  • I have one of those dorky belt holsters because I couldn't stand the arm band any more. Effective and hidden under my shirt.
  • For what its worth ... My daily calorie intake should be 2200 daily. Today I ate only 1100, then went on a 4 mile run. It sucked. Low energy and sluggishness. Two days ago when I ran, I had eaten 1600 then went for a run, completed the 4 mile run at my average pace and felt fine. So, don't skimp on your calories, you need…
  • Dr Oz is a quack. He was trying to push some sort of blueberry juice diet and didn't pass the sanity test.
  • I'm 6', highest weight was 240, right now I am at 188.6. Goal is 175. Been stuck between 186 and 190 for some time now and I'm actually ok with it.
  • Congrats! Time to sign up for a 5k.
  • It's a new sense of confidence, so keep it up. Also one of your pictures linked from your profile is one you might consider questionable.
  • I've done Atkins twice, lost big numbers but gained them right back. Maybe you'll not experience this. When I was doing the diet, i would generally eat less than 20 carbs a day.
  • Are you logging your calories and exercise on MFP or fitbit.com ? If you have the two sites linked, when you go to add your workout information you also put in the time you started and duration. That'll give you the right calorie burn info.
  • Weight loss and maintenance is a lifestyle, not a diet. A diet is short term.
  • Completely oblivious to nutrition / exercise / calories and the balance. Also I was working in a call center which means hours and hours of sitting my duff and eating take out twice sometimes three times daily.
  • Na, don't log it. I only log moderate and heavy work outs. I calculate the intensity based on my heart rate. If it's within those 'moderate' or 'intensity' zones then I count it. Otherwise it's consider physical movement which is normal daily activity.
  • Are you eating the right kind of foods? Also you might benefit from some strength training. Cardio is good because it can decrease heart rate, increase VM02max but muscle will burn twice as much calories then fat at rest.
  • I had them as a result of rapid wright loss. Man that was the moat pain I've ever had to endure. It sucked bad. I wish this soon no one. It finally cleared up but I had to take a trip or two to the hospital before they found it.
  • Diet soda is cool though. I wouldn't replace water with diet soda, but I'm not going to deny myself a coke zero.
  • I did exactly what you are doing. I was 240lbs and started a crash VLC diet of 1200 calories per day. I lost weight at first, it eventually slowed and I was stuck. The only way to get myself back up and going again was to eat at least 1600 to 1800 cals per day, working out for 30 to 40 minutes 3x a week. There is no easy…
  • Use your heart rate to determine activity level: MHR = Max Heart Rate MHR = 207-(.7 x AGE IN YEARS) Calculate your RHR (resting heart rate) MHR-RHR = HRR for 30% HRR x .3 = for 40% HHR x .4 = and so on. 30% to 40% = Light activity 40% to 60% = Moderate activity 60% to 80% = Vigorous activity Anything below 30% is just…
  • Oh god , just thinking about this makes me sick; Breakfast at home: toast Breakfast on the way to work: Burger King Sausage Crescents Lunch: Chipotle Chicken Burrito, chips and salsa Dinner: two or three grilled hamburgers plus chips and potato salad Snacks: cookies I also sat on my duff all day working at a call center. I…
  • I pigged out on Sunday at a buffet and man was it good. Just stay away from the fried foods and drink a gallon of water afterwards. Usually doesn't effect me too much.
  • Try brushing your teeth. Ha, I know sounds wacky. I use this method during Halloween. Each time I feel the urge I brush em.
  • I picked one up about a week ago. I used MFP to track exercise and food because they have a native android app. The food tracking on fitbit.com is all web based and not as nice. You can join fitbit.com and use it without having an actual fitbit. I find that it's about 90% accurate. The one thing I don't like about it is…

  • Look at 'whole grain' bread instead. All the nutrition is stripped out of typical white bread and sometimes the 'wheat' bread is simply white bread with brown color.
