  • Oh and CONGRATS on your weight loss-that is fantastic!!!! :) :)
  • Swimming is a good thought--thank you for that! I hadn't thought of it but it might just work! I am glad to know that I can (hopefully) still lose with eating changes only.....I've sort of gone in to panic mode! :) Thank you for your thoughts!
  • Congratulations on your pregnancy!!! :) :) :) I have a master's degree in nurse-midwifery and had some thoughts on this... :) First of all, good for you for doing good things to keep yourself healthy during your pregnancy! You probably know this but it is very important that you gain the amount of weight that your…
  • Hi! My name is Kristi...I just joined (sorry I'm a little late!). I need to lose what I not-so-affectionately refer to as my "Grad school 'baby' weight". I wasn't pregnant ;) but I have been in grad school for the past 3.5 years and have put on approximately 20 lbs. I would LOVE to lose this weight now that I am finished…
  • Thank you all for your great thoughts and ideas--I really appreciate EVERY ONE and will definitely work through these. It is true, at least I'm here asking the question....so hopefully that will translate to true motivation. And as one of you said, once I can exercise again that might relieve some of the stress (and the…
  • Wow, you look FABULOUS--look at your abs!!! What did you do? I'm curious because you look so fantastic and I am starting out a little over where you started out.... (congratulations, by the way!)
  • Good for you, though,by the way--you are WAY more motivated with exercise than I am!!! that's great! :)
  • Clean diet and exercise is great...but your problem may lie in only eating 1000 calories. It is very unsafe to eat that few during the day, kicks your body in to starvation mode where your body feels like it needs to hang on to every calorie because it doesn't know when it's going to get more. I would recommend at LEAST…
  • Thanks for your thoughts, I really appreciate it! Is there a way to see weekly totals on MFP?
  • Thanks, y'all~I held off on eating last night, based on your suggestions.....but I was definitely ready for breakfast this morning! Thanks for all your thoughts, they were super helpful!!
  • I'd love to join you.... Do I get a free pass for being the first responder? ;) My SW is 184 (BLECH was up 2 lbs today)...goal weight is 145, then see where things are at from there. My goal is to lose 1 lb/wk. I have a running race at the end of the month and then after that will be meeting with a personal trainer. Being…
  • Hm. I see your dilemma. ;) Try eating a small piece of dark chocolate. It's way better than McDonald's anyway, sounds so much more "posh", and may take the edge off the junk food craving without a ton of calories...
  • Thanks for sharing....you helped me, as I had a 2 lb gain this morning and am feeling discouraged. I look at this kind of like a boxing match--some rounds I win, some rounds the weight wins, but I have to keep getting up and trying again, never stopping fighting for it. And, by God's grace, I hope we all can beat this! :)
  • Oh my. I am behind on everything here...lots going on with life, very challenging week at work last week, and got some terrible news yesterday. Buuut I NEED to pick myself back up and by grace start again! So, for this challenge I will not eat out this week. The only exception would be if I am going out to eat with a…
  • Bake your tilapia in the oven with garlic and a few onions (if you want them). Meanwhile cut up zucchini, summer squash, and tomatoes. Saute them lightly in a pan (with cooking spray), do the tomatoes last in the pan. When the tilapia is done, put the veggie mixture on top of the tilapia and add some feta cheese. Amazing!!!
  • Aw dang my last comment was supposed to above under the conversation about sodium and blood pressure. Guess I need to learn how to use this here site properly....sorry if the above comment seems out of context! :)
  • Good point! The body is amazing, isn't it? I am guessing they don't mean eating Taco Bell every day with 17,000 gms of sodium, eh? :) Also for you water lovers out there--along the same lines....I'm a nurse and studying advanced practice nursing (to be a certified nurse-midwife) and I have learned some related things about…
  • I've noticed HUGE differences in how I feel about my body depending on how much salt I've had! The water challenge last week was great (I got 8 glasses in most days, except for maybe one! yay!) so this is a nice follow-up to that!!! Gotta flush out all that water-hogging salt, eh? Thanks so much for doing this, this…
  • Hi ladies! :) (and gentlemen, if any join) My name is Kristi and I live in the midwest, where we are just starting to enjoy what looks to be a BEAUTIFUL fall! I'm glad to be a part of this group--I was looking for a little bit of support. My current weight (gag me) is 182.2 as of today--quite a wake-up call! I am in grad…
