Well you can disagree, but the fact remains that for most people, if your job is a sedentary job, you should choose sedentary, whether or not you do any other exercise if you are going to log it. If you don't, then most people's, mine, and other users I've looked at and the OP's baseline calorie burn assumption will all be…

But see, you ARE "a slug", so am I, in my work. IF you are not on your feet all day like a teacher, you belong in that category, its not a lie, its how you do the MFP method. I walk the dogs daily, hike mountains and lift weights almost daily, I do exercise length averages per day longer than you most weeks from what I…

I used to think its ironic nobody is interested in the real answer unless its something "sensational" too. But, the big problem is, if people are genuinely interested, they want something they can "take with them" to do themselves. "Watching what I eat" is not something you can take with you...what is that exactly? How?…

Hmm, so people have gone about this the wrong way, and physical performance is what is proof to you? Then, she shouldn't follow you, you should follow ME to the gym, I'll put you and an equal weighted friend on either end of the bar and do bench presses with it. Following your train of thought here, this proves to you I'm…

Hmmm, so Mr cvc wont accurately measure some foods, doesn't measure other foods at all that he consumes, goes by a HRM for calorie burns which are not really accurate (though relatively good compared to other measures for aerobics), is inaccurate enough with spelling to make consistent inaccuracies with weighing even more…

Go have a medical exam by a doctor. That could be all sorts of things, the info you gave does not make it clear, it could just be something simple like low blood sugar+dehydration after intense activity, or a mini seizure, or a heart insufficiency, or stroke...

You can't cheat and go find a different company's label, that doesn't apply here! :) Your info also seems to lie about the salt..*trace*...no way unless you got unsalted. From experience, about 400 cals/bag sounds right though, its what I try to go with, when I dont log it as labeled and it gets all screwed up.

You are right ^ bag image wouldn't load before, so I was going by what was said for servings etc above, but now that I can see the image, this seems correct. Very very confusing. Approximately 4 cups in a bag if all pop, and the box contains 3 bags, which each contain a possible 4 cups. This is the 12 cups, which have on…

So far we have people coming up with somewhere between 105 and 1080 calories...I'm sure it wasn't labeled for clarity ;) But yes, its 420 OR 540 calories (because they give two measurements that don't agree with each other). But then you have to subtract the amount that doesn't pop to be accurate...which means you have to…

If you insist on logging liquid, I would log all the liquids, unless its alcoholic liquid. This cups per day requirement is made up, there is some evidence four cups per day may show small reduced disease risk for certain people in certain diseases though, and that's including all sources of water, not just "cup of water".

Well since fat is 3,500 calories per pound when your body burns it, and muscle is 900 calories per pound when your body burns it, you obviously burnt up your bones! Since bone is about 556 calories per pound if you exclude the fatty marrow, and we can't actually digest and use all the proteins that make up collagen in bone…

Its a very good article to get people to understand how bad relying on these measures can be, I think prediction is the term that should be used, since getting your body fat "measured" is much more like a weatherman predicting the weather, and the image is better for people to understand how it works, there is much more…

Well, should I use a similar figure of speech and point out how that's a lame brained response since you used 'nitpicking'? This is a significant issue that not many are educated on and important to keep bringing up over and over. Its very simple: words have meanings, and if you re-define them or mal-use them to deceive,…

This kind of sounds like someone suggesting eating tons of cabbage and beans for the same filling and gastric effect...except this is much more expensive.

Also if you are just looking in the toilet, the above may actually be the cause! Excess nuts in the diet can cause excretion of oil in the feces, which may not be completely washed away with a flush, which could cause you to see oil, which you identified as "ketones". Never self diagnose yourself by a toilet…

Eating healthily at an Indian buffet is so easy, just fill your plate full of everything, eat it, and return at least once or twice. Otherwise your appetite is not healthy, and your self control is too high.

There are large variations between people, and depends on your fitness level, any medical conditions and resting heart rate. But since your primary goal is to lose weight, I'd worry more about how your legs, respiration rate and lungs feel to determine a rate you can sustain for a reasonably long workout. Exact HR isn't…

Oops, you are right, can you tell I'm not a runner? :) But yeah, I think the deadlift x2 bodyweight is much more of a standard and more impressive than your 5k. Comparing just anyone's time on a 5k or 10k is like comparing just anyone's dead lift, and most thin people with low bodyfat % will have a relatively OK to good…

Looks like you got a "C" from Runner's World. I'd say the dead lift over 2x body weight is definitely a bigger achievement ;) Runner's World Age Graded Calculator Your Gender Male Your Age 48 Race Distance 5k Race Time 33:40:00 Results Age-Graded Score 0.72% Age-Graded Time 29:55:23 Your age-graded score is the ratio of…

Meh, there are plenty of young novices with little to no training that can run that pace, but few young novices will go into the gym and start deadlifting over twice their bodyweight immediately. In fact it used to be a fitness test minimum speed in school to run a mile in a much faster pace than that, and you cant even…

It can normally drop that low and lower for some people as they get fit. Mine is always been in the lower range too, and dropped as I got fitter, its 40bpm occasionally as well, but I dont have 80-100 lbs to lose, or a weak pulse...that is unusual, but still could be you over thinking it and not the least bit of a problem.…

Great job on the 1700 club! I wish I was there with my old lifts... I haven't tested many max lifts recently, but I know I'm far from 1700 currently. Gotta say though, your warmup bench routine, do you really find so many reps helps you?: Bench Press 45x60, 135x20? I don't tend to go above 12-15 reps almost ever, but 45x60…

Ouch that sucks! Yeah getting a spotter that I trust and old injuries is what keeps my bench from progressing much recently. I want to get back up to 425 but I need someone I trust to go over 315, reps with 265 is as high as I go with random spotters...psychology and safety...

Cellulite has nothing to do with dairy, unless you are slathering it on your cellulite areas and its causing an allergic reaction or inflammation, it won't affect it. Cellulite is just irregularities in the connective tissue in fatty deposits. What exactly helps to reduce it visually is up for debate, but reduction of body…
