  • I use Kraft mayo with oil. It's a lighter version and it's better than margarine or butter even for calories. I use it to make grilled cheese sandwiches (on the outside where you normally use butter). I LOVE tuna melt for lunch with soup, especially in the winter.
  • I'm 5'7" and an hourglass shape. I'm currently between 165-168 (keep gaining and losing the same 3 lbs lately!) I started out here at 242!! My goal weight is 150-155. I've always had boobs and a butt even when I was in high school and at 142, I just don't think that's a realistic weight for me now. Currently I'm a 36DD and…
  • Good work done well, maintained well is definitely sexy on men and women. The only places I don't like are hands/face/neck. The really obvious can't be hidden ever spots I guess. Mine are located in places that can be hidden for work/school. I've had most people shocked at school/work if they do find out that I have…
  • Smokin' LOVE it!!
  • I've actually been glad we've been as mild as we have in Wisconsin so far but yesterday and today were a shock :( I hate winter and dream of the desert.
  • Yak Trax!!! They go onto your shoes so you don't slip in the slush and ice. I also use this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eC5toC0vms as a guide. I am in southeastern Wisconsin so I need warm clothes to be outside and layers are your friend, cotton is your enemy.
  • When people ask me how I do it I say "The hard way, I move my butt more and put less food in my pie hole" They don't like that LOL.
  • In my house I do 95% of the cooking, there for our son eats what I cook. If DH doesn't like what I'm making he's a grown man and can make something else but mostly he just eats a bigger portion of what I'm making. If you cook feed the kids, if your husband doesn't like it tell him to make something else. BUT unless the two…
  • Someone here linked her and she's become my weight lifting hero LOL. I probably am not QUITE dedicated enough to eat and work out like she does but it gives me hope that I CAN lift heavy weights. I LIKE weight lifting!
  • Amen! And to show what Myth number 2 REALLY looks like when a girl lifts heavy meet Staci!!! http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/ She weighs more at the end and yet is OBVIOUSLY smaller, smoother and more toned than when she weighed less. That scale is NOT the ultimate goal!
  • I'm logging it at 20 min of circuit training too. I'm doing day 9 today!!!
  • The end is always the hardest. I definitely recommend weight lifting to tone up and realize that as you add muscle mass you may not lose weight on the scale but you will lose INCHES which is really what we want at the end.
  • Walden Farms has a "calorie free" dressing line. I use it only for the dipping of carrots into "ranch" It's just the way I like my carrots and it's worth it for me :D I haven't had a problem finding them in most regular grocery stores, and they have a lot of flavors.…
  • You are to the point where you need to STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE, and pick up a tape measure. Meet Staci- she looks better and is smaller at a HEAVIER weight because she's full of nice muscle instead of flabby fat. The scale is NOT the end all be all.…
  • I'm on day 8 and days 3 and 4 were SOOOOOREE. It got better after that and I'm not really sore the rest of the day now. I'm trying to do it straight to Christmas too!
  • 6 days a week and I spend between 20-45 min. I'm a wife, mom, nursing student so any little bit counts because I just don't have longer to spend working out.
  • I make turkey soup with the left over turkey and freeze it in portions. Add noodles to it when you thaw and serve it (or rice). I eat left over thanksgiving if I have it, it's easy to portion out turkey, gravy and stuffing into a normal daily meal, we actually eat that stuff on a semi-regular basis.
  • I finished day 7 today, I don't really hurt anymore after the cool down but I don't feel like my cardio endurance is getting any better yet. The measurements are the most important part. I only weigh once a week though so I don't panic about fluctuations. In over a year of weight loss I had to learn that they happen.
  • Beautiful, pretty or sexy are all compliments, cute is a 12 year old.
  • I chose what my weight was on the first day I joined here. I came and joined on Aug 8, 2010 and I weighed 242lbs that morning. I had been thinking about it for about a week before that but something just clicked and that was IT for me!!! I would start with what you are/were when you started here, some other weight 5/6…
  • Love the elliptical! It's great to work out on it for an hour at your first time. Make sure you learn how to use the weights, and check out the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" Lifting weights is important :D
  • Hugs! It took us a year and a half, just about the time that my doctor would have started looking for a "real" reason. I suggest finding out what your partner's sperm count is first, it's a non-invasive test for him so easy to do and go from there. Finding out issues on the woman's side is more complicated so start with…
  • I always round down for exercise and up for food if I'm in between an option. I measure and/or weigh almost all my food so I can be as accurate as possible. I only eat back about half my exercise calories because I do not have a HRM (heart rate monitor) so I do not want to over eat. There are 23523624646 threads about…
  • Well that's about 28lbs, so if you optimize at 2lbs a week that's about 14 weeks, but with under 30-ish pounds to lose I'm going to guess more like 1lb-1.5 pounds a week. So don't panic if it goes slowly and it takes you up to 6 or even 7 months. I dropped the first 75lbs averaging about 1.3lbs a week but the last 15 are…
  • Another vote for the New Rules for Lifting for Women.
  • (HUGS) I admit that I had some of this after I started losing weight, I knew that this was really not my body (or at least not the one I wanted) anymore. Before I started losing weight I lied to myself a lot, so I started lying to myself again ;) This time it was things like: Ohhh look at how great my hair looks because…
  • Congrats! I'm on day 3 of my first round. Did you take measurements and weight before and and after? I'm just wondering what your stats were/are.
  • I eat back about half my exercise calories (I don't have a HRM so that factors in for me) and I love it. I think it's silly to starve myself to lose weight because no one can sustain that forever, this is my life so I need to listen to my body and know that it needs good clean fuel to workout and build muscle properly.
  • I just say no thank you, no explanation required. I'm not on a diet I just chose to change the way I eat. So if there were something there I LOVED I might have some but likely just junk so I skip it.
