Nope, don't wait. Re-read it and use it as your starting point this time around. Follow the information it gives you regarding calories, and the weight will come off. Diet for weight-loss, exercise for fitness. Get your calories right, exercise as you see fit, and you'll be good to go. Good luck!

Agreed- but the so-called "bulk" most people refer to when they say things like that is in reference to the female bodybuilders who are almost certainly not natty. Either way, they are not gross. :smile:

When I tell people I lift weights, and they exclaim "OMG you're going to get bulky and gross!" and then they proceed to do insane amounts of cardio, reach their weight goal, and wonder why they aren't happy with their body composition.

Well, hopefully quitting smoking is on the "to do" list for you. This is coming from someone who's trying to quit as well (cigarettes- I don't smoke anything else). I still run occasionally but if that's too hard on your lungs, just walk or do the elliptical. You can also lift weights.

Where did she say OP's goal "should be" anything? For the record I think it's silliness to completely ignore something that IS possible, even if it's not a certainty. My W:H ratio changed. I lost a couple inches off my waist and my hip measurement stayed basically the same over the course of several months.
