  • My new low! Not my best month, but certainly a good one so far.
  • Not getting a stone this month, but I broke through another mini plateau in spite of 5 cheat days in two weeks.
  • A pound is a pound. Better off than on.
  • Am I the only one with positive results this week? I've busted my butt to keep the calories down to make up for 5 cheat days in the last two weeks. I still haven't added any exercise to my weekly routine, but I'm walking in a 5K tomorrow...that'll be fun!

  • Gaining 2 pounds of fat means overeating by 7000 calories. 2 pounds of water weight is only 32 oz of water. Drink like mad today and see if you don't see that come back down a bit.
  • Shelly and Jenni, don't forget to update the spreadsheet!
  • This is also the spreadsheet: http://tinyurl.com/6lsdqzm
  • Also, don't forget to add yourself to our spreadsheet. For me it acts as an accountability tool. Keeps me honest and gives me weekly motivation.
  • Sounds like you have a plan! That's a great exercise program. I could never jump in with that much in one week. I've been going at this for 5 months now and I still can barely get on the exercise bike once a week. I did the whole "gym every day" thing last time I tried to lose weight...I got burned out and gave up. Water,…
  • I have a recumbent bike at home, so I do 40-60 minutes on that with a DVD of a good movie or TV show. the key is to keep your heart rate in the fat-burning zone. Work too hard (even for 20 minutes) and you'll stop burning fat and start building muscle. I see "fatties" at the gym all the time SPRINTING on the…
  • What is it and where can I find it? I see lots of people doing this and am curious.

  • Just so y'all know...I periodically re-sort the sheet. Right now, I sort by alphabet. On Friday Afternoons (Eastern US time), I'll re-sort by who has logged and who hasn't. I wrote the formulas. If you insert a row, the formulas don't appear, so just add yourself to the bottom and I'll keep adding empty rows as the group…
  • I'm John. I live in PA, USA. I'm 1/3 of the way back to my goal of 200 pounds by Thanksgiving. Once there, I'll set my sights on 183---a weight that got me TONS of compliments back in 11th grade. I lost 10 pounds in April as part of the "14 lbs by May 1 :)" group. The mini-goals and accountability of groups has really…
  • I thought about getting a Heart Rate Monitor and using it all day to see the range of calories I burn from sedentary to active days. Am I being OCD? I want to lose and I want to do it in a healthy way. I guess I'm just scared of losing too fast....is that possible?
  • I've gotten stomach aches as you describe, but I never tried the cold-compress technique. My GF often complains of stomach pains after physical activities. We're both 80+ pounds overweight, so an answer/understanding of this phenomenon might help us keep exercise in our lives.
  • Would you hit these with the "stick blender" or whatever to chop the veggies? It's like a 1-minute frittata!
  • I like the suggestion of the hot sauce. remove soy, add Frank's (I put that $#!+ on everything) and some green onions... This is going on the list for this week. I might sub some Tyson pre-grilled chicken or some rotisserie from the grocery store since we are strapped for time on weeknights.
  • Weeknights are the toughest for us to take time to cook. How about these time-saving substitutions? I know there'd be some give and take on the calories Use chicken breast pulled off a rotisserie chicken from the local grocery store -- Ours ALWAYS has a whole medium chicken there waiting and it saves so much time versus…
