The Spreadsheet!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApkxnzF0X6A1dGl1R194UldQMU5VZHJXZ1lKNnd5NkE Here's a shorter link: http://tinyurl.com/6lsdqzm If you have a Google/GMail account, log in. It makes it easier. If you just joined, put your starting weight in the leftmost column regardless of what day of the month you joined. Then,…

August!
Well, just like that the summer flies by (unless you're in Australia where summer is fast approaching. Let's recruit some more members and help folks get on the right path to a healthy weight-loss lifestyle before the overeating months of November and December are upon us!

June Plans
So, I just met with a fitness guru who has been consulting at my company the past several weeks. I signed up for an 8-week personalized fitness plan with her. Today we figured out the diet part. I'm only 20 pounds from my ultimate weight goal! Here's hoping this gets me back on the wagon. She gave me a detailed list of…

March Victories!
Congratulations to bike317, sammyjbray, and lucky5552 on hitting their March Goals (early no less)!! Way to stick with it, guys. Keep up the great work!

February Successes
Anyone have a good success story for February? I finally reached Onederland. Took me 13 months to see the scale start with a 1. Bounced back up but the past two weigh-ins have been firmly below 199. None of the dress shirts I had in my closet in Feb of last year are wearable anymore. Some of my favorite t-shirts are too…

End of the year push
November is well under way. It won't be long until we're scrambling for Christmas Presents, planning trips to see family, reminiscing about Hurricane Sandy, the Presidential Election, and how fast 2012 flew by. Next thing you know it will be January and we'll be making New Year's Resolutions. Let's finish strong. Let's be…

October!
Ok, gang. It's nearly October. New month, new name, new goals! The "Starting Weight" for October will be whatever you weighed in at for Sept 28th. I'll move everyone over to the new tab soon. Also, October is the start of monthly goal-setting. Pick a goal (aggressive yet achievable) for yourself and add it to the sheet.…

Name Change?
I was contemplating a name change for the group. How about "A Goal A Month" Realistically that's what we've become. We set a monthly goal weight and aim for it. Thoughts?

Spreadsheet Mods
Gang, I was thinking. I know we all WANT to lose 14 pounds a month, but that's aggressive. What if I added a column for a "goal" and then had a score (%) based on progress towards that goal?

Sticking with it...
A week of 8 glasses of water a day is great. A lifetime is even better. Can we make the challenges INCLUSIVE? In other words, on Saturday we wipe out the data from the week 1 challenge and reset. Then, week 2, each day we log success for BOTH the 8-cups of water and the cardio. Then we ADD the next challenge in week…

Spreadsheet Tabs
We have to visit the "Challenges" tab every day. We only weigh in every two weeks. I think the daily tab should be first. Otherwise, I have to wait for that sheet to load, then switch over to the challenges tab. That chews up time and data on a smart phone. Also, with over 100 people, I think we should be allowed to add a…

Welcome!
In spite of what my last post implied, we're not going anywhere! So, if you're new here, welcome! A stone a month (14 pounds) is a very aggressive goal. So far, no one has really achieved it. That's OK! We're a small, supportive group that likes the accountability we provide and the tracking of our spreadsheet. Don't…

Moving on...
A stone a month is awfully aggressive and may have de-motivated many of our former members. I found this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/8071-september-december-challenge and decided that a longer term, more sensible goal is better for me. They use a spreadsheet and log every two weeks. You set your own…

August -- It's possible!
Technically it is possible to lose 14 pounds in August. You might have to count your "starting weight" from July 27th (previous Friday). From July 27 to Aug 31 there are 5 weeks. That's 2.8 pounds a week. A bit aggressive, but possible (especially for those of us with over 50 pounds still to go!). Never give up. Never…

Spreadsheet Help
Try this link: http://tinyurl.com/8tyxmuv Sometimes the shorter URL is easier to copy/paste. We had this same issue with the other group I was in. MFP likes to take the long link and make it two lines and depending on your computer, web browser, and style of copy/paste, you might not have had the whole link. John

July!!
I hope everyone had a productive June. I've started a new tab for July on the spreadsheet. Let's recruit some more members! I know a stone is an aggressive goal for one month, but the accountability is what's doing it for me. Even if I only get to 8 or 10 pounds, that's still more than if I were sitting on my *kitten* in…

June
Ok, so I'm making an executive decision and since June starts on a Friday, I want to count next week towards our Stone for June. I've already created a June tab on the spreadsheet. All weigh-ins from May25th and June 1 will be copied over. Anyone not weighing in either May 25th or June 1 will be deleted. Start recruiting…

Pictures?
We should all take pictures on the 1st of every month and share them. I haven't taken any before/after pictures yet, but I want to start. What do you guys think?

Logging daily activities?
Do you guys log abnormal daily activities as exercise? My GF and I just started MFP. We've both dropped a couple of pounds and have had our fair share of cheat days. We both have desk jobs though I tend to take frequent walks at work because I cannot sit still for more than two hours without "making the rounds." We live in…
