Ouch! You really do need a hug. As a dad, I have made mistakes like your dad made yesterday, and I'm sorry you had to go through it. Parent's can be very hurtful! Mine were, at times. But be proud of your accomplishment! You've done a fantastic job and I bet you'll continue to do a great job. I don't even know you, but I'm…

Way to go!!! You should be very proud of yourself! Any 'friend' that didn't comment is probably just jealous and/or mad that you burned more cal's than they did. Keep up the great work!!1

This: WELL SAID!!!

Wow, bless your heart. I know what you're going through, because I was THAT GUY two years ago. My wife had to ask for a divorce before I woke up. Ask your husband to read "Every Man's Marriage". That book (and a lot of prayer!) saved my marriage.

LOL! My wife says the same things (well, not the hate part). I lose weight a lot easier than she does, but I wish it wasn't that way.

For me, YES!

Welcome! This is a great first step. I've tried many, many diets in the past, but MFP is the only thing that has worked for me. If you have a smart phone or Ipod touch, be sure to add the app, that way you'll always be able to log your food no matter where you are.

Way to GO!!! Wish I could do that... :)

Water is VERY important, not only for weight loss, but to your overall health. My nutritionist recommends drinking half your body weight in ounces. I'm 181, so I try to drinking 90.5 ounces of water a day, and it's really quite easy to do.

Acording to Fat 2 Fit Radio, you should never eat fewer calories than you BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). Your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto the fat. They seem to know what they're talking about, too. Use their calculator on http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ I'm not supposed to eat less than 1400 calories…

I usually cuss myself out and feel depressed. Don't delay breakfast, though! It could mess up your metabolism, from what I've heard. Bad days happen, so I try to forget them as soon as possible. Hang in there! We all mess up! And why not have a cheat day every once in a while?

Having these for dinner!!! Thx!!!

Just once a week. Gives me something to look forward to... or dread, depending on my eating...

Too much sugar is too much sugar, no matter where it comes from, imho. I eat quite a bit of fruit, too, but rarely go over my allotted sugar. Maybe you could switch to less sugary fruits? Dark cherries and blueberries are my faves....

I love Kefir. Especially the blueberry. I have a cup every morning. I started it just for the probiotics, but I love it now!

Ugh...if I have to choose one of them, I guess I'll take Madonna. :) Letterman or Leno.

Eating too little calories is a very dangerous thing. It can ruin your metabolism and cause all kinds of other problems. You end up burning muscle instead of fat. Since muscle burns a lot more calories than fat, you wanna hang on to it! The first thing you need to do is figure out your Basil Metabolic Rate. You can find…

How's your water intake? Plus, if you're not weighing yourself at the same time each day, it's probably just fluid fluctuation. If you keep your calories under your goal, you'll get there. It may just take a little while. Don't give up!

Hey Kristen! Welcome! This site is the only tool I've ever found for losing weight that works for me. I know how you feel, by the way, when you talk about discouragement, but I've found a few good friends here that keep me accountable. I've lost 10 pounds in no time since joining here, but before that, I lost 17 pounds,…

Well, I live in Nashville, Tennessee, so I'm not gonna make a good walking partner, but I'll cheer you on as you lose the weight!

I love your attitude! And think about this.... It really does us good to overindulge every once in a while, because it kinda resets your metabolism a touch and kicks it into high gear! So, don't think that you messed up, just think that you reset your metabolism and had a great time doing it!

My best advice is to stop dieting. This site is a wonderful tool for the yo-yo dieter because it trains you in how to eat properly. you can still get a bunch of good food everyday and never be hungry and still lose weight, just by keeping the calories under your goal and walking a bit everyday. I love it! Download a few…

I have oatmeal with one tablespoon of cocoa and 3/4 cup of blueberries. Yummy! Only a little more than 200 calories and good for you, too! Keeps me going til my mid-morning snack.

Hi Miss Bev! I love this site, too! It's the perfect tool for losing weight. It's not like a crash diet. Instead, it teaches a new lifestyle so the weight STAYS OFF! i love that! Anyway, welcome!

Hi L! the way I stay motivated to walk every day (the only exercise I do) is that I listen to motivating podcasts. There's nothing like hearing about the health benefits of exercising while you are exercising! My favorite podcast is the Fat2fit podcast, but I'm sure there are plenty. You can go to fat2fitradio.com to check…

Hey Julz! I've been using MFP for only about a month now and LOVE it! It really keeps me on track and I've met a couple of great friends here. Every time I think about having something rich with calories, I just think about entering it into my diary and I (usually) pass on it. Anyway, Welcome!

I've heard a lot about that site (sparkpeople) recently, but have never checked it out...until now! Very cool! thanks for the link

I asked my health instructor this very question when I was in college. She said, "No. You can't consider anything water, except water. Once it goes through those coffee grounds, its coffee, not water. Same with tea. Those things have health benefits, and are good, but you can't consider them water. As far as soda or energy…

According to the fat2fit podcast, carrots and celery are negative calorie foods. They have calories in them, but they burn more than they contain as they are digested. I have added both (as well as mushrooms) to my diet in a big way! They also mentioned a lot of other negative calorie foods, but those were the only two I…

Hey mreed! Stay motivated! You didn't ask for this, but here's how I stay(ed) motivated....Take pictures now, in swimming trunks so you can keep comparing your 'new' self to what you were. (I actually keep a picture of me at my largest in my wallet) Also, I load up my ipod with motivational podcasts (I LOVE the fat2fit…
