The "BIG FOUR" metal bands for the gym. Flo-Rida for the streets.

Sometimes some nice cold powerade hits the spot - go for the full sugar kind. The gels are much easier to swallow while running but you should still have something to drink with them.

Running is like a bad marriage. You end up getting hurt, you drink a lot, and you keep coming back for more.

I'm old school I guess. I started in high school with Maiden, Priest, & Ozzy and then the BIG FOUR came along and It was too late - I was addicted. I bought a guitar (Charvel model #2) from Jim Root when we were both in high school (we had the same guitar instructor) and I used to work on Slipknot's van at work, but I…

Officially creeped a pic of a nice butt.

Good shoes, warm up, cool down, stretching and water. Take care of your body and it will be nice to you.

Hy-Vee road races at the Drake Relays. HM 4/27/14 - I think this one is going to hurt?

I usually believe that when you are hurting, it is your body getting stronger and not weaker. I guess I can expect some mild pain and discomfort after I exercise and that does not bother me. Then there are sometimes when my **** hurts big time and It effects the everyday things I do. So I take it easy because I dont want…

That's easy - the cool down and stretching. I do love the feeling after busting out a long run too.

Ok....... 200 yrs ago + pepsi and doritos.

I remember being in high school and being taught that eggs were soooo bad for you and carbs were soooo good for you. Now water is bad if you drink it out of a plastic bottle. Why don't we all try this new diet - if it wasn't around 2000 yrs ago - don't eat it!

I will flip you off every time if you yell out your car window "RUN FORREST RUN!" at me while I am running.

I'm guessing your longest run is next weekend? after that you will "taper" down your distances to save your body (and mind) for your race. It is kind of nice to take it a little easier during the last two weeks of training and you will not hurt your performance at all. You will have close to the same pace you had…

Carson? Where you @?

Wild ones by Flo-rida (feat Sia). I also like the theme from Rocky. Just try and slow down or stop running when the theme from Rocky is in your earbuds - not gonna happen.

Great job on the weight loss. I really like the half marathon distance (five under my belt) and I started running when I turned 40. Marathonrookie.com has a great beginner plan, but Hal Higdon has some great plans also. Listen to your body, use good warm up and cool down, get fitted for some shoes, and add some MFP friends…

You will definitely lose inches regardless of what the scale says. Give your knees a big hug and kiss before you begin - they are not going to like you for the next 30 days. It's a great all around workout.

My first race was a 20k. I was always a treadmill for 20-30 minutes kind of guy, so I had some base fitness. I started "hitting the pavement" at the end of March and my race was June 1st. I used (and still use) marathonrookie.com 1/2 marathon training schedule for beginners. It worked great for me. My best piece of advise…

I absolutely LOVE race day. There is nothing like building up to the big day, waking up, getting ready, getting to the starting area and telling yourself "it's time to run". I don't like the "creaks and tweeks" my body gets while training.

Go see your doctor and get a scrip for a smoking cessation drug. You take the pills and smoke for the first week and because of the drugs - they taste like crap. But ultimately when you really want to quit, it will happen.

marathonrookie.com has a great training program for beginners ( I still use it and just tweek it a little). I do my weight training during cold winter months and when I start running in the spring, I cut back to resistance bands and body weight exercises to help keep me "upright" when running.

Just got back from -12 degrees F and big time windchills.. Sweating but could not feel my fingers with two pairs of gloves on. My glasses frosted up when my breath hit the lenses. I ran fast but was not really into it because of the cold. Stay inside, hit the treadmill, watch sportscenter or game show network.

Getting kicked or punched in the stomach over and over will strengthen your core and control your appetite at the same time.

Pat's for me. Stopped in Philly (during my family's Bar Harbor, Maine vacation) just to eat at Pat's & Geno's, then back on the road.

Sleep or sonic chili cheese coney and then sleep.

If I was younger and single - BIG BROTHER! Or better yet - The Real World.
