  • They're not useless but they are pure EVIL!!! Lol
  • Hmmmm... I just assumed it was a blood sugar issue. I do have MS, but I've never had anything like that before and I'm not sure that MS would even cause that to happen. I will ask my doc at my next appt about it and of course if it happens again I will go to the doctor immediately. I certainly hope it's not diabetes. :-/
  • Yes, yes I was!! Thank you! The scariest part was how quickly it happened. From fine to passing out in a flash. Like someone pulled the rug right out underneath me.
  • The thing was I know better, but I guess what I didn't realize that even though I planned on eating my calories for the day later I hadn't eaten enough up to that point. I often go hours without eating and have been fine. Not anymore. :-/
  • WOW. Just wow. Seriously people. :noway:
  • I didn't eat bacon for years either. YEARS!! I now weep over all the lost time I spent not eating bacon. BACON and WHOLE eggs every weekend for breakfast!!!! :-)
  • Just reaffirming that you want to be VERY careful about labeling foods either "good" or "bad". I was raised that way and it has been an extremely hard mindset to break. It ended up translating, for me at least, that when I ate a "bad" food I, in turn, was bad. I still battle with this today. :-/
  • Thought this was going to go in a totally different direction!! ;-)
  • Let me tell you that when I first started with the heavy squats and deadlifts my abs were so sore that I had to hold my tummy when I coughed! At first I didn't put two and two together and couldn't figure out why my abs were so sore. The next workout made it very clear where the soreness came from! Trust me, your abs will…
  • I'm doing a program called Thinner Leaner Stronger by Michael Matthews. It is actually a five day a week program but I usually end up doing it for four days a week. Chest and triceps, back and biceps, shoulders and abs, and finally legs. It is a 3 set 10 rep plan, but like an idiot I listened to a trainer at the gym and…
  • Patience. Patience. And even more PATIENCE. :-)
  • For me, I had to reach the point where I really accepted myself and loved myself before I was able to take weight loss and exercise seriously. I've spent most of my life feeling unworthy. So unworthy, that I didn't make myself a priority and felt that if I tried weight loss, again, I would fail because I thought of myself…
  • I definitely became obsessed. Probably, in the beginning, extremely obsessed. I was a woman with a mission. As time has gone by and I keep learning more the obsession has lessened and I see myself as extremely dedicated now and not so much obsessed anymore. I am learning balance and forgiveness for myself. :-)
  • This. It is calories in vs calories out but finding that magical calorie intake number can make you crazy sometimes. :-/
  • Laughing hysterically and disgusted at the same time...
  • I decided on taking a rest week because I haven't taken any time off in a long time and I was starting to feel really run down, really sore muscles, weights starting to feel really heavy, and just all around blah. Hoping that I'll feel a little more rejuvenated and motivated when I go back. I'm thinking I'll just do a…
  • This is goodness, wrapped up in awesomeness, with a little terrificness thrown in!! :drinker:
  • I have yet to take a rest week. I haven't taken any time off since January. Was supposed to take a rest week last month but was trying to save it for vacation time that never happened. Seriously considering taking next week off. Just some time to rejuvenate a bit. Was going to lower my calories during that time but my spin…
  • Thank you so much ladies for your encouragement!! I'm back down to 124 today and just finished my third month of lifting heavy!!! Woo hoo!!! I have decided to try and relax a bit more and just accept that this is going to take a long time. I'm going to work on keeping my calories around 1700-1800 but if I'm hungry or…
  • I'm in the same boat as you. Weight, bmi, even bf is in the good range but I still have that tummy. :-/ I have just finished my third month of my heavy lifting routine and I can't tell you enough about the changes it is making to my body. Some areas are getting leaner faster than others but I am getting leaner. I can't see…
  • This is me in a nutshell. I know it's wrong and I battle it everyday. I have a tendency to be OCD about everything but my brain usually likes to pick one thing and hone in on it and weight loss and exercise usually is the big winner. My mom had food issues so I was raised with food issues. There were good foods and bad…
  • I'm up to 125 lbs on deads and I recently started gripping with my left hand under the bar so it rests in my palm and in the right hand I grip it over the bar. Seems to be working for now but I'm not sure if at heavier weights I'll need to use straps. I really don't know much about them. If switching grips doesn't work I…
  • Just had to add that two separate people at the gym today asked me if I had lost weight. I had to laugh because today the scale read 6 lbs heavier than my low of 123 a week and a half ago!! This weekend we ate at a Brazilian steakhouse and I can't even tell you how AMAZING that was and my extra fiber that I had this…
  • Yes, I have a tendency to compare myself to others and their progress and then wonder why I'm not where they are. Yes I know you shouldn't do that. I try not to and for a long time I was doing ok with it. Sometimes I think reading the forums messes with me more than it helps. Lol I did pick a higher activity level and a…
  • Yes, you are very right and I do remind myself every day about how far I've come. We both should be very proud of what we've accomplished!! :-) I'm really trying to keep positive and I'm not quitting. I'll never quit. Just feel like I'm treading water while watching people swim right by me sometimes.
  • Well I'm guessing on the 8-10 lbs cuz I'm not really sure what my goal weight should be. I saw on a chart somewhere that I should weigh about 115. Getting there seems daunting and maintaining that seems even more daunting. I still have some jiggly chub hanging on for dear life. I'm starting to look lean but still have…
  • In for sexypants and because I should probably read this each and every day.
  • I'm sorta confused. That 14 x body weight, is that to find your tdee and you eat less than that, or is that the amount you should be eating to lose? I did mine and came up with 1750. I hope that's with your cut already included cuz if I have to eat less than that...UGH. Just ugh.
