Protein/fiber bar.... I know it is lame BUT that is sort of how my morning goes. I'll eat better for lunch and dinner but mornings usually consist of meal replacement. I used to eat nothing prior to lunch but I have at least made an effort to do the bars.

Exercise has been shown to help release endorphins which will, in turn, in turn help elevate one's mood. The problem, of course, becomes to get enough out of the funk to get out and exercise. I do find that when I do break through and do that, my mood tends to improve when I am in a down cycle. Sometimes, you just have to…

I weigh daily but don't pay much attention to short term gains and losses. It is trends that are more important.

Each day is a new beginning. If you were to try to make up for yesterday (which I do not recommend), do it gradually and through additional exercise. Personally, I'd just log it and recommit to my original goal.

Initial responder is not really wrong here. The waste of course is eliminated but the body does store excess calories as fat. Body can store some as muscle if proper weight training and nutritional intake is used but if it is simple overeating, fat will be stored. The definition of immediately here should include the…

I love the ones where they say "You don't need to lose any more weight" and "You are getting emaciated"... (Understand that at the time, I was about 240 lbs and still considered obese by BMI standards.. People have such a distorted view of a healthy weight. The two questions you mention are: 1. "How much have you lost" --…

If your body fat is 15% or less and they are still there, why not see a Dr. to see what is up with it... May be hereditary (sort of sounds like it) but also, they may be able to help you medically.

His profile says he's 25 and has facial and body hair more consistent with that age group than a mid-teen. Not sure where we got this assumption.

I am thinking at 188 and 6'2" you are definitely in your IBW range (<25 bmi) and could probably benefit from a recomp or light, clean bulk. Yes, you do have a little BF around the lower abdomen but it really is not that horrible. You do need energy to be able to do the lifts that will help fill out those trouble areas.…

(I am a 6'3" male so I don't quite fit the OP target group but...) 1200 calories is hard for anybody to stay under for long term. If you break it down, we are talking 400 calories per meal if you eat 3 squares a day... and NEVER have a snack... That being said, none of us should be staying under 1200 calories for long…

It is an easy trap. Commit to it. If you mess up, don't come back in a month... come back tomorrow. Log even when you mess up... Start there first. We all mess up... That is life. Sometimes it is somewhat beyond our control... What do you do when you find yourself in a situation where it is expected that you eat in a…

1. Start fresh - today is a new day and a new beginning. 2. Evaluate what happened yesterday -- if it is stress eating, then work out alternative ways to work out or eliminate your stress. 3. If it was binging because you were bored, find alternative activities to fill your void time 4. If it was binging because you have…

Did not quite get there last month due to a URI at the month's end. As soon as I kick this URI out, I'm back at it... 30 mile goal for November.

I try to get in as many days a week as possible. I never work the same muscle group two days in a row but if you work Shoulders/tris then back/core/bis, then chest/tris, then lowerbody/abs and repeat, you work each group about twice per week even if you were to go daily. I hope to get back into it as soon as the URI lifts.

Not a doctor and don't play one on TV, but, this seems accurate. There IS such a thing as water intoxication and it CAN be fatal if done enough in the extreme. 2 bottles in an hour where you are feeling no ill effects should not be something to worry about. When you become water intoxicated, you will know it.

Yes, Band Directing can be stressful. My wife and I both teach band. Still, it sounds like there is a lot going on here. 1. Based upon the information that you have given us, it appears that you are not wrong to go. You should. Also, $95 is really not a lot of money to spend on something that you enjoy. A good video game…

I'm not going to join in the attitude bashing, but I will point out that in some ways it is a defense mechanism. They want to marry (I know you are not talking marriage here but ultimately, that would be on their mind as a possibility), somebody who they feel will be alive and not incapable of raising their family in 10-20…

Re-initiated mid-month - light challenge as we continue the downhill side of marching band.... 20 mile goal for now. 10/13/14: 1.5 miles - 18.5 to go. (biceps/back) 10/17/14: 2.0 miles - 16.5 to go (chest/abs) 10/20/14: 1.5 miles - 15.0 to go (Lower Body/Abs) 10/25/14: 0 miles - 15.0 to go (shoulders/abs) 10/26/14: 3.25…

Your life is worth more than the cost of a trip to the Emergency Room. These could be side effects of the meds OR something else.. In any event, I would curtail any strenuous activity for now and get seen by SOMEBODY... Also, any time you are on BP meds, I'd highly recommend having a BP monitor in the home to follow up;…

Protein requires more energy for the body to break down than Carbs and fats, however, any food gives more energy to the body than the body requires to break it down (if in sufficient quantities)..

'Twas not clothing, perse that caused me to decide to start getting healthier (although, I was adamant to not get to the point to where I had to wear size 50 pants... (I was rather snug in loose fit 48s at the time.)... Rather it was health concerns that sort of got me to reconsidering what I was doing to myself...…

For MOST of us, if we did not need a tool to help us stay within our calorie allotment, we would not have come here to begin with. Most of us needed that help... MFP is a great way to keep an eye on what we are doing. I've been logging here for nearly 2 years and have, for the first time, not lost and promptly regained...…

Two issues here. 1. You actually no longer like Thai ... That is ok on its own merit. Express that to your friend... Then make a decision as to what is more important to you... This opportunity to get together or the mandate to eat at this establishment. Hopefully, you can come together on this and select a mutually…

Eat what you normally eat in the commons... Just less of it. You should be fine. Most of the time, in College, the issue becomes the extras more than the on campus dining... You indicate that you are also athletic -- continue and maybe increase your exercise a bit will help as well.

Generally Diet Coke.. I do agree, however, that Diet Dr. Pepper tastes pretty much like Dr. Pepper.
