Tortilla soup, ....it's mostly all veggies til you top it with cheese and/or tortilla chips. You choose to top it or not.

Kappy, Have you tried spaghetti squash? I think it's just to die for. Slice in half the long way. You can bake it or steam it till done. Use a fork to pull /shred the squash away from the skin. As it pulls apart, it looks like spaghetti. You can put spaghetti sauce on it, or any kind of pasta sauce. I like it with lot fat…

Take a look at your kids' lunch menus. The food is horrible.......worse for the high school kids than in grade school. I think Jamie has a great idea.......wish more people would listen. Just my opinion.

So interesting, Mollie. Such a good idea....journaling. oprah swears by it. Don't where you're getting all these "inspirations" you post, but they're right on the money. I look forward to reading them. Cassie

Katzpawz......what a wonderful post. It all makes such good sense. I've been one of those strugglers lately. I'm going to try your reaffirmation idea starting tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will help. Take care, girl......you're doing real good. And don't be so hard on yourself.....;-) Cassie

WEDNESDAY WEIGH IN / EXERCISE. The scale tells me I've lost 1.5lbs this week, which is great.....but most of the week I've been fightin with water retention. Any little extra salt just really get me....and it's not unusual to gain 5 to 10lbs in just water. I've also started walking.....not far or fast, but walking 20…

MJ.......I try to keep my breakfast & lunch calorie real low, because I know that dinner always seems to be higher in calories even in small portions. Also I'm one of those folks that if I go too lite with dinner calories, I know I'll belooking for some kind of snack before bed time. So you see my delimma. I also change my…

Hey Everyone.......Sorry I've been a little out of the loop lately with keeping up with all of you here. I have been reading and sending a few posts.....I'm kind of a day late and a dollar short.... So the last few days have been rather depressing....three days of snow....off & on all day ....enough snow and wind to keep…

LOL. .......oh Christy, your post made me chuckle when I read the part about you being a water snob. Goodness! I thought I was the only one who is a water snob. Where I live, we have a community well that our water comes from. It provides well water to only 75 families. And it is really good tasting water. But if I go away…

MJ.....it's often difficult when all the "stuff" gets in the way and knocks us down. I sure know how ya feel cause that's where I've been the last couple days too. I think we just need to keep trying.....pick ourselves up and put on a smiley face and walk forward. I wish I had a better answer. HUGS! Tomorrow is a new day.…

Katzpawz, when I have a meal that I don't know the calories, I give it a wild guess as near as I can figure it and then I just "0" my calories and close out my food diary for the day. Most often it will be a meal that will put me over on cals. So it's kinda like I blew it for the day....maybe. and when that happens I try…

I can sooo relate, Jo. That salt and the long ride are killers. Check out "dandelion root in your local grocery or health food tore. I bought capsules. Suppose to be a natural diuretic. I believe it has helped. Cassie

Jo.....love that zicchini squash with Italian seasoning too. I've never met a squash I didn't like. To cook your spaghetti squash, I cut it in half lenghtwise. Then you can either bake it or steam it. I have a Tupperware Stacker with the steamer/colander that I cook my squash in. Steam it until the squash is kinda soft…

Joanna.....good for you for planning ahead for your evening out. But will you share your recipe for FLAX CEREAL. It sounds interesting. Texture shouldn't be a problem......I like my steel cut oats on the chewey side.....instead of mushy. Thanks in advance for your recipe. Cassie

Hey Jo..... Glad you're home safe and back on here posting. Regarding your squash: after you add Splensa , try a little cinnamon & nutmeg....or pumpkin pie spice (they're about the same thing). Makes it real yummy. Sweet potatoes & yams can be done the same way. Also, have you tried spaghetti squash? Very versatile...hot…

The key....as far as I'm concerned.....is limiting calories & strict portion control. Exercise is good....but you can lose weight without exercise. I lost 79lbs years ago without a lick of exercise. JMHO.... CASSIE
