@Jdaley, you are awesome. :flowerforyou:

I'm a work in progress. Next time I take progress photos, it'll be in a month or so, since I'm just now starting to lift. These are from July '13 to August '13. Less of a time difference, but still: Edited to resize.

^ That... made me very sad. That doesn't sound functional, and I hope you find a way to be happy. Anyway, regarding the OP. I got a laugh out of this. I'm all for making my boyfriend happy (cooking, picking up his condo, etc) but it's because he takes care of me in return. If a man ever tries to tell me not to talk, what…

Yes, yes she does. Speaking of- here you go, OP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i6Jqu7BT4M

Not all "sugar daddies" have to be old... plenty of younger dudes who make lots of money, too! I mean. Not that I would know. :glasses:

I needed this. I'm slowly getting over my fear of being in the free weight area, so it's nice to be reminded that no one really cares what I'm doing there. Hopefully when I go in again today, I'll be slightly less anxious.

Anyway. I find it strange that you only started binging after quitting marijuana. Just seems backwards. I saw you're still living at home, so I guess your best bet is to ask your parents to limit junk food purchases so they're not as tempting. Though for a lifestyle change, you're going to have to learn how to control your…

Cake made with protein powder, I believe.

I don't use protein powder, but I like Luna Protein bars a lot. I'll always prefer my protein in the form of meat, though. :)

I just reached a point where I was done feeling crappy about myself. I realized that almost every day I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw, and I didn't want to live the rest of my life that way. Didn't think I could handle being unhappy like that. You're halfway there with logging and trying to exercise. You…

Looks pretty good... I'll definitely be trying soon.

It can't "hurt" to try I suppose, just saying eating non-processed foods won't make the weight magically fall off. It still comes down to calories in versus calories out. If OP switches to non-processed foods and what you call "good" carbs, she may end up eating less because those items will likely be more fiber dense (and…

:noway: Clean eating is simply a preference, it doesn't inherently help with weight loss. The only reason some people see a trend with that is because they are naturally cutting calories- BUT, processed foods =/= weight gain. Eating excess calories, in ANY form (read: clean or processed) = weight gain. The only things that…

:drinker: I love bread and carbs in general. Sure, I might feel a little bloated now and again, but lots of different foods can do that to me. I just learn how my body reacts to different things and avoid them if I feel the need to. That being said, I'm having a peanut butter sandwich before the gym later. Nom.

And you didn't share?

I have no science to give you. BUT, I've been eating a protein bar after lifting/intense workouts within 30 mins of finishing for a while now. I find it does help with easing soreness. Plus, I get some extra protein in my day. Bottom line is... it doesn't hurt.
-
First of all, I'm sorry you were hurt by his words. People do that stuff primarily to get a reaction- which you're giving him. If you encounter someone like that again, ignore it. Easier said than done I know, but it'll take the wind out of their sails. I can never think of anything snarky to reply with in the moment, but…

Look through my diary. I have maybe ~$150/month to spend on groceries, and I make it work. All the stuff I eat is pretty inexpensive. I'm a big fan of the frozen "family sized" bags of tilapia, chicken, etc. Canned veggies and beans are cheap too. Pasta is relatively inexpensive depending on the brand.

Can do. This site is all about support, right?

Depends on the person, I'd say.

I actually generally don't have an issue with protein, surprisingly. I'll be getting ~140g today which is nearly 20 more grams than my goal. I do love Tuna, though. :) RE: Upping my calories even more, mentally, I struggle with that. I just went from 1,390 to 1,500 today. Slowly but surely I'll get higher up. :flowerforyou:

@cdahl383, That's an interesting point RE: getting hungry due to it being psychological versus your body actually craving food. I wonder if that's been studied? OMG your profile photo. That looks amazing. Carl's Jr has a pop tart ice cream sandwich now that I've been wanting to try... looks so yummy.
-
When I was getting less than 1,000 calories a day there was. Sorry, I should have been more specific about that.
-
Thanks you two! I did get a very detailed reply via PM which was helpful, so I suppose I'm good to go.
-
Mix a can of Tuna with a tablespoon of light mayo, add some chopped celery. Throw that onto a bed of baby spinach. Done.
-
This, basically. You're just going to have to lead by example. If you know anyone who'd like to join who you know for sure will stay motivated, ask them to tag along. All you can really do is focus on you and the few who are actually active, and hope the rest will follow.

I usually eat a Luna Protein Bar.
-
I always log my alcohol to the best of my ability. I'm 22 and go out to bars every weekend, so that logging is probably... shady at best. Lol. It's hard sometimes remembering exactly what I had, especially if I'm taking unusual shots. But I want to hold myself accountable nonetheless.

I'm a female loser, but looks like I'm not the type you were looking for. Weight lifting seems to be the best option for tightening up skin/your overall body.
