  • I'm due with my second, a boy (& last) in late August. Planning on starting back up with walking my 16.5 month old girl... I NEED pregnant accountability partners :)
  • I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow & trying not to put on as much weight with baby #2... I couldn't figure out how to add you, but you're welcome to try to add me, Anya06.
  • Awesome! I'll start there... Thanks
  • I'm not 100% sure how many calories I should be having either. I'm Ashley & I'm 5 weeks PP, EBF-ing (9 times per day) & currently set to a "1670" cal allotment. Trying to lose no more than .5lbs per week. Thoughts?!
  • My hubby & I have been TTC since the end of Oct '11, beginning of Nov '11. It's become REALLY frustrating meeting women through Fb & seeing many of my friends become pregnant, without even trying! Maybe we can all try to be each others advocates for getting healthier & staying that way! Feel free to add me if you'd like…
  • Grrreat ideas EVERYONE  Do any of you have suggestions OR have simple/tasty recipes that you like to follow on a normal basis?! Neither me or my hubby like to cook, but I'd like to get my "feet wet" (so to speak)... I'm looking for recipes that are relatively quick & require few ingredients. Any help would be most…
  • Lol! Me next... I haven't had a massage in months :frown:
  • Google: "calories burned doing massage" Several different links...
  • Also a LMT... I know this was posted early last year, but I once googled an article that talked about 'Easy Ways to Burn 100 Calories.' One of the ways was by giving an "intimate" massage to your partner for 19 minutes; that didn't include what came after  Anyway, according to this story, 19 minutes burned appx 100…
  • Let's dooo it  Name: STARG1RL (Ashley) Starting MFP weight: 164 lbs Current weight: 158.6 lbs Goal weight: 143 lbs What you would like to accomplish in 90 days?: Hubs & I are TTC our 1st, so if that happens, I'm just gonna work on getting healthier for me & our unborn child (resistance training, etc), but until…
  • Massaging the Tibialis Anterior muscle (the musle on the mid-outer part of your lower leg) after your runs, may help too, along with all of the stretches, ice, etc that the other MFPers have mentioned, good luck  I'm almost done with my Massage Therapy program, woohoo!
  • I now know that I have the same HRM... But I think my hubby recalibrated it for himself the other day, so unless I reset it (I still don't understand how to use it), I'm sol  G/l figuring yours out Kathy!
  • Question for you ladies, since we're on the subject of trying to concieve... I'm on Trinessa, a generic birth control pill, & have been for several years now. For those of you with experience of being on the "Pill" & then going off of it when you're trying to become pregnant, is there really any set amount of time that I…
  • Agreed! I'm in the same boat... I'd like to be a better ME before trying to conceive ("mini me") as well! We'd like to start trying in about 5 months (July-ish) & this is an attainable goal for me! For the orginal poster: prayers & the best of luck with weight loss & with concieving...
  • Are you running on an incline? If not, you should be at least at a 1%... Just saying  My treadmill, is where I do the majority of my runs & a tiny bit of incline helps, BIG TIME!
  • Yes, consider yourself the lucky one! I've lost at least 17 lbs since my wedding last May & want to continue to lose/ gain muscle mass before my 1st Anniversary. I want to be EXTRA healthy later this summer, when we'd like to try to get pregnant too!!! The best of luck to you...
  • Because this site is mainly helping people "Count Calories" it's for those foods that you know the # of Calories for, but not necessarily anything else about! Hope that helps...
  • I agree 100% & thanks again for the encouragement the other day that doing "13 minutes of running" when I wasn't feeling well was a good job  Unfortunately, my husband doesn't like ellipticals, however, still enjoys running. In fact, he's getting back into his slump as I write this. We bought our treadmill…
  • Glad to hear it! Hope that it'll help you continue
  • I had my first Yoga class last night... I don't remember what the instructor said the moves were called for sure. I admit, it was a bit challenging but felt really good, once I was done  After the stretches, I was able to touch my hands to the floor! I intend to continue this class, although, because of my work &…
  • If I try to go out wearing sweat pants, my husband will say "You're really going to wear that?!" It makes me think twice about it & is kind of a wake-up call to me, even though it's more comfy to wear sweats it look sloppy! G/l with both of yours, btw :)
  • I like this one... But I'm gonna piggy-back on what some of you others have mentioned previously anyway because they're "My New Year's Healthy Habits" not necessarily Resolutions (I messed up Jan 1st & 2nd but picked up the 3rd) Including but certainly NOT limited too: -Improve my upper body strength (as I'm in school to…
  • Yep, generally in the cold months I'm smearing Aquaphor it on my lips too -- it works really well!
  • Wow, thanks so much EVERYONE! I think I'm gonna take the plunge & give it a real try... No sense in not trying something new!
  • Try About.com "3 Weeks to a 30 Minute Running Habit," that's the one I've gone by & tonight's my 21st day  OR the other one that was suggested (& I assume it's basically the same idea) "Couch to 5k"... Good luck & again, HAPPY NEW YEAR/ HAPPY RUNNING all!
  • @ gahdzila "I'm running on a treadmill with no incline" I've read several articles on treadmill running & one of the first things they mention is that you should run with a minimum of 1% incline, to reduce the risk of injury, just an fyi  I have mine set to a 2% because it feels more natural to me than running with…
  • I'm just about done with About.com's "3 Weeks to a 30 Min Running Habit"... I really truly enjoy it! I, like several of you, have never considered myself to be a runner but I can honestly say that I love how I feel after I've logged a run/walk & that as soon as I'm done on Thursday, I'm moving straight into training fo my…
  • Good luck!!!
in Hi! Comment by STARG1RL December 2010
  • I must say, it's something that I'd  to try, especially to strenthen my upper body (as I'm in school to become a Massage Therapist) but with studying for my classes taking up most of what little free time I have, I don't know that it'd be worth it for me to take an interest in... Maybe I'll take advantage of a…
  • Agreed! This is a great way to think about weight loss & health in general... It's not just losing lbs for good (all of us here want that) but gaining so much more from life because of losing it. I hope to read many more posts from you because, you are a great example of what MFP can help people do in their day to day…
