So, I just met with a fitness guru who has been consulting at my company the past several weeks. I signed up for an 8-week personalized fitness plan with her. Today we figured out the diet part. I'm only 20 pounds from my ultimate weight goal! Here's hoping this gets me back on the wagon. She gave me a detailed list of meal options and we discussed how to plan/prepare in a hectic lifestyle.

As for exercise...I now have a copy of Insanity! Here's hoping I can stick to it. Week 1, Day 1 starts tonight.

I'm cautious about my weight loss goals for June, so I'm going to only go with a couple of pounds.

What about you guys? Plans for June?

I'm only about 6 lbs from my original goal weight, so I'll be happy with a couple of lbs loss this month.

I am hoping to finish Couch to 5k this month (finished week 7 of 9), although I'm on hiatus from that for a while since I'm recovering from gall bladder surgery. (I have been walking daily since my surgery.) I at least hope to be back on the bicycle this week.

    Hi, thats great!

Im focusing on the running again this month atleast 3x a week, I have a 5k planned for the end of June. I've pledged to jog 40miles and lose 5lbs in June (which might not seem alot but its a push for me). By the end of the month i'd like to jog for 20mins non stop on the treadmill.

    Good Luck,

My goals this month are to run 5 miles at least once a week during the month, as well as other short runs. I'll also be doing some biking, just whatever I can squeeze in, and also finishing up the "6 weeks to 100 Pushups" challenge. Although I think it's going to take longer than 6 weeks...

My focus is not so much weight. If I set goals like those, I don't usually meet them. So instead I focus on eating right and exercising to get me motivated. I do put a number in the chart but I kind of base that on the previous month's loss.

I feel like I'm doing good so far. The first two Saturday's this month I have run more than 5 miles each time.

Keep up the good work everyone!

What a great opportunity! I've completely gotten off track food wise. I need to get back to counting every calorie and eating clean. The struggle will be baseball. My son has games a minimum of 6 days a week and we often get home late and just pick up take out. Even if I make a healthy choice, the sodium kills me. I have the exercise part down - I just wish I could put the same commitment into eating as I do to my workouts.

Good luck with Insanity. Take pictures and measurements. My sister has been doing it for two weeks. The scale hasn't budged at all for her but there is a definitely improvement in her pictures.

    Jo,
Do you have time to pack some lunches for yourself? Not only will it save you money, you won't have all the sodium. It's a huge problem for my husband as well, so I always pack his lunch in an igloo bag with sheets of "ice cubes" to keep it cold. (Find them in the camping section at Walmart.)
Once you get in the habit, it only takes about 3 minutes in the morning to throw everything in there. Throw together a quick sandwich, a little can of low sodium V8, a Fiber One bar and an apple. Those things will keep all day and are much healthier than the "healthy options" at a drive through!

Great suggestion! I, too, am a prepper. I portion out a week's worth of breakfast and mid-morning snacks on Sunday night/Monday morning.I've just started working with a Fitness guru and she is helping me find lunches and dinners that are easy to prep on Sunday and eat all week.

The only one I have right now is grilled chicken breast and brown rice with some Mrs. Dash for flavor. There are some great and quick brown rice steamers in the frozen food section. Last night I discovered Uncle Ben's has individual cups of brown rice that only take 45 seconds in the microwave! VERY low sodium and super quick On the weekend we grill up a bunch of chicken. The steamer bags of rice are either 2 or 3 servings. I'll make a bag and portion it out with about 3-4 oz of chicken. Then, when it is meal time, I toss in some Mrs Dash (whatever flavor I'm craving) and a bit of water and pop it in the microwave until hot. All told, it takes maybe 2 minutes to make at meal time (less time than the drive through!).

Also, Whey Protein shakes are good when you don't have a lot of time. I'm told you can store them in the fridge for 4 or more days.

I did the fit test last night. I did better than I thought I would, but definitely noticed how out of shape I am. I have a picture from when I was at my lowest (195). I'm not big on measurements, but if all goes well, I'll need a new wardrobe after this 8-weeks!

I am kicking June's *kitten*! 97.6 kg to start, and 94.4 this morning!

(For those that use pounds, that's 214.7 to 207.7)

I am trying really, really hard to lose 10 kg this month. Last month, I gained and I am not happy about that. I'll get back to more realistic goals in July.

I've already exceeded my June goal.

Apparently gall bladder surgery is agreeing with me. (UGH- haven't been able to eat like I want to!)

I hope I can maintain the loss!
