Chia seeds? like from chia pets? (j/k) No I haven't tried them. I may if I have BP issues in the future, but for now, it is doing pretty good, all things considered. I haven't heard of chia seeds. I'll have to google them ... tomorrow... I need to do my reading and get to bed.

I guess it's personal preference. I don't track sugar, but Pam does, and she TRIES to stay within the bounds, but she finds it difficult to do so in her low calorie weeks. I try to make most of my sugars come from natural sources such as fruits, but honestly, I couldn't tell you. I know that some of my zone bars are pretty…

I was in the Seattle area in the early 80's. I kinda wish I was there now. but I'm in Kentucky. I LOVE Seattle. Maybe some day my sweetheart and I will uproot and move.

That's what I was thinking ... No, I've never had my lunch stolen. I DID, however, one time accidentally dump my freshly heated lean cuisine into the sink!

Photography is one of many hobbies I have managed to accumulate. I'm old school, however, and haven't entered the digital era. Not many of my really good shots are in digital format, so I'll have to see if I can find some. Been enjoying photography since about 1968/69 Started off with a Kodak Bantam, and got to use Dad's…

What a beautiful post from a beautiful lady. It takes courage to be so frank on a message board such as this, but by doing so, you have shared a little bit of your experience, strength, and hope with all of us. Someone who reads this post may be helped, and that is a priceless value in and of itself. The road of recovery…

I looked at your food diary. Some of the things that stuck out: most of your steaks are around 30 calories per ounce... including your porterhouse. While I don't presume knowledge of what the calorie content of steaks down under is, that seems a little low. Even LEAN steaks here in the U.S. typically are no less than 40…

Wonderful news. Keep fighting the good fight, one day at a time!

I weigh myself daily, and write it on the calendar in the kitchen. I have learned, however, how my body responds to certain foods or meals. and also how it responds based on when I eat my last meal, and what time the meal was eaten. I don't obsess over it, and I don't get upset when it goes up or down. I use it along with…

While I don't have an eating disorder, I can vouch for www.therecoverygroup.org as a DEFINITE help for people who want to break the chains of addiction. I am an alcoholic, and that website has DEFINITELY helped me work through the 12 steps with my sponsor by giving me additional insight that is not readily available in the…

I had a couple of positives today: Weight/fitness related: I went to put on some old working pants do do some plastering. They were pretty tight the last time I put them on. Today they were LOOSE ... as in almost too big loose. While looking for a laptop power adapter, I came across an old bag of my navy uniforms. Out of…

^^^^^THIS!!! My favorite way is straight out of the rind with a little salt. I slice it in the rind with the backside of a butter knife (doesn't cut through the skin!) and spoon it out. I could eat two or three a day, but I try to limit myself to one, cause of all the fat in them.

Focus on the good. The good thing is that you resisted a cupcake today. Other than that, I don't have much in the ideas of motivation because I don't know much about you. Do you tend to binge alot? Do you just tend to get the munchies and call it binging? You said you need to lose 20 lbs ... will that get you back to your…

That's pretty much all I do for cardio. But we have two HUGE Airedale Terriers and one normal sized one, so even walking with them is quite a workout. But ... they keep us moving!

Confession IS hard. Saying to another human being what you have been hiding for so long is a gut-wrenching process. But once you DO confess your sins, you find such freedom. I'm going to paraphrase from Mike Donahey (of Tenth Avenue North) here, because I believe it is true (at least for me it is). " The Old Testament says…

Go back and pay for the extras. I am sure that as I am on my way to pay for the extras, someone will come across my path who needs the extras more than I do, and I'd give them the extras. But that's just me.

Simply beautiful and very well said. I made lifestyle changes also as a result of my dad's lifestyle. I am sure that he is proud of my changes, also.

Newmans Own ... It's the closest I can find to Seattle's Best ... Green Mountan Dark Magic is good, as is the Sumatra Blend. If you prefer less hearty coffee, try the Nantucket blend. As far as the flavored ones, I have no opinion, but my wife may ... I'll point her to this thread. I also like the spiced cider and the hot…

1. sweet potato chips last night. (tired munching) 2. sweet potato chips last night. (lazy munching) 3. nothing. I was tired, and I had already closed out my food journal, and HAD actually considered weighing them out and adding them, but I didn't feel like it. Other than that, what you see is what I got this past week.…

I sometimes like to have a nice Ahi Tuna steak for breakfast. Cook it like you would for dinner, but without the starch and veggie sides. Yummy ... wish I had one now. an 8 ounce Ahi steak will give you about 275 calories and about 49 G of protein.

WOW! What an amazing transformation! Your story was not boring. You spoke from your heart, and that's priceless. You have done some amazing work with both your physical and mental self, and you should be proud of your accomplishments. My wish for you is that you find that peace and happiness you are searching for. Best of…
