  • I looked this up after a co-worker said how much she loves his music a while ago. I couldn't believe that any woman would give this man their money after what he's done. I have zero-tolerance for domestic abuse, and I thought that most of society did to. I'm really surprised to see so many women ok with listening to and…
  • I'm doing a Primal diet so my standard breakfast is to throw some real pastured butter in a cast iron skillet, throw in some spicy sausage and brown. Beat 3 organic omega 3 eggs and pour all over the sausage. Cook for a few minutes then throw in the broiler to cook the top. At the last minute, I'm sprinkle some mozzerella…

  • Nope. I exercise to burn calories. It seems people do this because they are afraid of losing muscle mass. However, I'm going from 363 and my goal is 223, so I expect that I will lose muscle mass in my legs no matter what, just because they will be carrying 140 lbs less!
  • Good for you two! Welcome!
  • Btw, I thought this article from one of my favorite blogs addresses your question well. http://www.archevore.com/panu-weblog/2010/1/13/smoking-candy-cigarettes.html
  • Many restaurants will substitute the potato dish for a vegetable or cottage cheese. I did that recently and found that cottage cheese goes better with a steak dinner than french fries, and almost as good as a baked potato in my opinion. El Pollo Loco is good if you just get chicken. BBQ places are good but ask for BBQ…
  • Trader Joe's has frozen albacore, ahi, and swordfish steaks that are about $5-$6 bucks for 3/4 of a lbs. These are aweseme dense steaks. I love to put them in a cast iron skillet with some pastured butter, get a good sear on both sides, and then put it in a 400 degree oven for 10-15 minutes. Little salt, pepper and lemon…
  • It might help to remember that from a paleo standpoint, meat was the focus. The tribe followed the meat as it migrated, picking whatever vegetables and fruits they could along the way. The fruits and vegetables are also going to be extremely seasonal. During fall and winter months, there would be virtually no produce to be…
  • I'm reading the Protien Power Lifepath by Drs' Eades and I highly recommend it. I'm halfway through it an everything in there so far seems to mesh well with paleo/primal even though it's not specifically called that.
  • Bear in mind that by eliminating sugar, junk foods, wheat products and carbs from your diet, your average caloric intake will very likely go down without thinking about it, because these foods are very high in calories. I wish I had been using MFP before my diet so I could track by average what my caloric intake was before…
  • I'm not all that into sweets, and the meat and cheese I've been eating has been so good I haven't missed bread and grains at all. Except for beer. I'm a hard core beer geek and I built a culture around it. ( I do a beer show on youtube). Cutting that out has been REALLY hard for me. So a splurge might be a few beers one…
  • Awesome! Welcome! Feel free to ad me if you would like! Cheers!
  • Any links to your wife's recipe online, or a good page on this? I would like to try this. Thanks!
  • I second this! It's been about 5 weeks since I've started this journey, and I have consistently felt better than I have in a long time. Better mood, more energy, and even more mentally focused. I'm not sure how to explain this last one, but it feels like I've been getting less distracted by unimportant things lately. I…

  • Trader joes has these new wasabi flavored seaweed snacks. They sound horrible, but if you like sushi at all, you will probobly like these! http://www.traderjoes.com/fearless-flyer/article.asp?article_id=408
  • Eddie Izzard Ralphie May Patton Oswalt. Lisa Lampanelli Fortunately for me, I've seen and met them all.
  • Looking at Dannon's website, I pulled up the nutritional information here. This is for a pack of their carb/diabettic light and fit yogurt. http://www.lightandfit.com/product_details_carbsugar.html The couple things that bother me are aspartame and sucralose. These are artificial sweeteners. I've seen several lo-carb and…
  • You can set your calories to whatever you want. That's one of the things that really impressed me about this site. I could tweak my settings for my diet, and not be compared to some arbitrary measure someone else thinks is healthy. Cheers!
  • Hi Mike, I'm just getting started so I'm not sure how to answer your question. However I did go to the website for bodyfattest.com and see that have one event coming up in my area. If you don't mind how much did the test cost? Their website doesn't mention that, at least that I could find. Thanks!
  • Well said Amy... Well Said! Cheers!
  • I've just started, and I've got about 150 lbs to loose. Most of the exercise programs I've seen like P90x or Insanity or whatever, seem to be fore people who are in average shape that want to get "ripped" not for people who are way out of shape. Starting from 363, I needed something that was geared for my fat *kitten*! I…
  • Hey Buddy, Just wanted to drop a note and say thank you! You are pretty much exactly where I'm coming from. I'm starting out at 363.8, a smoker, drinking a 12 pack of diet pepsi per day. I'm 3 weeks in, 28 lbs down, stopped smoking, stopped drinking soda. I hope to get down to 263 by the end of the year, and eventually…
  • I'm in. I was at 335.4 on 2/1 and that was a loss of 28 lbs from where I started. Lets see where I end up for February. Do we want to raise the stakes a bit and see who can loose the most in February? Cheers and good luck all!
  • Really interesting video. Thanks for sharing!
  • Hey there. Add me if you like. I just started this diet around 1/5/12, and have lost 28 lbs so far. Cheers!

  • I just thought I would pass this on. I'm a homebrewer and make all kinds of homemade drinks, and I've come across sekanjabins. A sekanjabin is a middle eastern medieval drink made with vinegar. Basically it is equal parts sugar and vinegar with mint leaves. I found this on : http://www.giovannastrifles.com/ Adapted from…
  • Hey all. I'm really curious how to get more fat into my diet, as I seem to only be around 35-40% fat. How do you all get so much fat into your diet? Thanks!
