  • Another one to add to the party here!! Seems we're not a dying breed after all :)
  • Hi, I work some strange hours too. Sometimes I start as early as 3am so i am up at 1.15am!! No matter what time I get up I eat my 3 meals. So for example if I worked your hours I would have breakfast (usually cereal or toast) before I went to work. Mid way through shift I would have a healthy snack (fruit, cereal bar,…
  • In theory it should mean you lose more than 2lbs, if you are under your weekly net calories it means you haven't eaten enough. So this can sometimes slow down your metabolism. Eating 3,500 calories less than your maintenance means you should lose a pound.. 7,000 = 2lbs and so on. Really it's just wait and see on weigh in…
  • so let me get this right...is everyone saying that for example if i went over by 200 calories on monday but under by 200 calories on thursday it would equal itself out by the end of the week??? If so that sounds pretty cool.....does it really work like that? I thought you had to go day by day so if you were over on monday,…
  • Thank you will check it out :)
  • Hi, I'm exactly the same. I weigh in on a Friday too. For exactly the same reason as you. I tend to sneak a weigh in mid week just to see how I'm going and normally find I've put a little bit on since last weigh in. I then get really anxious and wonder how on earth I'm gonna lose that little bit plus another pound by…
  • What you say makes perfect sense and isnt snarky at all. What would you suggest is a good calorie amount to eat?? the 1200 that is set or upping it to more?? and yes I will stop checking the scales and try and go with the flow.
  • I get the same. Sometimes it's flattering but I also feel like I have to constantly justify why I want to lose weight. When my clothes feel tight and my hips start spreading I have "fat" days just like everyone else. Just because I look slim doesn't mean the scales say the same and my clothes fit. I'm 5ft 6 and went up to…
  • I'm 5ft 6" and aiming for 126lbs. I think 118 is way to low for someone of our height. If I were 118 I'd look ill. I suppose it all depends on your frame though. I think I will struggle to reach my goal as in the past my body tends to like being around 137 (even if I don't). I'm still gonna give it a damn good try though :)
  • I do it almost every week :) always have lunch at my mother-in-laws on a Sunday, and feel rude turning down that extra potato or slice of cake. So I make sure I'm under all week and then don't worry about what I have on a Sunday. Works fine for me :)
  • Hi, I was 40 in December and am determined to look fab at 40 and prove us oldies have still got it. Have got about another 14lbs to lose but will get there by summer hopefully :) Feel free to add me for support and motivation :) x
  • Hi, I'm 5ft 6 and was told by my doctor that I can be anything from 118 lbs to 161 lbs. In saying that, I think I would look anorexic at 118 lbs and a bit on the hefty side at 161 lbs. I tend to like to be between 126 lbs and 134 lbs, that is about right, I feel for my frame, but it depends on what sort of build you are…
  • Some great ideas... Makes me feel a whole lot better knowing I'm not on my own with this dislike of water. Feel more positive now that it will come :)
  • Thanks guys. Will give the suggestions a try. I was finding I was using over 100 calories a day because of tea (the milk in it). Appreciate your comments :)
  • I have 2 weetabix with some hot skimmed milk and no sugat . Keeps me full for about 4-5 hours and it's only about 190 calories. Apparently weetabix release energy slowly. Certainly works for me :)
