40, started when i was 38ish, Had never run more than a few steps to get to the table before that. Old... depends on perspective i suppose. I think running like all sports can be started at any time as long as you have realistic goals. If your looking to set a world sprint record... maybe not so possible. If your looking…

Ive lost more than 1/3 of me and if i dont look like an anorexic bean pole and its healthy (not bmi etc wise but looks and feels healthy) id like to be half the man i once was at around 175lb but i tell very few people that because i already get grief for loosing too much from some people. Im normally a very firm and…

NO as a runner, NO its not a good alternative, cycling sucks lol. As a former cyclists, hopefully soon to be again yes it is a good alternative and is probably better for your joints etc. Have fun, its a hell of a work out for legs and cardio. really if it works for you then its a great alternative.

Journal! Do it at least twice a day if not at every meal. If you do it before supper it will tell you how much you have left for that meal. Do it religiously, do it accurately. Weigh and measure your portions for a while until you can judge by looking at it. The biggest shock to me was what a portion actually was and how…

i run in the cold but sometime due to weather or time constraints i use my tm. its only a nordic track but i like it, id suggest checking the used adds and see what sort of deal you can find there, then research the kind you find and most importantly try it before you take it.

It always amuses me that people think its ok to tell you that you are getting to skinny, but if you told them they could benefit from some weight loss they'd be insulted.

I have learned, non runners generally don't get runners. They don't understand our motivations, our drive, our need to run. My running has caused stress in the past due to very similar story lines. I went and ran my first half by myself, a few friends ran too. A group of my running buddies showed up along the way at…

Sounds like me lol. i was down to 205, lightest i have been in years and started to get relaxed, over the next 8 months until sept of this year i crept back up to 235ish.... its easy to let it happen, dont knock yourself too much. My first 60 lbs or so I lost with no change to exercise. Basically none, the small amount I might get at work on a given day. BEST weight loss slogan I have heard is, "you can not out exercise a bad diet". Now, sure, if your a long distance runner or something, sure but for 99.9% of people this applies

that said, the tm is a necessary evil at times in my life. Its that or no run.... and i'll take the tm any day over no run :)

couldnt agree more, the friends i have made through running i likely never would have and nothing, and i mean nothing (exercise wise) beats trail running for pure enjoyment
