February Successes

Anyone have a good success story for February?

I finally reached Onederland. Took me 13 months to see the scale start with a 1. Bounced back up but the past two weigh-ins have been firmly below 199. None of the dress shirts I had in my closet in Feb of last year are wearable anymore. Some of my favorite t-shirts are too big, too.

Next on my list are the pooch and love handles that are keeping me from being totally happy with my new body...

How about you?

Hi nice idea, okay i pretty much maintained and for march have moved my goals a bit. So back to the grind, NSV I had to buy a new belt yay :) my march goal is to complete ripped in 30 and to not bloody smoke very hard, was doing fine but have had a few minor setbacks. Lets give march all we got ! :)

Congrats to you both! And good luck on the smoking, C2!

My goal this month is to get under 40% body fat. I'm at 41.7% now, but doing lots of cardio. Adding weights is going more slowly than I'd like. I didn't realize how weak my arms had gotten until I tried for two weeks to do a single pushup properly. I am lifting 8 pound weights 5 days a week. I'll add either more weight or more reps until I can do those pushups!

*it's John, actually* (no worries, I'm related to a famous Joe)

I did not yet discuss it with him, but he really wants to do something. I'll send him the links if we FB chat this morning. He's also talking about a Disney run (that could get expensive with airfaire, etc)

I tried adding weights in the fall to no avail. I started Jillian Michaels 30-day shred in January and it really worked for me. Having a fixed, predictable routine each night...and knowing how long it was going to take, etc...really helped kick start the strength training for me. Now, I'm in this Zombie Challenge and they have plenty of work for us to do each week. I have a swiss ball and some dumbbells (1, 2, 4, 8). When I started, I could do like 6 crunches. Two weeks ago, I did like 80 for this challenge in one night!I can feel my abs getting stronger...baby steps...you'll get there!

    Sorry! :embarassed:

I was on the Googledoc one day and saw your full name under 'other users viewing this,' and thought, "Oh, hey!!! It's that baseball guy! He must be a fan!" For some reason, I guess it just stuck in my head that that was actually YOUR name, even though you'd be like 100 years old now.

There is a brain in here somewhere... I swear! :blushing:

I wasn't part of the group for February, but I did have a goal for myself, 65 miles walked during the month. Beat that by 2 miles  I also lost 6 pounds during that month.

It's a program created by another MFP'er. We're finishing week 5 today. It's a choose your own adventure with some exercises and weight-loss competition. Hopefully she'll do it again...
