I'm at 75lbs lost so far, If I get to my ULTIMATE goal weight I will have lost 100lbs just for me, not because of surgery etc. It's taken me a year to get this far and I'm okay if it takes an entire 'nother year for more. It's about changing my life not a diet. It's so cliche but true. I had to completely change my LIFE…

I love my smoothies! I didn't think it would keep me full enough but I find it's great for it, I do a scoop of protein powder in mine too.

My current goal is the top of healthy BMI (using my bone structure too not just height). My ULTIMATE goal is pretty smack in the middle for most charts. For the ones you posted my UG is right in the middle of both of those. All the charts and BMI etc are only PART of the picture though. I'll likely never meet my ultimate…

For MOST people it does get better. I felt the same way for the first 8 weeks or 3 months or so. It was SUCH a change in my life that I had to think about it all the time because I had to plan out EVERYTHING I ate, and EVERYTHING I did (for working out). So it was consuming. But what I found happened as I went a long was…

I'm 5'7" and 167lbs and my size US 12s are getting big on me in jeans. I'm an hour glass shape too.

You can do this! I had just over 80ish pounds to lose when I started here Aug 2010 too. It has taken me just over a year but I'm down 74lbs now and so much happier and better off now. Start slowly, know that it takes a long time, and set backs happen but in the long run it's SOOOO worth it! You can do it!!!

I use it any place I would use rice. The texture is a little different than rice and it looks different for sure but it tastes great. Also a little goes a long way. DH and I have found we eat about half the amount of quinoa as we did of brown rice.

Set lots of mini-goals for yourself so it's not one big number. Put up a sign on your fridge "Are you bored or are you hungry?" I eat when I'm bored so that was mine but yours could say something different. Know that it takes time to really form a new habit. I planned out what I would eat for the first month down to the…

LAYERS! no cotton! A good pair of compression tights and a good wicking fabric shirt to start with :D I'm building a winter running wardrobe because I live in Wisconsin where it will be very cold soon enough.

If it's not lightening and thundering I run in the rain, it's actually kind of nice because it keeps you cooler. If you have access to an indoor track or a treadmill then use that as an option. I rarely skip a workout for any reason so I'd just find a way to do it, everything else is just an excuse.

It binds the meat together (I assume you're talking like tuna casserole, or shepard's pie). You can make your own though super easy http://www.cheapcooking.com/Recipes/homemade-cream-of-soup.htm I just pulled a recipe quick, I just make my own by playing with it so I don't use a recipe. That way you can add as little or as…

http://www.mybodygallery.com/ On that site you can input your info for your body type. I'm 5'7" and an hourglass and my size 12 jeans are getting loose on me now at 168lbs.

I was referred by a friend here, and I've referred several people too. It's something I try and share with EVERYONE!
-
My husband forced me to take them, told me I never had to share them if I didn't want to and no one would have to see them. Now I'm so glad I did. I'm mad I didn't do measurements because that was just too scary for me, but having the before pictures has REALLY helped me when I feel like I'm having a bad day.

oops sorry double post

When you're close to your goal weight that's what happens. When I started it was easy to lose 2lbs a week (or more) but in a year it's still averaged out to 1.3lbs a week for the first year. I'm pretty sure the last 10-15lbs are going to take me 6 months or more, plus I'm doing more strength training now so it comes off…

If you don't have a medical reason to watch sugar intake ignore MFPs recommendations. MFP doesn't differentiate between natural sugars from fruit etc and sugars added into foods/drinks. I do 1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup mott's all natural no sugar added applesauce, 1 cup frozen fruit and 1 scoop of GNC protein…

We're even weirder then in the US. Our races are in Kilometers not miles (5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon) but we still tell you our MILE time. Which really makes no sense if you think about it, LOL. So I'll tell you that I run a 12:30 min/mile even in a 5K race and tell you the total time it took me to run it but…

Everyone hit the nail on the head, you need to lift weights, reduce fat and build muscle. You may actually gain weight but look and feel smaller. Meet Staci- http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/ She actually weighs more at the end than in the middle and yet she looks thinner…

I could tell in pictures pretty quickly, but for myself I didn't really SEE it until about 20lbs lost, but I had a lot to lose (over 80lbs minimum). I noticed it in my belly and hips right away. Of course now that I'm pretty close to my minimum goal my tummy is the most stubborn spot!

I think that having short hair (I have the Victoria Beckham asymmetrical bob) is both more and less work than long hair. I MUST be cut every 6/7 weeks to keep it's shape, I can't avoid styling it to look good every day. The pony tail saved me time day to day, but the long hair took longer to do something nice with so it…

I use the guided option and then go into custom and change my protein to 30% so I'm at 40/30/30 for carbs, protein and fat. That just means you have to go BACK to guided every 10lbs or so because it won't automatically tell you that you need to drop calories because you've lost weight.

Thanks for the info!

I just graduated from the C25K program and I'm running 5k 2/3 times a week as my normal run now. I'm going to work on the bridge to 10K soon too!

Just place the chest strap under your bra at the bottom, under your boobs. The other poster is right that 99% of HRM are NOT meant to be worn all day, only during exercise so they aren't accurate for all day calorie burning.

This is a pound of feathers vs a pound of bricks. A pound is a pound no matter what it is. HOW BIG that pound is in volume is different. Muscle is more dense than fat so it takes up less room in space than a pound of fat. I really wish people would think about this the right way more often :D It's VOLUME we should be…

Women don't have enough testosterone to bulk up like those crazy weight lifting models who take steroids. Women look like this: http://i.imgur.com/nj1UJ.jpg lifting weights will slim you down and smooth you out! Here's another woman lifter: http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/…

I've changed in the fact that I now turn to exercise for stress relief instead of food. I found out I LOVE running. I'm much better at dealing with stress overall when I exercise regularly too.
-
I agree with the other poster. You need to find an effective way to reduce stress that does NOT include food. My husband has Multiple Sclerosis, I'm a wife, a mom, a full time nursing student. Yet I have found that I can't provide for others unless I take time for ME. That means 45ish min of exercise all to myself 5/6 days…

Everything is just an excuse, until you're ready to give up the excuses you'll have more. I decided one day I was done with excuses. The first step out the door is the hardest. Each time I think about skipping a workout I ask myself "Tomorrow what will I regret more, doing the workout or skipping the workout?" 99% of the…
