted elsewhere in this thread). I got my cytotec cervical ripener at 10pm. At that point I was 1.5 cm dilated. I…

Gained 30 pounds @ 37 weeks, but have only gained 2 pounds in the last month. This is all I will have gained because I am being induced tomorrow night. Yay!

With my first, I never noticed losing my plug, but I noticed it with this one while wiping after using the bathroom. It was kind of like a glob with a brownish/pink color. I had it every time after I wiped on Sunday then it stopped. Still haven't gone into labor, but have had a couple of contractions yesterday and today…

Laura - I don't have exactly the same situation as you, but my understanding is that with your first you can efface first then you dilate. As far as being only 32 weeks, I would expect that if it was a problem your doctor would have talked about giving you steroid shots to develop the baby's lungs if he thought you'd…

After this week of irregular runs of contractions she is now fully engaged in my pelvis (0 station) and I am 1 cm and 50% effaced. I hope she comes next week because all of these contractions are driving me crazy!

For those still looking at this thread I am going to copy what I posted in the 3rd trimester thread. Here is my week 35 update. I went in to my OB yesterday for my twice weekly NST and her heart rate was too high again. After being on the monitor for an hour and not seeing it stay down consistently, my OB got me in for a…

Here is my week 35 update. I went in to my OB yesterday for my twice weekly NST and her heart rate was too high again. After being on the monitor for an hour and not seeing it stay down consistently, my OB got me in for a ultrasound with my high risk doc (1 floor down) an hour later. The only problem was I had to stay…

Congratulations Rabbit_food! RBXChas - I would ask your pharmacist what they think, but I am pretty sure Zantac works the best when taken as a scheduled dose and not as needed. That way your are not having to wait for it to start working and can take the tums in between if needed. But I would make sure to ask your…

Thank you everyone for the kind words. This last week has been complete chaos. It started Monday with my previous post, then on Tuesday I spent all day on the couch except to make meals. I called my OB that afternoon to let her know about the constant heaviness and tightening whenever I was on my feet. I got sent back to…

Just got back from my very eventful morning/afternoon. Went in for my NST and her heart rate was too high (180's), but she looked okay. So she sent me over to labor and delivery to be watched longer after trying to consult my high risk Dr. After getting me hooked up her heart rate was 140's to 160's and was going to watch…

Update... Just got back from my maternal-fetal medicine doctor and having my 33week ultrasound. I also started my NST's 2x a week last Thursday. She is looking okay. The umbilical cord varix is still there, but blood flow looks good. She measured at 4 pounds 6 ounces, so she still growing! I did find out that she will be…

Emily- I hope everything is okay!

32 weeks and up 23 pounds.

Thanks! I never really had those sharp pains with my first.

First of all, congrats to all the new babies! Secondly, I have a question for all of you. I am 31 weeks + 4 days and starting yesterday I have been having increased movement along with a sharp tingling sensation in my privates. Anyone else have this? Do you know what could be causing it?

Went in for my 30 week check up yesterday, and am doing well. Starting to get tired easily, so despite my iron levels being on the low end of normal, I am going to start taking a little extra iron every day. Hopefully that helps! Baby girl seems to be growing alright, and I have only gained 1 pound in 2 weeks (for a total…

Went to the high risk doc today. Baby girl does have an enlarged vein in the umbilical cord, called umbilical cord varix, she reassured me that baby girl is doing good. Weighs 2# 13 oz at 29 weeks and measuring right on track. We will just have to watch her closely and make sure she keeps growing and the blood flow through…

I just noticed as well! Congrats! Hope you and baby are doing well!
-
My first was also a two vessel cord, with no other issues and I carried him past term. I am just worried about the vein being too big. Thank you for the prayers!
-
Happy February to all of you too! I went to my regular OB yesterday for my 28 week ultrasound and checkup since I have a 2 vessel cord. I am up 21 pounds so far which is more than I intended, but should still be less than with my first where I gained a total of 39 pounds. Our baby girl still doesn't have a name yet, but we…

Pregosaurus~ I agree wtih EmilyRanae. The hip and back pain can be unbearable. With my first I didn't get any pain until the last month, like you, but with this one it all started around 15-16 weeks. With my first I did get a maternity belt from my OB's office and that did help because I was carrying him so low. With this…

Well, I am finally there! 3rd trimester here I come!

I wanted to say thank you for the suggestions. I went to our library and am reading "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" now. I wish I had read it for my first pregnancy! So many good ideas and information. I also checked out a local LLL and plan on going to their next meeting the beginning of February.
-
Thank you both so much for the ideas! I will check them out.
-
Emily- I can totally relate to the belly button being weird. Right now mine is starting to act like it will pop out. Weird because with my first it never did this. I guess the saying " every pregnancy is different" is true! I just finished my 26th week (due 4/23) and I can't believe I will be starting my last trimester so…

It's a girl!

Thanks everyone for the prayers. Anyone else been having braxton hicks contractions? I have been getting them at least once a day for the past couple of weeks, sometimes 10 a day. Nothing regular and not painful, just uncomfortable tightening across my belly. I usually just lie down on my left side and drink a couple of…

I went to see the specialist this am and the cyst in the babies brain is gone! I do indeed have another baby with a 2 vessel cord, but baby is growing great and no anatomy issues. Weighs 1 pound today and they will just monitor the growth a little closer than normal.
