I usually go ahead and buy stuff and I make sure it's on sale. I deal with 'if I buy it, am I saying it's ok to not lose anymore?" and the answer is always "you'll lose more, but you'll look decent in the meantime!" Go ahead and treat yourself - just don't pay full price and know that this is only temporary!

'The Last Lecture' by Randy Pausch edited to add the "Divergent" series by Veronica Roth. This is a great series for those still "hungover" from Hunger Games. She's only written two of the three books so far though, so take your time - the final book won't be released until sometime next year (I think...).

See if you can find a run that supports a cause like Wounded Warriors - or the more popular - Susan G Komen walk/run is sometime in October, I think. That way he's not paying to run, necessarily - he's running and getting to support a good cause (and making you happy in the process)! Win win :)
