It's so weird that you posed this. For the past three days, I've been feeling lightheaded and dizzy.

Great job, Ford. You are doing so awesome and you are inspiring so many people along the way...including me.

Right now I'm just walking every day and counting calories here and trying to eat as clean as possible. I should be training for my half marathon in June, but honestly, I don't have the energy or the drive. I'm exhausted all the time. To the point of feeling like I'm going to have a break down. My insomnia is horrible and…

I've been bouncing around to different doctors for about two years now. Finally, the one I saw two weeks ago, at the Integrative Medicine part of the hospital, "diagnosed" me with Adrenal Fatigue. I'm still figuring it all out and reading a book that he recommended to me. Basically, I feel like crap all the time. I have…

That's the plan I followed last year and it worked awesome. I'm following it again now for a half in June. Good luck!

I met with a 4th doctor yesterday afternoon. He is a specialist at the integrative medicine hospital. He reviewed all of my lab results and confirmed that I would not respond favorably to thyroid medication. But, after a lengthy discussion about my symptoms and my life, he concluded that I suffer from adrenal fatigue. It's…

When I'm out running, I feel like a super star. Everyone that passes me is probably wishing they were out running. Or that they could run at all. I just get into my zone and do my thing and pay no attention to the haters. I run for me, and no one else.

Swat, don't give up. You can lose those two pounds. Keep your chin up and keep plugging along.

I always hated running and when I trained for my first 5K, I completely fell in love. There's a lot to learn, though, and it's taken me a long time...and I'm still learning! I have better runs when I take a day off in between. I have done back to back days of running, but then my hips ache because I'm old. lol

I'm not an expert by any means, but my opinion is that you need to eat more. I'm a runner, and when I first started, I didn't lose any weight. I gained a lot of muscle, though, and my body changed drastically. I was bummed about the new dropping any pounds, but I was proud of the changes I was making in my body. You need…

How's it going? Are you feeling any differently?

I weigh 229 pounds and I'm a runner. I'm learning to accept my body and all it's imperfections. I can run with no knee pain or aches and pains. I ran a half marathon last summer and rocked it like no one's business. My weight is only a number. It's hard work to learn to get over it. If you have the drive and the will, you…

I weigh 229 at 5'7" and wear a 16W.

Yeah, what's sex? Is that something new like Insanity? hahahaha j/k

Great job! You should be very proud of your accomplishment. I'm a runner and I'm overweight. If you work hard, anything is possible. The number on the scale will never hold me down.
-
Amy, which level are you talking about? TSH?

The endo I saw was about a hundred years old. He was not personable at all. He asked about my symptoms and wrote them down but asked nothing further about them. He tested the thyroid and the cortisone levels. When the results came in and he called me he said, "The good news is that your results are normal. The bad news is…

I eat a pretty balanced diet of lean proteins and whole grains and fruits and veggies. Lots of water. I don't eat red meat very often. I'm a runner, recouping from an injury right now, so most of my exercise was running. Right now I can walk and do the elliptical and ride the bike. I walk for at least 30 minutes everyday.…

Congrats on your loss so far! You should be very proud.
-
Pretty, I'm so sorry for all of your troubles. It sounds awful. Are you currently seeing a specialist?
-
Fish, I did have the antibodies tested and they are normal. So, I guess that rules out a thyroid problem all together, according to my doctor. I hope you love this site as much as I do. It's been really helpful to meet people who are struggling with the same things as I am.
-
Joanne, Congrats on your loss! You should be very proud. I'm glad you finally got the answers and treatment you needed. Melissa

Terri, Thanks so much for your reply. What I'm gonna do right now is keep tracking and keep exercising every day. I'm going to have my resting metabolic rate tested next week. I'm going to work on my iron deficiency and get that under control. If after a month, I'm still not seeing any results or feeling any better, I will…

At my insistence, the nurse told the doctor of my concerns. The nurse called back and said this from the doctor: that since my antibody levels tested low, that there is nothing wrong with my thyroid. That I should be concerned if the antibody level was high. And that I could see another endo for another opinion. I'm…

Don't kid yourself!!! 18 pounds is amazing and you should be proud of yourself! I'd cut off my arm to lose 18 pounds! J/K, but you know what I mean. I'm glad that you are getting the help you need and losing weight slowly, which is better in my opinion. I am currently going through the stages of bariatric surgery as I'm…

Thanks, cjm! I have done a sleep study and I don't have sleep apnea. I do snore on occasion, quite loudly according to my husband, but this is new as well. My sleep study was inconclusive. I have a lot of awakenings for no reason and terrible insomnia. So, this is another problem I'm dealing with. I've also been tested for…

cjm, I've been to two specialists. Both insist that my results are normal. I don't understand how this could be. How do I explain all of the symptoms? Am I just meant to have to work especially hard to lose one pound and feel like crud all the time? I'm not buying it. I will go to a hundred doctors if I have to. I might…
-
Thanks for the reply. I had my iron level checked and it's low. So, now I'm dealing with that, too.

Thank you, lme, for saying this! Because I don't feel okay. I haven't gotten a decent night's sleep in months, which isn't helping my weight loss troubles. My hair is falling out at rapid speed. It's freaking me out, actually. I'm dead tired and lethargic all the time. Sometimes I worry that I'm going to get hit by a bus…

Thanks so much for your reply! I've left a message for the doctor and am waiting a reply. I know that no matter what, it's gonna be hard work. I feel like the 18 months of hard work that I've put in have gotten me absolutely no where. I haven't lost weight, I've gained weight. Do I eat more than I should some days? Yes. Do…
