You DO have to be careful with shirataki/konnyaku because it is essentially like the diet coke of 'noodles', minus the (debatably) harmful chemicals. They have no calories and make a decent substitute for the real thing, but there is absolutely no benefit to eating them, save filling the craving. There have been people who…

Adding to the baggies crowd, I furthermore portion all junk that I impulsively buy when I'm having an off day and then write the amount of calories on the portion sized bag. I've found that it cuts back a lot of the 'oh, I want a snack! how about some chips!' kind of binging because, 1. It's pre-portioned, and 2. I have to…

I used to have this happen all the time when I was younger, and often limped a bit for a day or so after. I second the potassium + water thing.

I am SO glad to find this post! One more in the 'dudes doing Jillian' pool. Wait. Maybe we should change that verb.

So I hear you can replace butter in a recipe with greek yogurt for fat-free and protein rich baking.

Avocados and salmon is to die for. Halve one, scoop it out as needed to spread on whole grain crackers and then top with a slice of smoked salmon for an amazing snack/meal. If you need it extra creamy, you can mash them with fat free cream cheese and then use them as previously suggested.

My boss and his wife both work at my place of employ, but don't share last names. I didn't realize that they were married until I figured out that they were telling stories and anecdotes about the same child, haha! When I mentioned it, they told me that because she had been in her career for much longer than they had been…

My fiancé gave me an heirloom ring in return for the one I bought, so we both have one. Mine's Mom's wedding ring, and I'm more than happy to wear it and tell people it's my engagement ring.

At present, gendered sports are trouble because it relies on what can be considered 'performance enhancement', in that if a MTF transsexual were to stop taking their estrogen before an event, their testosterone would increase in a manner similar to taking steroids and give them an unfair advantage. The only way to ensure…

I'm proud to say I have only known (personally) one guy that was like that, and it was super-extreme. He would only watch films that were ranked 'gay & lesbian', was into all of the 'stereotypically gay' things, talked with a lisp, the whole nine yards. When watching Queer As Folk he would whine and complain when the…

Just thought I'd mention, and I'm making the assumption you're referring to the Miss Universe contestant, but that is not a case of 'a gay' competing against 'real women', but a case of a post-operative transsexual (who is a real woman) competing against other women (who we assume to be real women as well). Not to open up…

Forgot to post I did this in the thread (logged it though!), totally slipped my mind until last night AFTER the rest of my workout. It was rough but I did it! Crunch x 25 Left Oblique x 25 Right Oblique x 25 Left Oblique x 30 Right Oblique x 30 Crunch x 15 ______________ Total : 150

My fav is some salmon, smoked or grilled, with avocado on whole wheat crackers. If you like it super-creamy, you can mash the avocado with some fat free cream cheese for more of a spread than a slice. This is my go-to after running. It tastes 'fresh' and gives me protein and nutrients I need without being heavy or greasy…

For snacks, put a bowl of varied snacks out in the open, that way you never start the 'rooting around in the cupboard/fridge' behavior which inevitably ends up with something less than ideal. Put a bunch of different stuff in there, bars, nuts, fruit, (healthy!) sweets, something that should equate to whatever sort of…

I've known quite a few people with allergies to certain preservatives, this is definitely something you'll need to test as well. An ex of mine used to be allergic to preservatives in peanut butter that was incorrectly flagged as an allergy to the nuts, but she ended up being sensitive to one of the additives and was able…

I do some tailoring and I agree that more than a few inches and what you're essentially doing is having them cut new pants from existing cloth, not bringing in some seams. That's not bad, per say, if the fabric is expensive and you get a good tailor, however it is essentially a brand new garment vs an alteration, so plan…

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED I think 100 crunches is a pretty good number on a regular day, so I'll push to do the 150! I usually do 25 standard, then 25 on each oblique and then another 25 standard, so I'll just double the obliques!

Someone tossed me some remnants after they stopped taking it and initially I didn't have much trouble with it. In fact, I didn't have any sort of reaction, and stopped taking them. Then I made the mistake of thinking they could counteract a lapse of judgement at a burger place and boy was I wrong! Quite without warning, I…

The one thing that I'm thinking we CAN do together is start eating cleaner/healthier. We popped into Whole Foods to-day before my belated birthday cookout with family and there was a great deal of pouting when we had to just rush in and rush out. We plan to go back soon for a more leisurely look around. I'm hoping that we…

This. The worst thing is that I know when I've had an 'off day' versus falling off the wagon by how often I'm having a BM. I get really frustrated about it too, and whine about how I couldn't weigh myself because I didn't have my morning constitutional! I'm very used to one in the morning, one midday and one at night, or…
