Wow!! Kudos to you! I have Boston coming up, my first marathon also :D I feel like I will end up signing up for the USMC marathon in the fall and keep with 2-3 per year or so, enough to get me to the Ironman :)

great story :D you look amazing!!

generally, being a girl. Oh hai, wanna have a slumber party where we paint our nails, watch a click flick, drink wine, and dish about cute boys? Go *kitten* yourself. I'll be over in the sports bar with Jack and Johnnie. In my cutest heels  edit: target shooting. lots of target shooting.

I've done a handful of tri's (up to a half-IM so far!), a couple of them Olympic distance. I would love to have more tri friends! Sending a request your way :)

LOL aw, congrats!!! I was on here only to log but I couldn't pass up seeing what this post was all about!

lol!! ;)

I used to be so into Pepsi; when I started dating my boyfriend (who drinks only diet soda all the time; his fridge is full of it) and joined MFP, I thought I would never convert. I did, surprisingly. I wasn't really trying to at first; I love Pepsi but soda wasn't a staple of my diet or anything. At first, I would only…

I'll drink to that! lol also being in Richmond, I would love to shove it in their faces hahaha :)

I didn't know that either. I love keystrokes but I don't know any of the F# keys. woo! :)

So proud of you LH!!!! Keep it up! Pics look great!!!

Agree with everyone here- get some real water experience, get those bricks in so your muscles know what's coming! :) HAVE FUN and CONGRATS on joining our great sport :D just a note- when you wake up at areyoukiddingme o'clock to make your 6am transition opening (or your morning training session if that's for you), fight…

for real man. This team needs to go through some de-friending....

One year I did two Olympic tri's and a run series that built, 2 miles at time, from a 5K to a half-marathon. Thinking about it, it sounded fine. Doing it, I ended up being so physically exhausted from all the training that I missed a period :o Though, I got it a week later, which was my first week off at the end of all…

I turned 30 in May. I thoroughly enjoyed my 20's and while I am also enjoying 30, I wouldn't mind hanging in my 20's a bit longer lol. No younger than 25 though. Similar to other posters, I do find that I am consistently happy in the current year and with what I have become to that point; I haven't had a year that I said,…

Agree. Looking is quite healthy, and my fiance and I have pointed out attractive people to each other. No big deal. I don't think porn is cheating either. I figure, we have the internet now- guys are going to use it lol.

Wow, you look amazing! Your weights are about the same as my current and goal, so thank you for sharing what you did :) Like another poster said, it was definitely motivation. I have been ~150 for a long time, but was up to 165 before I started MFP. Lost the 15, so back to my 150. Thanks for the inspiration!!

I would settle for not being completely embarrassing. *sigh*.

That's so great you were able to use the actual course for practice. Hills are definitely killer!! Congratulations on a great start to the sport :D
-
Congratulations on joining the club!!! I agree with Joe- I love a good sports story and I can definitely relate to a first tri experience. Being a swimmer, I am not a stellar biker or runner to say the least, and I know what it's like to spend 70% of the race questioning why you got up so early to begin with lol. I'm so…

I would definitely go for it. I did tri's every summer since 2004, stopping at 2010 (and my first half-IM) for grad school. Literally, for the next two years, did zilch. No workouts, not even a crunch until I finished my thesis and graduated this May. So I am getting back in also. DO THE SPRINT! You said you can do each…

you made me smile :) a truly amazing story, you and all of your siblings!!! congrats on deserving your fix ;)

welcome :D

yeah, IM!! I've done one half-IM and one half-marathon. definitely going for the top! :) more of my list, besides the IM: 1) a marathon by itself, not as part of the IM (Boston or NYC, prob love to do one in Philly- my home city <3) 2) like everyone else posting, unassisted pullups!!! 3) some real all-the-way-down pushups…

Agree. My fiance suggested that we get on this site together, since we both wanted to lose some pounds. And saying "you're getting fat" isn't insulting- we both keep each other in check and are open about wanting to stay in shape for each other. Now, we're not downright mean about it, we support each other. It's a little…

Like an above poster, I am not military but would also love to offer my HUGE and sincere thanks to you men and women who protect our borders and allow us to live with our freedoms in this great country
