  • first off unless you have HRM MEANT to be worn all day (like the bodybugg) don't. Our bodies burn calories all day long, breathing, digesting, growing hair and nails, blinking etc. Most HRM aren't meant to be worn all day so the readings they give you outside of ACTUALLY exercising are NOT accurate because they aren't…
  • Sizes now are also not the same as about 10 years ago. So a size 10 now is bigger than a size 10 from ten years ago. :( It's called vanity sizing :( I'd much prefer the men's version of sizing based on actual measurements but women are too "demure" for real inseam sizing (the reason behind us having completely arbitrary…
  • It does change based on your weight, I know when I started I burned more calories doing those activities than I do now (according to MFP). I've been here a year and eat back about half my exercise calories since I still don't have a HRM. It's a good compromise and so far no plateau :D
  • I don't, it's too much of a hassle honestly. If it's something I know has calories in it then I MIGHT but I don't really track my sodium intake either.
  • I would talk to my partner before making a decision like that no matter what, but I'm married (almost 10 years), so no way one of us would take a vacation without making sure the other was okay with it.
  • www.skinnytaste.com has Tons of good recipes. I've made several so far (doing about one a week) Santa Fe Chicken, Easiest Broccoli Pasta, Asian Grilled Chicken, Taco dip, Thai Chicken and Pineapple. I'm not sure what is next.
  • Use quinoa instead of rice. I just use a low sodium soy sauce and use just a small amount of it. Stir fry at home is one of the lowest cal dinners I have and it's super filling! Last night I made: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/06/thai-chicken-and-pineapple-stir-fry.html It was AWESOME! served over quinoa but over brown…
  • I do use it but the GPS annoys me, it's much less accurate than my other apps with GPS, and will tell me that I'm only in a poor or fair area for it even when there's no clouds, trees etc in the way. So if I run, or bike in a tree filled area the GPS quits working correctly.
  • I use it on occasion. The chocolate and strawberry aren't bad as long as it's cold. Many people gain weight when doing protein drinks because they CAN be full of calories, so as long as you are within your calorie goals it won't matter.
  • Have you ever run any kind of 5K before (this is a little longer)? Do you do any type of workouts that are similar to the course? I've found that while there are people that get up off the couch and do it, they don't usually do it well and they are the ones likely to really injure themselves. For ME I'd love to do the…
  • The only time I lost 2lbs a week (or more) is when I first started and I had a minimum of 83lbs to lose. In the one year that I've been here my weight loss evens out to 1.3lbs a week. That makes me happy, because it's 73lbs less than I weighed when I started!!
  • When I was just about a month shy of my 18th birthday I was approached by Playboy when they were locally recruiting (yes it was legit) so myself on that day is my inspiration. I'm probably already more FIT now than I was then because I KNOW I couldn't run a 5k then. But that look is what I'm going for again :D
  • Most people agree (not all) that you should be NETTING 1200 calories, MFP won't ever set your eating calories to less than 1200 calories per day even if it's unrealistic. So if you are working out then you need to eat back some of those calories. The other thing would be that since you are close to your goal set it to lose…
  • If you feel comfortable with it you can open your diary to the public and many of us can take a look and offer suggestions for ways to get calories in, in a healthy way. I'd start with adding a handful of almonds a day, it will bump you up about 150-200 calories depending on how you eat them (raw, salted etc).
  • I started with over 80lbs to lose last August. So I know how it is to need to lose a lot of weight. You NEED to eat more, minimum 1200 NET calories each day and really more most of the time (especially early on). So eat back your exercise calories!!
  • I started with over 80lbs to lose. I could see it in the pictures soon-ish but for me looking in the mirror I didn't feel like it was a lot until about 20-25lbs were gone. It's why I think before, during, after pictures are sooo important. It's easier to see in pictures than in the mirror earlier. I once read it takes…
  • Most antiperspirants have aluminum in them as well so it could be a reaction to the metal in the deodorant, they do make them without but you have to look for them (they're usually all natural, organic etc types) :D
  • Whether you're being serious or not I'll answer seriously. Uhh anything that's part of my daily life (or even several times a week) that I did BEFORE I lost the weight doesn't get counted, IE cleaning the house, vacuuming, sex, doing dishes etc. Even with life style set at sedentary it's just not something that you need…
  • Throw your scale out! Don't make mecomee and hide it. This is the ED talking and making you crazy. Don't weigh yourself every day and if you must only do it once a day. You know you're just feeding it otherwise (hug)
  • This! My husband has a different metabolism than I do, he likes different foods than I do. Why should what *I* need to eat and do dictate what HE needs to eat and do. While my husband has changed his eating habits and most of the time we eat and cook together but not all the time. I have learned that it's just not possible…
  • I own NONE of the things you posted that you want or have LOL and I've lost 73lbs in one year :D What I did invest in was good running shoes (walking shoes first but now I'm on running shoes), an elliptical machine (about $800 which is a lot but I had a free one from Craigslist before that). Otherwise I walked on the…
  • Oh I forgot! Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing here too!!
  • Princess Bride Drumline Sweet Home Alabama Bring It On
  • I think that most of us with a lot of weight to lose think that at some point. I know I've changed my end goal a couple of times now, but that's mostly because I was terrified of never getting there and the almost 100lbs it would be to lose from where I started. What I've found as I went along (been here a year) is that my…
  • I have a pair of headphones that hook over the ear. They are these: http://www.amazon.com/Memorex-EC100-Over-Ear-Active/dp/B001GGK5G6/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1313850636&sr=8-17 I hate ear buds because no matter what I just can't keep them in while sweating and jogging.
  • I'm on week 9 of C25K and running a 13:30 min/mile. I know I'm slow that's okay, the speed will come later. I NEVER ran before starting C25K. An 11min/mile would be awesome!
  • I used to be a Victoria's Secret girl so I was excited to be back in sizes they carry. Lane Bryant was my go to for bigger panties, they carry 12/14s I think. I'm a bra and panty snob. I need to match, they need to be cute and girlie. So mostly I wear thongs or cheekies etc. I have two drawers filled with panties :o And…
  • If you like Qdoba's guac it's super easy recipe! avocado (duh!) chopped onions chopped cilantro lime juice salt Super easy and nothing fancy. I really dislike tomatoes in my guac.
  • I make my own shakes usually for lunch. 1/2 cup Light and fit vanilla yogurt 1/2 cup Mott's all natural no sugar added applesauce 1 scoop GNC Pro performance Amp protein powder 1 cup frozen fruit of choice If it's too thick I add a splash of water, all for only 247 calories and with 25g of protein :D it's a HUGE shake too…
  • Unless it says it's the individual it's the whole pizza (1/3 of the BBQ chicken is like 300ish calories) get it on thin crust or honey and save even more calories too!
