  • I thought there were all these green smoothie lovers out there that would be interested in my concoction, but alas I suppose I was wrong. Anyway, I hope someone comes along and sees this yummy mix, because most I did try so far were really not good as the links said they were.
  • For health and life you do need carbs, but healthy ones..........shoot for low carb and according to what your MFP has alloted for you. Lots of low carb meals, just Google Low Carb meals and lots of sites will show up. Also if you have a favorite something, google it with low carb added and see if it will fit your new…
  • I attend a gym and see people running on the treadmill and somehow I find it has never been for me. Maybe someday, but for the past few years I enjoy my 3.0 - 3.3 with a 3.0 incline to keep within my exercise goal. I don't check my heartrate, but I can truly say it has given me the extra I need to stay fit in my calorie…
  • Fried is great, but roasted is really yummy too if you think you might like a roasted veggie sandwich. I heat my over to 350 and then on a pan I place olive oil brushed eggplant slices and also take whole red peppers and brush them with olive oil and bake until you see eggplant done to your liking and leave red peppers in…

  • Kale is a strong sometimes bitter tasting vegetable. Growing up I loved Kale cooked with potatoes and then mashed. Cut up the Kale in strips and cook with potatoes, and when soft mash, add some milk, salt and pepper and then the best part is to fry some bacon and add the bits for a little meat. I subtract the fat with the…
  • Showmm: I hadn't known about palm sugar and just did a little research............sounds like an awesome sugar to give a try with it's low glycemic index too :) Also the Agave suggestion I have also considered, will give that a thought as well...........
  • Thank you amonkey794............looks like good stuff :)
  • that would add a nice touch, yes....good idea, thanks
  • Since eating too much pasta is a no no, I love Spaghetti Squash to fill in the Pasta holes so when I mix it together I can still have a big plate with sauce and some cheese and have wayyyy lower calories and carbs. Now I'm hungry for it just thinking of it....time to cook some
  • Speaking of Lentil in our home too, we found this recipe I am going to try today I believe. Lentils Dal: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/30/health/nutrition/30recipehealth.html?ref=lentils
  • Personally, I found that after weeks of having removed potatoes and rice and pasta, I needed to fill extra "holes" in because the menu became a little too empty and I actually even saw that I needed to bolster my calories. For the first time in my life I had to actually add some calories when MFP told me I ate too little…
  • My husband is an avid runner who will run thru any type of injury, but when it came to PF, he was overwhelmed. I was truly amazed that this one slowed him down. He tried different running shoes, all sorts of inserts, even spoke with a chiropracter friend and nearly went for all the Xrays etc on the foot when we came upon…
  • Hi, feel free to add me and I would help you as much as I can in what ever you venture through. I have been married and mostly homecooking meals from scratch for over 25 years. I only use or 98% only use single ingredient foods to make my own meals. I rarely buy a processed food for a meal. So, that having been said, let…
  • Since doing this MFP seriously for about 6 weeks now, a few days ago I ate something to trial that was just horrible that I needed a "cheat" treat to recover, lol.............so I grabbed the nearest thing which was Herrs Salt and Vinegar Potato Chiips........filled with greasey fat. Sooo good, but when I took the bag out…
  • I really love Spinach too. It seems the quickest way to use up a bag of spinach is to sautee it. I love it sauteed with salt and pepper and a little sprinkle of parmesan cheese. I did this the other morning for breakfast and also added two poached eggs on top......that was even better. Don't let the yellow get hard and the…
  • For breakfast smoothies, I pour in 8 oz. of almond milk or coconut milk.....you could use soy or even milk if you drink milk. Then I throw in a bananna, flax seed milled or flax seed whole (milled isn't as full textured and as prominent in taste), one or tablespoons unsweetened cocoa, and from there you can add anything…
  • I doubt it'll be anything like the mcrib from mcdonalds, lol, especially if you already decided you didn't like it and was horrible. Sounds like it won't stand a chance again. LOL, my husband saw what I was eating and asked me if they were termite eggs, it is funny though.
  • LOL, so now we have two questions answered.............who really eats olive?....I really love those salty little jerks.... and who actually likes tempeh?...... you actually really like tempeh......nice.
  • I have always loved peanut butter, but in the past few months have switched to almond butter, which I now love even more! I actually tried it for a switch because I read of it's high nutritive value, MUCH more nutritive. So, after finding I really liked it I decided for a small amount of extra money I am also get quite a…

  • I just checked my package and it didn't tell me to steam or boil beforehand. I somehow don't think it's for me, but considering I did use two different sauces to enhance it so I'd like it and still there is just something missing. I just don't see where it can be so appetizing. I was curious then if people REALLY enjoy it.…
  • http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ According to the above BMR Calculater by The Harris Benedict Equation, your information put in says your BMR is 1409.7 and lets says your active doing exercise up to 5 days a week, this calculated would be 1409.7 (BMR) X 1.55 (for exercise 3-5x/wk) which comes to a calorie…

  • A blessing in the end! So sorry it got ruined for you though. It's still sad, although lots of calories etc were saved for yet something else :)
  • Yes, chocolate is fabulous..........anyway, I looked up one link and I'll share it with you: http://shine.yahoo.com/5-tricks-beat-chocolate-cravings-180500893.html You may be right to eliminate it from your house. I've had to do this with other things. For me, I had to not eat pasta items for a couples weeks until I could…

  • What kind of chocolates do you eat? You know Dark Chocolate is really healthy, but of course you can't overindulge and go over your calorie intake and totally kill MFP allowances..............but, if you can fit it in, it's great for you! Google the benefits and see

  • Although I do at times eat some meat, I am trying to steer away also, and so on those days I steer away especially, I drink Almond Milk, Almond Butter, and there are plenty of plants that do have protein, which so many people don't realize. So, anyway, here is an article I've read and wanted to share if anyone out there is…

  • You need to eat a balanced diet, which if you tally your MFP entries probably would indicate you need more than just fruits and veggies? You do need some fats, proteins and such............maybe add at least some seeds and nuts to your diet. That's a start anyway.

  • Hi Hailey, I have an idea of what it feels like to need some support. Actually, sometimes support just means "help me maneuver my way to get where I might want to be". That's what I think you mean and in some ways the way I currently feel too. While I was growing up, I naturally steered away from meat. Both of my parents…
  • First I would like to suggest to those who don't want to spend much on new clothes to try out Thrift Stores if you never have. If you have never gone, it's worth a try and if not to one store try another. Where I live there are some really awesome ones that have lots of well worth clothes to be tried on. Even a boutique…
