My son is Gabriel Michael, so he got two angels :D He's also born 2 days before Christmas. I like names that are "real" names and yet not in the top 10 of names either. I really dislike the trendy misspelled things, sorry. If I can't yell it across the playground and introduce him as a doctor or lawyer (or other…

You're still an hourglass, smaller waist and chest and hip are the same (or similar). It doesn't usually come off equally all over that's for sure, if I could lose the last 10lbs at will I'd take it almost all off my middle. I am an hourglass under this though and I can see it more and more again. How clothes fit and I…

Worry about running for the time, you'll get faster later and then you'll be able to complete more distance in the same amount of time. Speed/distance comes after just getting through the time.

One of my two favorite book series EVER (The other is the Dark Tower by Stephen King). The books are AMAZING!!! Plus you won't have the wait some of us did between the last two books, though who knows how long we'll be waiting for the next one. The first book is called "The Game of Thrones" It's officially the Song of Ice…

Stop making excuses. Sorry it's true, somewhere someone busier than you found a way to get 30 min of exercise in. You don't need to work out 90 min a day to lose weight. If you have your lifestyle set properly (meaning you don't say lightly active if you aren't really and should be at sedentary) you CAN lose some weight…

Amazing!! You have a waist. Good job! Keep going!! Slow and steady is the only way to win this race.

Not much I loved being 16, and I was married at 19 (and we're still married 10 years later ;P) I would probably tell myself to learn how to properly exercise so that when I was out of school and not on a regular sports team that I would know how to handle that. Lame answer huh?
-
While I do agree with this sort of, I also knew early on I couldn't tell someone else what my starting weight was or HOW much I had to lose. It was simply WAAAY to scary a number. I had to focus on smaller things and mini-goals and not have people asking me "can you have this?" Or "oh you're having another?" etc because…

I didn't tell anyone but my husband for quite awhile. I didn't want to face people if I "failed" again. So until it became obvious to others I didn't say a darn thing. Once I had lost 25 or 30lbs I felt good that I could keep doing it and then when people started to notice I could say "oh yeah I've been working hard".

That's the amount you can eat without getting off the couch and lose weight (in theory anyhow) When you work out you will "earn" more calories. If you search the boards on "eating exercise calories" you'll find lots of threads talking about whether you should or should not eat those. I eat about half mine back because I…

My best friend told me she bought a Buff: http://www.buffwear.com/pages/welcome.php and that it's the best thing ever because you can have it over your face and still breathe. This will be my first winter outside but it's on my list of must haves!
-
Another one that runs outside in real winter conditions here :D I'm in Wisconsin. I do have a treadmill for when I just don't make it outside because I HATE winter (I was born here LOL). Layers, a base wicking layer, a middle wicking layer, and an outside water/wind proof layer on top will help, on the bottom compression…

Yup that's why I mentioned that it's the one by Bluefin so you could be sure. It follows the coolrunnings.com exactly for the running for time options. I'm going to be starting the bridge to 10k soon! Here's the webpage so you can see the icon too :D http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/c25k-couch-to-5k/id301233668?mt=8

I used the one by Bluefin, it's a little green X looking man and it's a paid app. It has the voice cues and lots of stuff you can customize. It is the official one. Also has GPS for .99 more.

Use the blue signature button that shows up near the top of the posting area :D

9 months up, 9 months down. And that's assuming she's working out to get back to pre-pregnancy weight also. The truth is that it will likely never be EXACTLY the same as it was before it grew a child. But many women get back very close (even in the real world) but it doesn't happen over night and many women find it doesn't…

My actual is about 1500 calories a day, but it's still enough to be losing because I'm eating back exercise calories and therefor the goal changes every day unless I don't move off the couch. I've been here for over a year now and when I started it was much closer to 2000 calories but I weighed 75lbs more then.
-
This will depend on your current height/weight/sex/activity level set by MFP as well as your goal to lose each week. Currently I weigh 167 and am sedentary and set to lose 1lbs a week. Before exercise calories I get 1390 calories a day to eat. I usually eat about 1500ish calories a day since I eat back about half my…

5mph is a 12min mile, I've found that I really don't run that fast MOST of the time. The more variable type of exercise you do the more important the HRM is. Otherwise it's a ballpark estimate and I never eat back more than half my exercise calories because of that. Some exercises here under estimate and some over…
-
I don't have a HRM so I log my treadmill time under the jogging as close to the speed that MFP gives me (and I round down if I'm at say 5.3 mph I'd say I jogged at 5.0mph). I also bumped the incline if you have it up from the base amount to help simulate outdoors more. I only eat back about half my exercise calories though…

well the bad news is you can't spot reduce fat, the good news is if you do strength training along with your cardio as the fat comes off the muscles underneath will have more definition. I strength train 3/4 days a week and do cardio 5/6 days a week. Abs are also really made in the kitchen, so you really have to have a…

I'm SOOO hoping Quinn makes the show because he's my choice too. Eric otherwise!

My husband and I both enjoy a strip club occasionally (together and apart). We don't care where we get the appetite as long as we eat at home. It's a fun evening for a bachelor(ette) party or an occasional wild hair type fun. No touching allowed on our parts (our rule even if the club allows it). Just not a big deal IMO.…

If we're REALLY talking pennies or dimes I'd MOST of the time choose the better option but if it's a buck more unfortunately I'll probably choose the cheaper option. Which is why I take my lunch to class.

Fuel during the run will make the difference, you could be just dehydrated but I'd bet you need something like Gu or the power blocks from Cliff Bar etc.

I want to add that my child shares VERY VERY well, sometimes better than the kids with siblings. Especially because he knows that when those kids leave (or he goes home) no one is going to try and steal his stuff so he's happy to share for the time he's there. We've been continually praised about his team work and sharing…

I am the oldest of two, my brother is 3 1/2 years younger than I am. We like each other but we were NEVER close, never playmates, we're just VERY different people. He lives only 25 min from me and mostly I only see him on holidays. So having a sibling doesn't mean instant best friend or buddy for life. My husband and I…

You can do this! I joined in Aug 2010 with over 80lbs to lose. You can see I've lost 75lbs so far :D YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!!!!!

I did it this summer and now run the 5K as my normal workout. Take it slow, rest between days (or cross train) and even if you hit a week that sucks it's okay to redo it. I did w6 twice before I just decided to push forward and came out okay on the other end! Speed will come later, so don't worry about being slow now. Make…

I'm currently in nursing school. I would have done it before I had a family and husband. Of course that's just not possible. Luckily I don't have to work (much) while in school. Just tell him, keep his head down and push through it. As his wife know that it's going to suck too and you'll miss him a lot even if he's in the…
